Thanks @Ninka - I love them, and I think they look gorgeous. I actually did a stage makeup course when I was studying and I'm quite good at applying the slap, but when I look at myself in makeup, it's just not me anymore. It's so weird. (Within limits, of course.....I'm naturally blonde, so I'm never giving up my mascara!!!). I put on a "natural" look for today's passport photos, and they came out alright, I guess. Although you have to look like you've been flying with a screaming toddler on one side and a tantrumming pre-schooler on the other for 48hrs and they didn't order any food catering to your allergies in passport photos these days, so I think I managed to achieve the desired effect. Also, I just don't like highlighter. What is the point? I'm perimenopausal as it is - why do I need to look more shiny? That stuff does not make me look like Tinkerbell - it makes me look like I'm sweaty.

Yes, I find Lisa Eldridge is very good. A proper make up artist rather than an ‘influencer’. Calm, non- hysterical voice, a clear teacher and you don’t end up looking like a clown. I don’t find at all that make up makes me look older, but that may be because I’m already old 🤣. I don’t wear a lot but always wear it if I’m not wearing hair. Bald and no make up is just too faded for me. Takes me about three minutes: BB cream/blusher/eye brows/eyeliner/curl eyelashes/mascara/translucent powder/lipstick.

Heh! Your description of passport photos was awesome and it’s exactly what mine looks like (and I don’t even have young children anymore!)!

I think your face changes so much as you get older, the skin is different, your eyes, everything. And I guess we are in the habit of using whatever colours, textures and techniques used to work, but that doesn’t mean they’ll continue to work.

Like I said, I use a light touch. Don’t routinely wear foundation/concealer/powder and when I do I keep it very low coverage. I actually do use highlighter when I do a full face, but I use cream and again keep it very light. On a normal day I use eyeshadow, mascara and lip balm or lip tint of some kind, quite often just a coloured lip balm (burt’s bees do nice ones). Sometimes I wear lipstick but I drink a lot of hot drinks throughout the day so I get fed up of reapplying.

I like Bobbi Brown, it really suits my more mature face.

Thank you gin

ella Whistles have 20% off at the moment.

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 07:49

laska thank you for the trainer suggestions. I think one of the things I like about the Daniel ones is that they’re suede. And grey. The gold ones look fun but I want to stick to grey. The Puma ones are both suede and grey but the distinctive side stripe make them look a bit sporty. Daniel ones have very subtle branding.

Ninkaninus · 17/05/2019 08:08

soups I think that’s it settled now - you need to at least go and try them on.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/05/2019 08:18

I agree. You are never going to be happy with other ones! You will buy a second choice pair but still wanting the others until you eventually buy them! Then you will have 2!

Laska2Meryls · 17/05/2019 08:33

I also agree, once you have found 'The One' nothing else ever quite lives up.. Unfortunately my 'The Ones' are usually also expensive!
But if you do get them , ear them lots , dont save them for best just because they were expensive, ! Ive done that so often.( looking at You , suede fringed jacket Blush) Just wear them. Often, and you will get enormous pleasure from them every time you look at your feet..
I use my v. old Mulberry bag everyday now, (after many years of not doing so ) and scuff it around under my desk etc, it still looks great

Laska2Meryls · 17/05/2019 08:35

What are we looking forward to in the post today , Hushistas?

I have pink sunset sweat, cupar trainers and linen ombre winging their way to me..oh and Joules bag! (may not all be here today though)

Ellapaella · 17/05/2019 09:10

I have my palm tree sweater on the way but as I'm not a friend I have to wait for the old big standard delivery so I don't think it'll be today, tomorrow I'd guess.

Ellapaella · 17/05/2019 09:10

*bog standard

Laska2Meryls · 17/05/2019 09:22

Wow someone just snapped up my Marissa Dress!
Maybe I pitched it a bit low? . ( buy it now was half original price) anyway pleased I wasn't going to wear it again..

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 09:23

laska and ella looking forward to seeing your purchases.

I am Hush-ing it today - wearing white Hampstead top from last summer. But I think it has shrunk! It looks very short on me.

When I go out shortly I'll be wearing a lovely Hush navy blue jacket that I bought a few years ago and have worn loads. Not sure of the name but it was very popular.

Laska2Meryls · 17/05/2019 09:24

Ella ring Hush and ask to be put on friends delivery! when they knocked me off they restored it when i asked as they said they could see I was a good long standing customer (but I send back far,far more than I keep though , so not that good)

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 09:24

Wow that was quick laska! Always nice when you make a bit of money on Ebay. I think it's better to pitch a bit low and sell it. Of course now it's gone, I want it! Grin

I have nothing coming today! Just as well really as I have spent quite a lot. However I am thinking of ordering the Romeo jackets and sending somethings back as I could do with something longer that covers my bum!!! and that is lightweight. Noone has it on here though..or do they?

Well I am in my white stuff denim jeggings, crime London pewter trainers, hush charcoal wide top in charcoal and a grey longline vest. its dull here but planning to do my flower beds outside. I say that loosely as they are more like weed beds atm. Oh and the grass needs cut sigh

Ellapaella · 17/05/2019 09:39

Just tracked my parcel and hopefully it'll be delivered today

Ninkaninus · 17/05/2019 09:42

I’m waiting on my fitflops, a Breton top in white/peachy orange from whistles and ivory espadrille wedges from jigsaw.

And that is IT for this month!!

(I am hopeless at this non-spending lark)

neveradullmoment99 · 17/05/2019 09:44

@laska, yesterday the website was down for a few hours!!! Early hours of the morning.
