Ooh it's lovely Laska!

FuzzyPuffling · 17/05/2019 17:34

Yikes you lot can all talk!

I have been perusing the White Stuff website and they have got some lovely linen dresses in. I'm tempted although I don't need one. More thought needed.

SoyYo · 17/05/2019 17:40

That’s such a lovely bag @laska and great to spot fellow Hushista incognito at the P.O. (obviously not on this thread or would have known you and your pink hair). Yes deffo keep that bag it’s just perfect.

@nink ah you’re a Mercurial one, your Pisces sensitive side will tell you off for the purchases but your twin side requires a lot of different fashion personas and plenty of variety or you’ll be bored!

I’ll see if over the weekend when I’m not feasting on crab and lobster I do a 12 sign fashion personality thing and then you can tell me if I’m totally wrong or not. I will not google for reference but just from memory on woo woo things I’ve absorbed over time. And if you know your rising sign then theory goes you’re a combination of both archetypes.

Actually the crab and lobster festival is a kind of country/beach affair with live music, lots of Norfolk foodie tents and craft stalls/art things. It’s lovely to talk to the producer of for example a craft beer or locally grown saffron, or the photographer etc etc. Then yes crab which is what Cromer is famous for and lobster which is for sale too. They usually cook a massive paella. It all happens on Evington lawns which is literally below our flat and so we can sit on our balcony and be nosy all day long 😎 I’m feeling sorry for the organisers and stall holders though, the weather looks atrocious atm.

Have a wonderful weekend even if it ends up being mainly indoors...

SoyYo · 17/05/2019 17:55

@Fuzzy nice to see you back. How is DH? It’s been super chatty here and great fun. I missed a lot too yesterday and took me a while to catch up (10 pages of thread chat Hmm) but don’t even try it, just dive right in.

Ellapaella · 17/05/2019 17:57

Lovely bag @Laska2Meryls - love the pink tropical sunset top too.
Palm tree sweat arrived - very pleased with it. It's a lovely summery colour and lends itself well for casual wear with denim. This is a small, comes up quite large but I like it like this so keeping.

Thanks SoYo.
DH is much the same physically but seems rather brighter. We had a good and productive (and supportive) chat the other night and it has helped us both.

Here are the dresses I like....what do you think? (Bearing in mind this is rural Cornwall)

Huffthepuff · 17/05/2019 18:06

That jumper looks great Ella! Are they the Hush shorts? They do not look like that on me 😂

NotAnActualSheep · 17/05/2019 18:09

Love the woo talk Grin. It always fascinates me how closely people do often follow the characteristics of their sign - though the logical part of me knows that there would also be other characteristics from other signs that would also fit..and we just see things that meet the "proper" criteria. I'm a Taurus and am ridiculously stubborn determined, like certainty/ routine, and do love beauty and nature (my job is environmental) and food (obviously). But lots of other people do too! I suppose we have an innate desire to make things fit certain classifications - like why we are attuned to see faces in things (face of Jesus in a pop tart kind of thing...).

cherries - I hope you have a lovely time with your parents. Its kind of you to drive to collect them, given you've been doing sooooo much travelling around recently!

nink - lol at the list. I don't want to do that - I'd be here all day.... I'm with soy - just enjoy the purchases and that you can make them without having to live on beans for the rest of the month. No need to justify to anyone! And as you say, it sounds like you have some gaps in your wardrobe after your clear-out.

soy - have a great time in Norfolk with the crabs...! Hope the weather behaves...its been lovely here again today, but has gone all grey now, and our forecast is looking a bit pants for the weekend. Joy...

That accessorise straw bag is lovely. I reckon I could cope with a small crossbody straw bag...that wouldn't get covered in sand. But I just had a look at other accessorize straw bags, and OMG - there are wicker ones that look like tiny little picnic baskets! How cute are they...

whisky lol! I love "tired" as a euphemism. Have a great time - you'll look fab. len - hope you have a great time with your friend too. Thats so exciting to have them moving back!

laska - what a coincidence about your doppelgänger! And yay for good service indeed - though it is annoying they were damaged in the first place.

So, I got the khaki wren in the smaller size and also never's studded sandals. Annoyingly they are both good. The jacket is better less oversized i think - but I'm really not sure I can justify both, and I think the blue one is better with more things I own. The sandals are (surprisingly) fab! They are really comfortable, and as the straps are so thick they actually cover quite a lot of the foot, so I don't feel too exposed. And with polish on the nails (not red yet) they don't look too bad... i think some sandal floodgates may have been opened here. Bum.

Ellapaella · 17/05/2019 18:18

Thanks @Huffthepuff - they aren't Hush shorts, they are from Debenhams last summer, about £8 in sale! I always size up in denim shorts, always always as they never look right in my usual trouser size.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/05/2019 18:24

Im a Scorpio :) @Ellapaella, I love that jumper. Tbh, I wasn't sure about it but you look great in it and its a gorgeous colour. One for my sale wish list!

NotAnActualSheep · 17/05/2019 18:27

Aaaargh - missed a page and a bit! Thats what happens if you try to multitask..
laska - fab bag! Glad you like it.
fuzzy - hello! yy - just jump back in as you want. Glad DH is mentally better, and hopefully getting physically better! Lovely dresses - I think they are very suitable though maybe only in my fantasy Cornwall in my head again..
ella - what a lovely colour that top is! You look great, as always.

