soups this is the Tu one I've inherited from my dd. Her's is about 5 years old, and I think when I bought it it was £99, then had 25% off. Her's doesn't have epaulettes but otherwise looks identical. She's worn it a lot, and I'm finding it very soft and comfy, with no real signs of wear, just a bit of character-ageing. tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Premium-Online-Exclusive-Black-Leather-Jacket/134140789-Black?searchTerm=leather%20jacket:newArrivals&searchProduct=

Thank you cherries unfortunately sold out in my size but will keep an eye out for new stock in.

Anyone bought leather from Massimo Dutti?

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 17:41

@soups love the All Saints one. Classic old fashioned biker 👍
I’m still finishing work but will do some googling for you at the weekend.
M.Dutti is usually great cut and quality, so deffo worth a try if you spot something hopeful.
I think I must have tried and returned around 6 before I settled on my black leather biker...it’s not just about the leather quality but also the fit.
I still have my very first biker leather jacket from when I was 18 years old! It was actually for motorcycle riding so not a “fashion” one (fashion leather jackets were invented decades later) but I used to wear all the time all the same, and with age/time it got better as it was heavier leather. Will never fit into it again but will not part with it (must be a 6 in today’s vanity sizing)

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 17:57

Ahh thank you Soy. You are a proper biker then! Do you still ride your motorbike?

Hope the wardrobe clearance goes well. I'm planning to list a few things on Ebay and hopefully make a bit of money to pay for leather jacket

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 18:39

I don’t ride... I did learn but never got round to passing my test before I got pregnant Sad) but my DH is a proper biker rufty toughty (silly big softie) so I’ve been with the biker crowd since very young. We have 2 big HD bikes and a very old Sporster in bits which will get rebuilt as a trike for me when I retire and become a hells grannie 😎
We go on at least one long EU ride every summer, lots of shorter ones in between.

I’ve finished work now so weekend is here! Will have a look for leather jackets and let me know how the eBaying goes (Not sure I have the time to do it but DH is retiring early in June so he could become my eBay PA otherwise he’ll be tinkering with motorbikes all the time Grin)

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 19:15

Blimey @SoyYo I've just taken a quick look at the fast800 diet thread. Is that the one you're doing? How long are you planning to do it for? Is it ok?

Laska2Meryls · 10/05/2019 19:25

huff fast800, is great .. I lost loadson it before, and if only I could get some effing willpower for more than a day at a time, I will again.. , its only 6 weeks to holiday ..

Sheesh I cannot do hangovers any more .. (it takes me two sleeps now and so atm I'm still bushed! ) Early night will have to be be had .. but I did just have a hair of the dog glass of wine at dinner

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 19:33

@huff blimey indeed! I didn’t know there was a thread on it.
It’s all your fault laska Grin I ordered the book from amazon and Dr Moseley is sooo persuasive, and I have to be beach ready by June 3rd!
I’ve stuck to it since Monday but I’m having a little break at the weekend as we’re seeing old friends for a pub lunch tomorrow and I deserve Wine for being so good all week 😅 I’ll choose sensible food so as not to undo the huge effort and I’ll keep you posted.
Not for the faint hearted...

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 19:40

Sounds amazing. I'm very intrigued. I need to do something to shift a stone and get back into my pre baby clothes. Is the book good? Maybe that would be a good place to start. I mostly need to stop drinking 🍷 as I think that's where a lot of my calories are coming from

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 19:40

@huff plan is to stick with it 5/6 days for two weeks hoping to shift weight fast but have 1 day off when I can have wine and more calories but not exceed 1500. After that depending on how I feel (and lost) I’ll cut down to 5:2 probably till I shift the whole stone I must lose (will continue if I fall off bandwagon after Spain break). Then continue with better habits and odd low cal day to maintain.
I totally respect anyone who can stick to it for 6 weeks like @laska or the 12 weeks they recommend!
I’m too much of a Bon vibant to stick with such crazy low cal regime for that long...

