..and it was reduced too! £35 with the discount it was £31 and then the postage. I needed to use a different email address though.

Huffthepuff · 09/05/2019 22:56

Yay Never! You'll love it 😊

Yes @SoyYo! It's such a good design! It's so lovely that your DH is so supportive 🥰

SoyYo · 09/05/2019 23:17

Bravo @never!
@binky is right, we’re bad to the bone!
@huff can’t remember who mentioned wearing kimonos with dresses...now I have circa 4/6 black fairly fitted t shirt dresses (old Boden ruched ones shorter and hush long t shirt dresses) and the Gudrun kimono will be the perfect summer coat for them. When it’s not been used as my wafty beach kimono (I have tankinis/bikinis in one of the exact shades of blue in the pattern) so yes I’ve figured out what to pair it with and happy to keep now. I’m in Spain a lot so I think I may leave it there and use the shorter stars one for my more conservative British identity Wink

Binkybix · 09/05/2019 23:20

Looks gorgeous huff 👍🏻

SoyYo · 09/05/2019 23:20

The dressing gown one is for everywhere that requires...a summer dressing gown Grin 👘👘👘
Good night and @fuzzy it’s nice to know you’re there. Thanks @whisky for the nice comment and @laska we are thinking of you.

Huffthepuff · 10/05/2019 08:16

Great @SoyYo ! So glad you are keeping it, it's gorgeous and looks so good on you. I live in hope for the red one coming back in stock 🙏 Sounds like it will be a really useful part of your wardrobe and keeps your inner boho goddess happy 😊

I'm wearing my black Marina for the first time today with Henley trainers and white slub tee - all Hush. Monsoon red embroidered jacket over the top

neveradullmoment99 · 10/05/2019 09:56

Sounds a lovely outfit @huff. I have my hush leopard dress and new long pink tesco cardi and black tights and trainers on😀

Laska2Meryls · 10/05/2019 10:16

Hi all, love looking at all the Kimonos ,you all look fab ...but I havent gone for one , (going against the prevailing stylista grain here, see ! ,) But i do have my lovely Verry Kerry one .DH bought me for Christmas , but that is more a dressing gown beach robe,.

You've been v chatty . so many new posts which i need to read back through .. I have been only away for a day ! Good to see a Grazia code though I shall use it on a couple of waitlist items

Today I have a definite (undetermined quite how bad yet ) hangover!! and I havent long been awake ....Blush

I took half a day yesterday and treated my friend and my DH to a smashing lunch in a really lovely posh pub near us, for her 60th and celebrating my DH retirement .. We started off with double (naice local gin) G&Ts at 1pm and fell into bed sometime , midnightish.. after a V Good Time Was Had. I'm not quite sure if I am actually awake, ( and i am supposed to be making up the work time this morning.. Oh dear...) ..

neveradullmoment99 · 10/05/2019 10:25

I know you were only away for a day but you had a few shit ones. Just checking up on you Grin
Sounds like fun laska - the pub, not the hangover!
I think your dh might just lead you astray!!!
Well my ds is having a friend over after school so I need to tidy up this pit!! So will be on and off this thread. I also have some work to do [as usual] @Laska, a nice bacon and egg roll always makes me feel loads better after a hangover. No idea why.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/05/2019 10:26

Its set to be pleasantly warm next week. Hopefully get to wear my kimono over a tee or wide legs for work next week. Roll on the sunshine!!

dontcallmelen · 10/05/2019 10:32

I’m loving all the kimonos, everyone look fab Yy warmer weather next week, will be a flux of people wafting around looking amazing.
Laska sounds like a brilliant day, yy eggs n bacon for breakfast.
I’m off with dd to real life shops today😱 have my trusty list & the new sensible Len will not be buying random stuff, just may have a look at kimonos & khaki jackets😂 have a good day everyone.