I went to see my accountant this morning (interesting life...) and popped into Jenners for a coffee afterwards. There are some really nice linen/ cotton sundresses around - Mango, which hadn't really crossed my radar previously, looked great (though an L is a size 12, and I didn't see any XLs...). Also warehouse (as per previous discussions!) and oasis. Plus all much less £££ than hush. Didn't try anything on as i was in a bit of a rush - but I may at some point.

Ellapaella · 17/05/2019 18:28

Inspired by your pink sunset sweater @neveradullmoment99 😁
I'm a Taurus - also a lover of fine luxuries! I love delicious food, wine, lovely clothes and lovely things for the home. Strangely a lot of my nurse friends are also Taurus - we seem to be suited to the job, I can always spot a fellow taurean as soon as I meet them.

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 18:30

laska the sunset sweat looks great on you. Shame about the ombre hoodie, I had my eye on that.

melen and huff I might need to sit on the bench too now after my leather jacket purchase.

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 18:36

@gin hope you had a lovely day shopping in Liverpool. I also have a My JL card, the vouchers for free drinks and cakes are great!

@sheep I WAS going to try on the Daniel trainers today but didn't have time, have been running around after the dds today.

@melen hope you have a lovely evening with your friend. Gozo reminds me of my first holiday abroad with a boyfriend when we were 18. Went to Malta but visited Gozo for the day. Had a great time. We split up about a year later but hey ho! Was good while it lasted.

@laska just seen the bag, it is lovely! Really nice and summery. Think it would look nice with a colourful pompom.

NotAnActualSheep · 17/05/2019 18:38

I liked this one for example. And this red one and this safari-style one.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/05/2019 18:38

Sorry @Laska, I didn't read back. Sunset sweat looks great and I agree. How strange to see someone wearing it. I mean, how dare they! Bleedin cheek!! Grin
I loved that hoodie. It was one of the things on my wish list but it looks a bit ordinary in real life. Think you did the right thing posting it back. The bag looks lovely but its too frivolous for my life. I need something to stick all my junk in it.

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 18:39

Oh I missed a page too!

fuzzy nice to hear from you, glad your dh is feeling a bit brighter.

@ella nice sweat, pretty colour and looks great with denim

NotAnActualSheep · 17/05/2019 18:39

Oh - just seen that size 14 is plus sized in mango. Fair enough...

SoyYo · 17/05/2019 18:44

@Ella yes it’s a beautiful turquoise sweat and as every single thing you wear you manage to make it look soo cool! Just lovely for your beach walks this summer.
@Not another Taurus like @Ella. Stubborn yes but so loyal and hard working yes. It’s always La Dolce Vita around you lot (my DM was a Taurean too). Agree Mango is fab and must look there more often too.

@never I was trying to guess in my head what you are and immediately thought Scorpio! And I wasn’t wrong. Your waters run deep my friend.

Okay I’ll stop my woo woo talk.
Poor DH is doing the 1 1/2 hr drive to Norfolk later so I’ve cooked up a veggie chilli for all the boys (I’ll have a little with cauliflower rice) and off to throw a few things to take in a bag. He’s hurt his back silly sausage cleaning his bike today as it was due for an MOT. He loved the ride though. And now he’s taken our DS2 for his learner driver practice. He’s a braver man than me! 😬eek!

@Fuzzy I love the colours of the first dress you posted. Perfect Cornwall summer dress. Glad DH is feeling brighter and you’re both slowly recovering. Get It! It’ll cheer you up to wear it when the sun comes out.

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 18:45

Hope everyone is gearing up for a lovely weekend.

I'm going to Manchester tomorrow! I am beyond excited. I am going to the Victoria Wood tribute evening in Bury tomorrow evening, staying overnight in a Premier Inn and then on Sunday going to Bury Art Museum to see the Victoria Wood exhibition that I have been planning on seeing for ages. As well as the VW stuff, I am also looking forward to staying in a hotel by myself. I didn't realise until a few years ago what an introvert I am and really need time alone sometimes.

Laska2Meryls · 17/05/2019 18:56

fuzzy I love both dresses (th epale green one especially) where are they from? Yhey look like Saltrock /Seasalt / Mistral? ... They could be good for rural/ seaside Isle of Wight summer dresses also... (we have some local outlets her for those brands)

FuzzyPuffling · 17/05/2019 18:59

Laska they are White Stuff. They've got some lovely things at the moment (and 20% off for another day or so)

Ellapaella · 17/05/2019 19:04

@twosoups1972 have a lovely weekend, sound fantastic. Time to yourself sounds perfect.
Unfortunately I have a bladder infection and am feeling very sorry for myself, it's bloody painful! Mega antibiotics as docs are paranoid about me having bacterial infection so soon after the implant in my heart. So I am spending weekend trying to distract myself in anyway possible from this torture! Think it's a sign I am run down, we've had so much going on as a family this year and at work, I'm utterly exhausted by it all.

SoyYo · 17/05/2019 19:14

@Ella self care for you this weekend. Indeed you’ve had a Lot on your plate (dare I mention your kitchen refurb on top?) and tbh I was amazed at how fast you seemed to recover from your op. Like too fast.
I know you’re probably just being stoic but a water infection is no fun.
So TLC yourself and watch Netflix/sleep and try rest Flowers

@soups I had Radio 4 on when I was cooking and they were talking about V.Wood and the remembrance weekend celebration/statue. Have a wonderful time!

Really must go now. 👋👋

GinandGingerBeer · 17/05/2019 19:49

Oh ffs!
I fell asleep on the train and I'm now in Nottingham 😫😫
