So ££ though. Gorgeous. I too saw them on the Toast website. I have my dd's birthday coming up [ she will be 8 coming on 18 ] so 'smiggle' will be robbing me blind!

neveradullmoment99 · 11/05/2019 07:58

You are up early @Laska! I was up at 6am!!! My dd came into bed and all i could feel were arms and legs!
Its beautiful here [ to start with, can always change]. It was really heavy rain last night.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/05/2019 07:59

Laska2Meryls · 11/05/2019 08:29

Two soups some bright stripe. Marina in smaller sizes back in this morning.. 😊

ilovecherries · 11/05/2019 08:33

len, Lovely shorts. laska, glad you have recovered.

I’m still in bed too, have been up to make tea and let dog out for a pee, and looking forward to a productive weekend. I’m going back on hard core bootcamp LC on Monday so I need to do a proper shop and some meal planning. I’m never far away from LC but there has been some creep since my op - a combo of feeling sicky for a bit, feeling tired, mouth being so sore, feeling bored as I couldn’t do much, lack of exercise etc. Haven’t put on any weight in terms of the scales, but nor have I lost the full 8 lbs that were removed, so there is a small net gain which I want to nip in the bud.

I cracked and re-orderd the chamonix crops yesterday. I wasn’t going to, but I’ve worn the Moritz ones loads already and I’ve tried about 20 other pairs of crop chinos from elsewhere, but none sat as well as the Hush ones. But otherwise, I’m all set for summer, I think, other than new prescription sun glasses.

cherries I have lived in my navy chaminox , what colour did you get?

ilovecherries · 11/05/2019 08:46

I’ve actually ordered the camel to try - I may yet exchange for the navy but I was keen to try something different, as I always wear blue on my bottom half!

I just wanted to pop in and let you all know that tomorrow is Mother’s Day in Australia. I sent DDs (12&14) with DH and received a volley of OMFG text messages from them so have avoided presents he seemed to want for himself this year (for once!). (No idea what I will get, but have unclenched my jaw somewhat.) Anyhow, Happy Antipodean Mum’s Day for tomorrow from your Aussie wannabe Hushista! I am visiting my auntie on the island for lunch and of the weather is nice, I will take some photos for you! X

dontcallmelen · 11/05/2019 11:46

Just happy Antipodean Mother’s Day for tomorrow, I really hope you you have a lovely day & yy seeing pictures of the island.
😂 yes it’s frugal Len 🤞🏻 it lasts at least for a little while.
One more frugal buy, canvas trainers £6.00 from Primark they are too big though, so will gift to dd as her feet are a little bigger than mine. If you have narrow feet they are surprisingly comfy.

Morning, lou :)

Camel chamonixs are already back in post. Just so wrong for me. Looked as if I was attempting to cover imminent incontinence.

melen love the tops, so pretty.

never my youngest dd is 12 and I remember the Smiggle days well! The lighting in there, so bright. And they always seem to put a Smiggle next door to a Lush, what with the smells and lighting, it's headache overload.

laska glad you are feeling better today, thanks for the heads up about the Marina - I have ordered! I am also tempted by the camel Chamonix.

just happy Mothers' Day! Hope you have a lovely day and some nice pressies Flowers

Oh and I found this lovely leather biker from Massimo Dutti, not a bad price either:

Having reviewed my wardrobe, I decided not to exchange the camel, but just refund. I have Bryce culottes, me&em navy jersey ones and the Moritz ones and decided I didn’t need another pair of blue ones.

ilovecherries · 11/05/2019 12:13

Oh, that’s nice, soups. Had it been navy I’d have been over it like a car bonnet.

Heyyy Hushistas!

I’m sorry, I’m not very good with tagging people, I find it hard to scroll back and keep track of who said what...

I’ve woken up feeling a bit, what’s the word? Melancholy, maybe? I wonder if it’s related to the very ruthless kondoing I did yesterday. It felt good, but it’s also quite an emotional process. I felt really guilty about all the clothing I had - so much more than I thought, because I basically had a separate wardrobe for each of four sizes - but also for the many unworn items I found, tags still attached. What a waste of money, and also wasted emotional investment. So many things tied up in all those purchases...

