I can have a look again - I think it was in the holiday section? I remember at least 3 or 4 different ones...but it was a while ago, maybe they have sold out.

SoyYo · 05/07/2019 13:23

cherries looking fantastic again!
I found you a company that seems to specialise on the real McKoy...ie foldable Panama hats:
panamahats.co.uk/ladies/

SoyYo · 05/07/2019 13:25

Meant to add they tell you for each style whether it’s foldable or not and they have a section on how to fold too 👍

justilou1 · 05/07/2019 14:38

Hi @ilovecherries - I was thinking about the rollable Panama thing, and of course all the ones I can find are for men. Have you looked at camping/trecking stores? Over here they have lots of protective head gear that's built to take a battering. In Australia we also have the Skin Cancer Council, (dodgy lot who own Aussie patents for sunscreens and won't let other sorts of sunscreens into the county - very suss....) Meanwhile, they have lots of hats too. Do you have an equivalent?

ilovecherries · 05/07/2019 15:06

This is where my vanity comes into play, just! I do have several wide brim Tilly type hats from camping stores, and I do wear them when hill walking, gardening, walking dog etc - either that or a buff with a visor. But I want something that won’t look out of place when I’m dressed for meetings etc. So nothing in bright colours either, that screams ‘I’m a UV protection hat’. Thanks soy, will check these out and get DH to measure my head properly when I get home.

ilovecherries · 05/07/2019 15:07

Sorry, I’m being very precious about this, I know.

Ninkaninus · 05/07/2019 15:38

Cherries does it have to be a panama? There are some nice foldaway felt hats at Toast.

Or maybe a raffia hat? Expensive, but it looks like it would fold down nicely. Also at Toast

I’ve just bought this one from JL. Not sure if it’s suitable as it’s not a packable one, but I thought it would might alright with your work outfits?

I also really like this one (I didn’t buy it only because I already have an olive green hat and I needed one that will go with everything):

ilovecherries · 05/07/2019 16:38

Yes,I have a few felt ones that I wore a few winters ago when I had some wispy hair regrowing and I wanted to see how much there would be (answer - not a lot. Friar Tuck springs to mind). They are just too hot for summer though, and in the winter I usually wear hair instead of a hat. I’ve just tried the first JL one, and it is nice, but it’s not providing enough coverage.

No porn on train tonight thankfully - just a pleasant teenager doing her homework who asked me politely if I’d like to use the plug point or was it ok for her to use it :)

justilou1 · 05/07/2019 16:39

I understand the need for pretty hats, @ilovecherries! I am obviously small of brain and frequently need to raid the kids department when looking for head wear... Would be fine if I wanted something holographic and/or with cat ears, but that’s not my bag either! We need a milliner!!!

justilou1 · 05/07/2019 16:41

Love the taupe/orange trilby, @cherries!!! Hope it’s a winner!

Ninkaninus · 05/07/2019 17:52

Yeah I thought the felt might be too hot. Sorry the other one wasn’t any good either.

Some of the ones I was thinking of at JL were sold out so no good now. I know I have seen a couple of other somewhere but I just don’t have any idea where right now...I’m hoping it will come back to me.

Could be white stuff, White Company, Anthropologie?

@neveradullmoment99
You will love Cornwall - I have been almost every year for the last 40 years! For things to do, camel trail up through Wadebridge is wonderful (weather permitting) - if you can get through the town there are some wonderful woods with a picnic spot by the river (Bishops Wood). Llanhydrock is a National Trust house with amazing gardens. There is also a beautiful walk out of Padstow along the cliff tops which takes you to Hawkers Bay, amazing views of the estuary.
Just outside Padstow is Constantine Bay which is one of the most beautiful places in the world! It's where my heart lies... hope you enjoy! 🥰😍

AND to everyone else - totally loving all the news and pictures. Haven't posted for a while, just been lurking. Big love to those that are having troubles and big love to the rest of you! 😀

Huffthepuff · 05/07/2019 22:25

Loving the Scandi look Cherries it really suits you.

Soy the WCompany top looks fabulous. Yy to your svelte figure, totally agree with others you look wonderful. So impressed with your double Pilates sessions!

Laska loving the photos, I hope you are feeling super chilled and rested 😎 sounds like you got your holiday wardrobe spot on

Ellapaella · 06/07/2019 09:56

Good morning Hushistas 👋
Weather is shocking here in the NE, yet another cloudy cool day, so fed up of it.
We are off camping with some friends today so I hope the sun decides to come out as forecast. Feeling very envious of those of you with holidays lined up to warm climates.

There is a nice little town near where we are camping (over your neck of the woods cherries) so may have a little meander round the shops later if I get a chance. Hope you all have lovely things lined up for the weekend.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/07/2019 10:40

We had it cool cloudy windy and wet over the last few days. Today is warmer and brighter. Hopefully a little of that will spread your way@Ellapaella. Have a lovely camping trip 😁☀️☀️☀️🌤

neveradullmoment99 · 06/07/2019 10:45

ilovecherries · 06/07/2019 11:16

Its lovely here, ella, so you may be lucky! We are heading off to Scarborough for a cliff walk.

ilovecherries · 06/07/2019 11:19

Thanks for that, never, I’ve gone ahead and ordered that. It’s even free returns so def worth a punt.

SoyYo · 06/07/2019 12:07

Happy weekend Hush friends!
We were going to go to the Norfolk beach shack but forecast iffy (grey/rainy in East Anglia) so staying put to sort through back and front halls at home ready for DH decorating marathon this weekend.
Decluttering weekend ahead!

It’s been very warm/sunny here all week so when the rain came down this morning I kind of liked it (what’s wrong with me?) it reminds me of summers growing up when after days of hot/dry weather the gentle rain was welcome relief. I rarely feel like that in GB...

Huff thank you for the nice comment!

never brilliant find for cherries

ella you’re always up to something fun at weekends, hope the sun shines on your camping adventure.

sprocket I have friends who had a totally mad dog (decades ago) called Sprocket Grin you’re not her are you? If I mention Harleys and Norton and the Aquitaine and you recognise yourself let me know but I think it’s just pure coincidence Wink
Thanks for delurking and saying Hi

nink if you read this can you link to the Boden yellow espadrilles? And would they fit wide kipper feet?

Ninkaninus · 06/07/2019 12:15

Hi Soy 🌷

Here you go:

www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/cassie-espadrille-wedges-bright-dijon/sty-a0484-yel

I originally bought the jigsaw ones which were just a smidge too narrow for my wide feet. These fit well, maybe just a touch more space would be nice but as it’s suede it will stretch with use so I always buy as snug as I can to allow for that. I’d say it’s definitely worth a try! There are several colours to choose from. I liked the pop of the yellow to wear with white and black especially.

Also want to add a big congrats and well done on your weight loss, you do look very trim!

dontcallmelen · 06/07/2019 12:31

Soy the boden ones are reasonably wide & really comfy I ordered them but sadly had to send back, as the three came up on the big side.

dontcallmelen · 06/07/2019 12:33

Great find never👍🏼 Reckon that will really suit you Cherries.
Hope the weather gods, smile for everyone getting out n about.
Weather has been lovely here in London, today started off really sunny but cloudy now & feels quite ‘heavy’ so think rain on its way.

SoyYo · 06/07/2019 14:10

Thank you nink and len those are the ones I was eyeing up 😍 and like you nink i sent back the Jigsaw ones as too tight...
I’ll see if I find a good discount code 👍
