Ohhh I thought they were dresses, for some reason! I agree, they are both very nice and you should probably keep them both. The navy is probably more versatile but the colourful stripes really make a statement.

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 12:28

Thanks for all the tips, I am going to make a start soon. Just munching on Aldi chocolate Smile

laska that's really funny re your tartan mini, I was wearing a black/white tartan mini when I met dh Grin Grin I also had a red tartan one that I wore during my uni days in the 90s. Obviously tartan minis are the way to go when meeting one's dh!!

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 12:30

cherries both skirts are really lovely on you. Are you saying the multi stripe one is smaller than the navy stripe? They both look fab on you in any case, can't see any pudge at all!

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 12:49

Hellooo!
@huff love the sound of your outfit today
@soups I need to do what you are doing, my work doesn’t allow me to do it during the week and then with my gallivanting in Norfolk at weekends I keep putting it off...I’m home this weekend so let’s inspire each other
@cherries I like both on you! Seriously the colourful one is fab and the blue one a slightly slimmer fit. I’m with @laska!
@laska good to see you back in top form (if slightly hangover Wink) and up to your Wren tricks Grin
I’m still dithering with the Gudrun kimono because fab as it is I need to really really think...Spain is sometimes too warm even for such fabulous summer coat and not sure I would ever find the occasion in GB. Hmm maybe I should do a try on session a la @not this weekend and make a final decision.
@not I like the bolero with both dresses, for the other one I think you should also try with a more fitted shape underneath. The colour matching is perfect.

Now what I need next are denim shorts for my Spanish trip. I have an old Boden pair and last SS Black Hush pair but they are a 10! I’m too porky and need a 12.
So I want to order with the grazia discount and I like the starry ones but also the longer length ones but they may be too long for 5’3”?
What should I order to try?
Will 12 be generous enough?

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 12:52

The fast800 diet is hardcore 😅 I’m hungry! Only thing that’s keeping me focused is early June and that Spanish beach...

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 12:54

Oh my, my neighbour has just popped round and I am in awe of her outfit. She's 62 but looks much younger, she was wearing jeans, grey trainers and a black leather jacket. She looked fab. Now I'm thinking I might 'need' a black leather jacket Grin

Ninkaninus · 10/05/2019 12:58

My black leather jacket has served me very well over the years. It’s not actually black, it’s a very dark navy blue, but I’ve used it so much with so many outfits. Be wary though, because it sparked a serious love affair with leather jackets! I’ve now got six, maybe seven? And I always want another one...

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 13:05

@ninka never a truer word spoken!
I’m your leather jacket fashion twin Grin

Ninkaninus · 10/05/2019 13:08
Grin

Navy blue isn’t right. Midnight maybe? It pretty much looks black.

I’d love a burgundy one. And one in dusky pink. Also still haven’t found the perfect tan one...

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 13:22

Ooh I’m lusting after the Hush navy blue one which is kind of midnight blue.
I have a burgundy suede biker from Mango and a perfect pale pink/nude one from Muubaa. Both old season now or I’d link...

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 13:23

And a great brown (rather than tan) suede biker too.
I can talk leather/suede bikers for hours! Grin

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 13:36

This is the pink one which I have but paid a lot more than the sale price, sadly ooo but I can recommend if you find elsewhere

Ninkaninus · 10/05/2019 14:02

Ohhhhh that’s perfect! The colour, the styling - I specifically want one with a very defined waist like that one!!

The tan I’m looking for is not actually tan, and not chocolate brown either, it’s like the perfect midpoint between the two, but not orange...I don’t know what colour it is, but I’ll know it when I see it!

I’ve got a lovely burnt orange one from Muubaa..

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 14:04

@twosoups1972 I'm trying to PM you but I can't work out how to do it. I've only ever replied to DMs 😳 Would you be able to refer me for the Aurora bag please? Xx

ilovecherries · 10/05/2019 14:21

The navy marina is a 12, the bright one is a 10. And then I would actually be Cherries4Marinas, as I already have black and snake. Thing is, they are a style I love, and all 4 would be quite different.