Never mind.

Question regarding the chamonix, what’s the sizing like? Especially if anyone also wears M&S trousers, as that’s my go-to for sizing.

cherries I know you’re starting bootcamp tomorrow... I’m a longtime lurker (used to participate quite a lot some years back), half-heartedly trying to get myself in the zone to start as well, but I’m not sure I’m there yet. I need to get healthy though (have blood glucose problems), and fit nicely into summer wardrobe!

Ninkaninus · 11/05/2019 12:17

Haha on the camel trousers... I might give them a miss then, but I do want to wear a nice pair of camel trousers this summer. Maybe I should stick to M&S and the olive chinos - their chinos are pretty good, and not too expensive.

ilovecherries · 11/05/2019 12:28

nink, I wear the same size in Hush, Next and M&S trousers (12). That’s if the trousers are fitted. If the waist is elasticated, I can usually go down one size in both. I know what you mean about the kondo-melancholy. It some ways it was easier for me as I’d been very big for a very long time, so everything was 22-24. I literally had nothing that fit me except socks. I even dropped a shoe size. Although I’ve bought a lot in the last year, I’m ruthless about returns now, and I leave labels on for two weeks. If it’s not worn in the timeframe, back it goes.

Ninkaninus · 11/05/2019 12:29

To the poster who asked, my jackets are from Muubaa, Mint Velvet, Jaeger and Mango. I’m sure there’s another brand as well but I can’t remember. I’m not sure I’d buy from Mint Velvet again, I think you can get better quality elsewhere. Mango are cheap and cheerful (I only ever buy theirs in the sale as it’s more like fast fashion/not likely to last forever, IMO). I’ve tried twice from All Saints but sent both back - they were a little heavy on the hardware for me, and also I prefer my leather to be a little more supple, theirs was a bit thick and heavy for me (I don’t want to add too much bulk, I’m quite busty).

Now I think I’d be inclined to go to places like Reiss, Jigsaw, Jaeger, Toast, Whistles. Plus Muubaa (possibly on eBay given Soy’s input yesterday). Also Italian brands, and French. Never tried any Hush leather jackets.

I actually do size down - I find that it does stretch with wear and I like mine to sit quite neatly. Although my Jigsaw jacket (lovely dark green) is an oversized style so it does do up, and its my go-to when I’m in a bigger phase.

dontcallmelen · 11/05/2019 12:30

Nink ikwym about the clothing clearout, I did a long post a few days ago about spending/wasted money, made me feel decidedly low as well💐
cherries 😂😂
Laska you are so naughty love those shoes, am off to Ibiza next month, so planning some Spanish shoe shopping then.
Soups lovely jacket, I so want a navy one at the moment.

ilovecherries · 11/05/2019 12:31

And NOTHING goes into my wardrobe till t has been worn. It hangs on the back of the door so I’m forced to take action - wear or return.

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 11/05/2019 12:32

Yy the all saints I so wanted to love, but I found them incredibly heavy & uncomfortable.

dontcallmelen · 11/05/2019 12:34

Cherries that’s my new mantra, I was ashamed at the amount of stuff that I had that was unworn & still had labels on, so silly.

Ninkaninus · 11/05/2019 12:36

Yes I have become ruthless on returns as well, and also much more measured in my shopping habits - overspent ridiculously over several years and really had to get it in check. I operate a fairly structured capsule wardrobe now, because it helps me control my love for new things. I never keep anything I don’t absolutely love, either. Life is too short to be wearing clothes that make you feel meh.

justilou1 · 11/05/2019 12:50

@Ninka & @Cherries, I think when you are “larger” you buy anything that makes you feel good, even if it is just for a moment. When you are slimmer, you can afford to be more discerning. I have lost about 60kg now and my wardrobe has probably lost about the same amount! There were things in it that had tags still on, things that were lovely that I could never match with anything else, etc.... Now I can afford to wait and think about it before I buy it. I also know that it’s not going to kill me if it’s not in the shop next time I go back. There will be a million alternatives in my size available elsewhere. (That is the burning difference that saves me a hell of a lot of money these days!)
