Oh and thanks again for the lovely comment on weight loss. NHS BMI calculator tells me I’m now 23.9 BMI and a “healthy weight” 🙂

Huffthepuff · 06/07/2019 15:16

I bought those Boden espadrilles in black @SoyYo and had to return as they were too narrow. I'd sized up too 😢

SoyYo · 06/07/2019 16:39

Yes Huff I fear I’ll be the same...to date I’ve never been successful with Boden shoes. If they go on the sale I may give them a go.
On the bright side my Gudrun parcel has been delivered to the corner shop (they charge for home delivery but free ups to a local pick up point) and I’ll report back.
I know Gudrun is not everyone’s cup of tea but I just adore her prints 🌼🌸🌻🌺🌹🌷

I've had a fun day doing a cake sale with my WI group. Have eaten a lot of cake though but that was always going to happen. I've not got a massive sweet tooth but home made cake is so nice! And the sun came out for the afternoon.
Having a bbq for tea so loads of grilled veg will cancel out the cake, right?

ilovecherries · 06/07/2019 20:06

Yes, eat some greens, whisky, and the cakes will disappear 🤣. I also love home made cakes but haven’t had a cake or biscuit for over two years now, apart from the rich teas I ate immediately post op. Hope you have a good bbq, great evening for it.

I had a lovely day as well - walked an out and back along the cliffs at Scarborough, my Garmin says 7 miles. Dog managed fine, and seemed to cope ok, in that she was trotting ahead of us, rather than simply plodding along behind. I’m a bit sun/wind burned but feel all glowy and healthy.

DD has realised that I will have a premier inn room for a week in London next month, so has opportunistically decided if I’m paying for a double room anyway, she may as well come as well :). I’m pleased to have her actually, but I like her style. I will be in college all day so she can do her own thing, and we can meet up in the evenings.

Hi I’ve been at Glasto now at Loch Lomond in a posh lodge. I wanted to show you the kimono I bought for my cousins 60th. The website you all recommended on her. I bought one but it didn’t suit me but I think my cousin looks lovely.

You look lovely in your kimono, @Each! Looks like a super party!!!

EachandEveryone · 06/07/2019 21:11

No it’s my cousin it’s her 60th present off me

neveradullmoment99 · 06/07/2019 22:49

Your cousin looks fabulous in the kimono. I love her outfit.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/07/2019 22:53

I was out for lunch yesterday. Nothing posh just dobbies garden centre with my mum and the kids and saw this fabulous elderly lady wearing what looked like a toast maxi dark denim skirt, thick black tights and brogues. On top she had a gorgeous kimono style cardigan, shortish. She must have been 80 plus and totally rocked that outfit. Couldn't afford to buy another toast item but was really tempted after seing her. Anway, marks and spencers have a midi [ although reviews say its pretty long] and its a button through dark denim A-line skirt so have ordered it. It was only £18 in the sale so worth a punt! Collect it tomorrow.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/07/2019 22:54

Its this one

justilou1 · 07/07/2019 01:39

Sorry, I was just awake, @Never! She looks fab!!! I hope she had a wonderful day!!!

urghsohot · 07/07/2019 07:20

soy what jeans are you wearing in your pics please and do you mind me asking what size you are? I love them x

Ellapaella · 07/07/2019 08:36

@EachandEveryone your cousin looks fabulous- she has colour coordinated that outfit perfectly!

ilovecherries · 07/07/2019 08:40

Yes, lovely kimono each, really suits her. That’s a nice skirt, never, look forward to seeing it on you.

EachandEveryone · 07/07/2019 09:13

My cousin is very creative she always has a slightly boho edge to her. I’m so pleased as she will put it to good use. We are staying at Cameron house it’s gorgeous up here appart from the midges!

ilovecherries · 07/07/2019 09:58

I guessed Cameron House but didn’t want to out you! We’ve stayed there a few times, but always tend to go mid winter for my birthday, because of midges.

SoyYo · 07/07/2019 10:11

each nice to know you had a great Glasto weekend. I saw the Lizzo and The Cure gigs on YouTube and wished I’d been there. Lucky you!
Your cousin is beautiful and yes the kimono is just perfect on her. Looks fab!

never love that a stylish 80 year old inspired you to try that great denim skirt! Gives us all hope we’ll be rocking our style well into our wisdom years.

@urghsohot thanks! They’re old season Hush embroidered jeans now on the sale (see link) I’m wearing a 12 but due to losing weight if I’m out and about I need to wear a belt so you could size down to a 10 as they are generous round the waist
www.hush-uk.com/sale-1/sale-2/sale-trousers-shorts/embroidered-relaxed-jeans-denim.htm

SoyYo · 07/07/2019 10:16

Sorry meant to add I’m a size 12 bottom and size 14 on top due to boobs in most High St shops. Sometimes in Hush I size down to a 10/S bottom as they tend to be very generous (specially elasticated waist things).

dontcallmelen · 07/07/2019 11:33

Each your cousin looks so stylish, love her cami top as well have a great time.
never that skirt looks really good, reckon it will look really good you.
cherries glad ddog enjoyed her walk, she seems a bit better by the sound of it, lol at dd can’t fault her logic though ooh forgot about your fashion thingy hope you enjoy it.
I had a nosey at the next sale, got a few cotton T-shirts half price & coupe of really good bargains if they fit, a Seafolly swimming costume reduced from £98.00 down to £35.00 & a Figleaves one reduced about the same, am putting myself firmly on the bench if I keep them both.
Lot cooler here today & has been raining this morning, but it’s quite nice as the last few days have been very sticky & headache inducing.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

justilou1 · 07/07/2019 11:56

I'm eyeing off your cousin's shoes, @neveradullmoment99! How fab!!! Cameron House sounds fab!

I spent a fortune yesterday buying some clothes for the endless bloody summer that will probably hit in a month or so. A couple of the t-shirts are quite amusing (I think) and my kids will eyeroll until they see their own brains. I will have to get them to take photos so the words are not reversed in the mirror. Will attach photos when they turn up in the mail. You're about to see how truly atrocious Aussie Post really is. (These are posted from my own city...It will be over a week until it arrives!).
I have had my hair lobbed too. It's so weird at the moment. As you know, it's been falling out in chunks, but it's the light hairs that have gone, so it's getting darker and darker. At my age, it should be getting lighter! I have had a fringe cut to disguise my really baldy bits and I can't drive it at all. I told my kids it was to disguise my lobotomy scar.
My kids have had two weeks off school and have one more to go. They are halfway through the school year and I personally can't wait until school starts again! Teenagers are expensive creatures. Anyhow, I'm going to have a glass of red wine and then go and clean the kitchen before bed. Hope you all have a glamorous Sunday!

EachandEveryone · 07/07/2019 12:25

The shoes are River Island the cami Zara in the same. She never pays full price for anything. I’m at the airport now looking for something to waste my money on......

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 14:52

Skirt is great btw. Just neat around my waist but intend to shift it and the next size up would be too big on hips. Will post a picture laterv ut looks great for £18 and not frumpy. Very toastesque.

whiskyremorse · 07/07/2019 15:58

Sorry to derail the clothes talk but fellow curlies will understand. I have been to see Vicky Queen of Curls and have happy hair again after a shocking cut elsewhere that I have had to grow out for months. So I am booked again for November and not letting my appointments go unbooked again!