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 10:47

huff that is BEAUTIFUL Smile

Ninkaninus · 10/05/2019 10:52

Morning everyone! Smile

Huff your green kimono is lovely! I’m having buyer’s remorse now, it was such a close call between the two. In my previous incarnation I would have bought both... I hope the burgundy one looks half as good on me!

twosoups1972 · 10/05/2019 10:52

Morning all on this lovely sunny Friday

laska glad you enjoyed your day, sounds really lovely and hope you start to feel better soon.

Some advice lovely Hush friends - some of you have inspired me to have a wardrobe clear out and I am going to attempt this today. But how do you decide what to keep? For example, do I keep the outfit I wore to my first date with dh but will never fit me again? Tops/jumpers that haven't been worn much (if at all) but that I MIGHT wear at some point? How many pairs of skinny jeans do I need (now that I have discovered Gap straight legs, thanks laska)? Smart/going out dresses that are barely worn?

Also - do you Ebay or just give straight to charity? I do Ebay stuff from time to time but sometimes you only get a few pounds so not sure it is worth it.

ilovecherries · 10/05/2019 11:21

I had hush-mail. Bit of a mixed bag. Layton dress I wanted to love but it made me look like a pregnant pensioner. Marissa top didn’t suit me at all. Both gone back without any dithering. Navy stripe marina I’ve wanted over a couple of seasons and was as nice as I expected. The only item I can’t make up my mind about is the multicolour marina. I had to size down and I’m not sure if it doesn’t make me look a bit pudgy round the hips. What do you think? Off to catch up on rest of thread now.

huff -the green kimono looks amazing on you like everyone has said!! You look like an elegant Japanese lady... It looks good with the ties tied behind, to make it look a bit less dressing gown-y

soy - Yay! Glad your DH has instructed you to keep them all... The blue gudrun one will be ideal as a summer coat - good call. The colours and shape are lovely on you!

laska - Oh dear - hope its a short hangover. Sounds like you had a brill time, and you definitely deserve the odd day off given the time you've been having recently.

soups (thanks so much for the aurora referral btw!) I had the same difficulty re tidying, and wasn't as ruthless as i should be. I'd definitely keep the first date outfit (ditto wedding dress etc) for sentimental reasons. But only "significant" things - not one that DH says you looked nice in and should wear again etc (a) I'm not going to be able to wear it again, b) if I fit in it I'd look like I'd escaped from the 1990s - and i didn't meet him til 2002). But probably "bin" the things you haven't worn and honestly would only keep as "emergency" jumpers etc. Cant answer on the jeans (or indeed the smart dresses)! I got rid of around half a dozen pairs but still have too many! I just charity shop - can't be bothered with the pain people have said eBay is (though I do buy from there, and am a "nice" buyer, I think!) Im just paranoid people will be judging me for the quality of the clothes, or will spot flaws that i hadn't seen and I'd be out of pocket.

I've been playing with the beige bolero - given its not being sent back. I cut the tassels off, cut off some of the ties then restitched (badly) the tassels back on, and tried to hide it with the beads. Didn't work as well as planned, but i don't think its too noticeable, and I think it looks much better. I also tried it with some dresses - the zebra alvers look isn't for the mean streets of Edinburgh, but the colours go surprisingly well, and it could work for wafting around some beach if my shoulders have been sunburned... And another, more sober grey dress. I'm not sure if the shapes work together, though, or if I look like a boho elephant!

Hope you all have a good day, whether shopping (len - have fun!) tidying (never and soups) or pretending-to-work-but-really-scoffing-bacon-rolls-and-groaning (laska) and whatever else you lovelies are up to.