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 19:41

Bon vivant I meant. La Dolce Vita i can assure it isn’t Grin

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 19:44

Hats off to the fast 800 people! You must have amazing willpower. Can you still have 3 meals a day? What sort of things do you eat?

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 19:45

I'd love to lose a bit of weight but have zero willpower. I have to have chocolate every day.

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 19:45

That sounds sensible Soy, and realistic. Although still really hard!
@Laska2Meryls how much did you lose doing it for 6 weeks?! That's hardcore 😱

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 19:49

@huff yes the Fast 800 book is pretty cheap on Amazon and yes my daily Wine had to go (for now)
It is good in that you don’t need to give up a little bit of olive oil to make big fresh salads palatable, you can have a (fairly) filling lunch like an omelette and asparagus and then chicken/salmon and greens for dinner. Apparently there’s no scientific evidence that crash diets are bad provided you stick to the rules and use the 800 cals for nutritious food and you’re only meant to do it for as long as you want but also you can go gentler doing just 2 days of 800 cals and healthy Med diet the rest of the time.
If you’re still breastfeeding you should maybe wait. Even if you’re not because a young baby requires energy and Most people don’t regain their pre pregnancy weight till 12 months+ after baby is born.
Listen to your old Hush friend: you’ve got a great slim figure. Just eat sensibly and running around your toddler will get rid of the rest Wink

Laska2Meryls · 10/05/2019 19:55

I did it for * huff and lost about 20lbs..Its actualy ok once you get into it,(and if you can give up Wine totally, something it makes sucha difference. I can do once I am into the 'zone' but am totally failing at right now.

I ate a lot of veggies and kept my fish meat portions simply cooked.. always eggs for breakfast. Some pulses/beans , yoghurt avocados, butter and olive oil are allowed, and even things like the odd bit of rye bread , if you dont overdo it, and that's what makes it doable for me..

Giving up wine is just not working for me right now, .. so I think over the weekend ill get out my holiday clothes for a scary/ motivating try on.. I know that most of my last years shorts will not fit!)..

Laska2Meryls · 10/05/2019 19:56

I did it for 8 weeks that was meant to be ..

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 19:56

In fact dear huff thinking about you juggling work and a new baby I would strongly advice you NOT to do it...I think you’ll lose the weight naturally over the next few months.
Just concentrate on a healthy diet, if you want cut down on carbs a little and the Wine and you’ll see you’ll get back to your old shape soon enough.
It took me circa 12-18 months after each DS was born but I did lose all the weight relatively effortlessly in the end.

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 20:18

@SoyYo and @Laska2Meryls thank you, that's really helpful advice. DS is 15 months now and I've not shifted any weight since going back to work, which is annoying. But the 🍷really doesn't help. I need to make a concerted effort to stop drinking for a few weeks and see if that makes a difference. I don't drink a lot ever in one go but I do drink regularly. Interested in his idea of having a full 12 hours between evening meal and breakfast and seeing the difference that makes too as that's easily achievable for me. I don't snack in the evening really, just during the day.

Pleased that you've ordered the shorts Soy. I've got those in my basket too as my old denim shorts don't fit (even remotely 😂)

dontcallmelen · 10/05/2019 20:24

@twosoups1972 the Sainsbury’s jacket cherries linked to is very similar to my Sainsbury’s one, they usually do them every few months TU Premium collection & they have 25%off usually every half term, they are pretty good for the money, I also have a Reiss biker jacket which is beautiful & a M&S one Yy Massimo Dutti good quality as well.
Soy primark have some good denim shorts in at the moment nice weight & come in different leg lengths.

dontcallmelen · 10/05/2019 20:41

I was very restrained bought a couple of pairs of shorts, slippers & a couple of pretty cotton summer tops, all from Primark.
The shorts are super comfy & have a nice stretch if anyone after some cheap shorts, Topshop also had a really nice longline khaki military jacket for £49.00, looks a lot better on than the pics online it’s quite slouchy & is quite generous sized, which is unusual for TS.

Laska2Meryls · 11/05/2019 07:44