I’m lusting after a navy leather jacket as well, 10% off isn’t really enough though, it would need to be at least 20%.

I’m going to be on my own all w/e. DH is taking DDs car back to her, now we’ve had it fixed. Still raging that someone can ram you at the traffic lights and get away without paying anything. Anyway, I could obviously go as well, but I feel I’ve lived on the M6 for the last three months, and I have to do it again the next two weekends as I’m going to collect mum and dad for a holiday then take them home again, so decided I would just have a quiet weekend here. Gentle dog walks, work on my course, chat on MN....

huff yes of course but I need your email address. If you go to My Mumsnet you should see the message option there.

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 14:41

@nink I linked because you never know, sometimes old Muubaa stock crops up on BA/Amazon/eBay and yes it’s a fabulous shape and the pink is almost nude, not sugary at all.
I’m fact all told I own 4 Muubaas. All old season and I was recently very disappointed with a blue one bought on BA. So I’m not sure if they’ve changed the fit in later collections or was just unlucky. Two are black leather (irreplaceable now as very old stock), the pink and a brown suede one which I’ll try and link for you because you might love the shade. It’s a great Brown (not tan) I’m light olive skinned with dark hair so can’t wear camel/tan shades they wash me out sometimes but that shade of brown is lovely imho.
Just for ideas on colour.

@cherries sounds like a perfect weekend! Much as I love DH and my two grown DS at home sometimes I wish for a weekend all by myself...I’m totally blissful in my own company as much as I like being with people and my lovely family I think time alone replenishes our energy and can be very nourishing.
I’m going to order the stripy blue marina too at a future stage so keep them! They’re indeed all very different and you love the shape.
If you really must return one keep the colourful stripy one because that’s more likely to be ooo soon...

So With the grazia code I’ve ordered both short star and long denim shorts to try and decide which to keep for my June hols. Both in a 12 Hope one of them fits! I refuse to buy Hush bottoms in a 14 and I’ll just have to go without if the 12’s are too small till I finally shift the xtra weight...

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 14:44

I am back after Stage 1 wardrobe clearcut. I will do it more thoroughly at some point but for now, I have one bag for the charity shop, about 5 or 6 items that are worth Ebaying and I have tidied all the shelves and drawers so it looks a lot neater. I wasn't particularly ruthless but it's a start.

Now I can't stop thinking about leather jackets! I still wear my old brown leather one a lot, and I also have a tan suede one from Hobbs (in the sale) that remains unworn sadly. I've had it listed on Ebay for a while but no joy. But there is something about black leather that looks so classy, especially as my lovely neighbour styled it with jeans and a white top. I want one!

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 15:02

ninka and soy where would you recommend looking for leather jackets? I don't want it too 'zippy' or heavy looking.

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 15:33

@soups till I received the BA disaster one I would have recommended Muubaa in a heartbeat, now not so sure and even on their sale they are £ but all the ones I have (old stock) are really marvellous and fit over G cup boobs and as they tend to be cropped good for us shorties.
Others swear by All Saints.

Having seen the Hush onyx on @cherries and @not I think they would be worth a try despite the investment. They need to fit perfectly, but still to zip up, I don’t agree with buying too small.

And @len recently recommended Sainsbury’s leather jacket.

It’s a case of kissing a few frogs before finding “the one” (a bit like the perfect jeans)

SoyYo · 10/05/2019 15:35

Also ask your neighbour where she got hers! Wink she may come up with a suggestion we never even thought of!

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 15:52

@twosoups1972 I have tried to send you a message but not sure I'm getting it right the way I've added your name. I haven't put an @ before it. Let me know if it works 🙈

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 15:53

Soy I have already asked her where she got her trainers from. She'll thinking I'm stalking her Grin

melen which Sainsbury's leather jacket did you get?

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 16:00

Oooh just seen this All Saints one - looks lovely -

www.allsaints.com/women/leather/allsaints-dalby-biker/?colour=5&category=25

That's what I want - simple, not too fussy, collar not too big....

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 16:12

Thanks @twosoups1972 ! Got it.