Oh cherries - they look great! I love the multicolour stripes - and don't think they make you look pudgy at all (as if!). But if you had to keep only one, I'd go for the navy, which is gorgeous, and looks amazing on you - plus you seem more sure of it. Though i think they are so different (as different as the same skirt in different stripey fabric can be!!) you could keep both. Love how you've styled the multicoloured one btw! Lovely colour match.

ilovecherries · 10/05/2019 11:32

laska, sound like hopefully the first of many lovely days.

soups, I hate and detest eBaying with a passion. BUT, last year when I was starting a wardrobe from scratch I made well over £2000 to spend on myself without any guilt - so it sort of felt worth it. i’m not sure my hourly rate was great, but it felt like I could treat myself without feeling I was being profligate with ‘family’ money.

I only sell things in pristine condition - not worth the hassle of complaints. I take photos from every angle and I upload in batches of 12 at a time. Brands like Boden, Hush, Mint Velvet, Monsoon, Whistles, Jigsaw etc etc all sell well. M&S less so, and I wouldn’t even bother with Next, Tu etc. My plus size work clothes sold like hot cakes, and I’m currently doing a roaring trade in my massive bras :). It’s also worth looking at FB selling pages.

I LOVE that green kimono!

Ninkaninus · 10/05/2019 11:38

cherries I like them both, but I actually think the multicoloured one is great on you and ‘sings’ in a way the other one doesn’t.

Laska2Meryls · 10/05/2019 11:48

Thanks for all the good wishes.. Its still going on , but atm, I am doing my best to ignore. it will be few months of shit yet i suppose.. but then hopefully never any more contact needs t be had .

TwoSoups hope you are keeping that red bag.. its fab!! re wardrobe clear ot.. I stil have the teeny tiny red tartan mini I was wearing when i met DH 27years ago .. ill never ever get back into (it even though it says sz 12 , shows how much sizing has changed ) . Other wise , I just threw our all work clothes and shoes ill never need again ( thats easy as since went P/T i just dont need so many) other things it was about quality , and whether they went together to make a sort of 'my lifestyle now' wardrobe. TBH i only chucked a coup of Hush things from the very beginning of buying from them ,as everything still seems good and my style.. one jumper and a wool dress so worn and bobbly , and I have a couple of ruched skirts and a Marissa dress i dont need any more.. I may ebay those.. jeans? , yes most of the the skinnies I bough and never now rarely wear , all went!

soy I love the Gudrun, but I think its gone back now? Hope your DS is getting better.

ellaaella , that Anthropologie kimono is lovely.. £££ though, but ally lovely

len love the M&S top on you, well done for clearing the CC!!

Not JL have the striped marina in all sizes it loos like..
Huff I love that green kimono,.. (tempted now)

Talisan thanks for the Grazia code , I have ordered the green chino shorts on waitlist (tried them before in larger size , and they are great but come up big if anyone interested) and the black Santana also on waitlist

Plus blue chino shorts , the floral linen T , ( which i bet will be in the sale eventually , but hey ho, I saw it in JL and liked it and will go with my paprika Santana from last year which is hard to match) . Also the chevron animal print vest , hoping that will look great with the last years green Santana and the new black one ..
( I am trying to focus on making whole wardrobe work together rather than buying randomly)

And Then !!!! YES!!! yet another blue Wren!!) GrinGrinGrin.... Just so I can send it back with my previous full price invoice from the one I kept !! (bad, bad, bad, Laska!! --but they are being so mean with discounts , I dont care ...)

cherries I like both Marina on you , but the blue best ..

Laska2Meryls · 10/05/2019 11:49

I found some cold pizza in the fridge, just the thing !! but yes, its quite a hangover..

Laska2Meryls · 10/05/2019 11:54

..or maybe the colourful is my favourite ,,Cherries .... heck they are both good! keep them both, you derve it , ( and then you can be Cherries2Marinas ... )

grannycake · 10/05/2019 12:02

cherries i agree with Ninkaninus - the coloured Marina looks brilliant on you. It's definitely my favourite pic

neveradullmoment99 · 10/05/2019 12:03

The blue one is my favourite...but maybe its the photo. I do really like the other one too.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/05/2019 12:04

I agree, keep them both. The navy is practical and the stripey one is a bit different,
