I’ve bought some rose gold sparkly fitflops today. So it turns out the kimono wasn’t my only purchase for this month... Blush

But, they were in the sale. And I needed another pair of comfortable flats for summer evenings if I want to go casual but pretty.

Laska2Meryls · 15/05/2019 15:24

Hey! Are you lot enabling me on the Hush trainers? I mean, how much encouragement do I need? 🤣
Not don't forget that I just sent back a couple of 'spare' sz10 Wrens. ...😉

Ninkaninus · 15/05/2019 15:39

Laska I admit to being an awful enabler in general, but particularly on shoes, jackets and bags.

I agree with cherries, your feet are important and for shoes to be used daily (or almost daily) I really think it’s worth spending up to your comfortable limit, because a) your feet deserve it, b) quality shoes make an outfit, and c) you might as well get the ones you really like!

Laska2Meryls · 15/05/2019 15:46

Ninja You are Officially Elected a True fully-fledged member of the Hushista Enablers. 🏆😉🤣🤣

petitepeach · 15/05/2019 15:52

Thanks everyone will take a look at the Hush V necks....
I bought quite a nice linen one from jigsaw but it’s a bit shapeless.... the search continues! Getting some good ideas......have tried to post 3 times and it won’t let me here’s hoping ......

NotAnActualSheep · 15/05/2019 15:56

Ooooh - those are lovely nink (now ninjanink I think!). V sparkly. its times like this i wish I had nice toes.

Yes laska. Yes we are. Grin But I'm not falling for the wren thing...! (Well - I may keep an eye out.. Wink ).

GinandGingerBeer · 15/05/2019 16:04

Kimono you say ... @NotAnActualSheep
You see this is why I have to stay away Grin

Rapidly scrolls back .....

Laska2Meryls · 15/05/2019 16:05

Ruddy autocorrect! Didn't notice it put 'Ninja' rather than Ninka ..

GinandGingerBeer · 15/05/2019 16:34

You absolute stars!
Thank you so much for luring me back! I absolutely adore one hundred stars kimonos and have been lusting after one for ages but felt they were a bit too £££.
There's a stockist near me and I often go in and contemplate their beautiful stock.
Kimono en route.... ha ha. Yay!

Tbh with you MN was getting me down (not this lovely thread of course) but I tend to look in active after coming on here then get myself all wound up. It's such a negative hostile place, so I just stayed away.
For far too bloody long!
So glad to be back.
Hello to new people too Smile

GinandGingerBeer · 15/05/2019 16:49

See what I mean....
I just thought, I'll just have a look in S&B topic and not look in active.
Someone has posted about sandals to wear with a denim skirt. This is a reply;

I didn't realise anyone other than my 70 YO MIL wore denim skirts, is it a thing now?

I mean why?! AngryConfused

GinandGingerBeer · 15/05/2019 16:50

I should have put that bit in bold....so it's clear it's a quote and not me 🤦🏻‍♀️

Personally I love a denim skirt.

SoyYo · 15/05/2019 16:51

Hellooo Gin go look at all those awesome kimonos (there’s a 10% discount too Smile) it’s so great to have you back and know all is well (except for manic work) and you have a lovely holiday to go to soon. There are 10% codes floating about too for Hush if you decide to go for the long Santana (wise floaty choice I say).

@nink love a good fitflop and yours are sparkly which I always like

@laska just get the Hush trainers!Grin

Off to Pilates now. I’m going to have to cut my Spanish break in half I’ve just found out...I’ll need to fly to Paris on June 6th for the day to deliver a presentation to the bigwigs. I have my boss on a promise to give me back the day off but most importantly that I can homework from Spain for extended periods in the future so I guess worth the effort to keep him to his promise. It’ll be a long day setting out at 4.30am and not back till after midnight (this is due to flight timetable rather than boss though) but I’ll still have another 5 days in Spain on hols to recover Wink

SoyYo · 15/05/2019 16:55

@Gin they’re just negative judgy horrible people about. I’ve been scared off posting too often in other S&B threads for that very reason too.
Denim skirts are super useful, functional and cross all age groups.

GinandGingerBeer · 15/05/2019 17:11

I've just skimmed the Zara thread. My brain has exploded
Jesus!
Right!
I must not look at ANY threads apart from this one.
Thanks @SoyYo Smile
I've ordered one!

dontcallmelen · 15/05/2019 17:36

Yeahy Gin glad you popped in, could be £££ though 😂
Laska yup get the hush trainers 10% off at the moment, just a slight nudge from me!
Nink ooh sparkle, forgets all about sensible trainers & rushes off to buy more sparkly stuff😳
Yy negative & spiteful, I just don’t get it & I like a denim skirt it’s on my list, Soy crikey sounds like that’s going to be a very long day but truly hope you get your wish of more homeworking from Spain.

Ninkaninus · 15/05/2019 18:03

Haha I quite like being a ninja!

Tbh (to whoever it was that said it), my toes aren’t great. I went for years not ever wearing sandals because I’m a perfectionist and I just couldn’t stand to show my toes. A few years ago I decided it was ridiculous to be so concerned with it and I made a decision to wear the sandals and summer shies I love whether my feet are perfect or not! life is short and I want to live it! I make sure my feet are well moisturised and I always make an effort to paint my toenails, and then I get out there and enjoy wearing beautiful things, because really, who gives a fuck, other than me?! I highly recommend this approach (Also applies to shorts, skirts, kimonos, red lisptick, and anything else one loves and wants to wear).

twosoups1972 · 15/05/2019 18:09

Just catching up!

@Soy love the soy milk meme Grin I'm going to show my dds - 2 of them are studying Spanish - one for A Level and one for GCSE.

@melen those trousers look gorgeous and what a bargain! I can almost feel the silky texture from looking at the picture Smile

@laska new clothes look great, lovely and summery....and I love the pink hair

Onto leather jackets.....well yesterday I treated myself to a few hours in town after I had dropped dd2 at her GCSE exam. Tried on the Massimo Dutti leather jacket I had had my eye on but had sold out online in my size. It was totally gorgeous, butter soft leather, under-stated, not too much hardware, fitted me perfectly. I dithered for a bit, checked their refund policy (one month) and after discussion with the sales assistant who assured me they only had a few left across all their branches....decided to buy it on the proviso I could always take it back. This is before the Whistles one arrived you understand Grin

It is this one:
www.massimodutti.com/gb/women/collection/leather/black-nappa-biker-jacket-c675010p8504754.html?colorId=800&categoryId=675010

It's a good price I think. I had wanted to wait to see if it goes down in their sale but it might have sold out by then.

Been out at work all day and have just come home to find a parcel from Whistles Grin So tomorrow or later tonight I will try both and post photos.

twosoups1972 · 15/05/2019 18:10

@ginger nice to see you back Smile

Ninkaninus · 15/05/2019 18:13

Oh I see is it was sheep.

See below! Smile

I think this should be the year that you just get yourself a nice pair of sparkly sandals and go for it!

Just today I was looking in the mirror and thought hmmm, my little toe is looking even worse than it used too...wonder if I should bother with pretty sandals this year... but I banished the thought pretty quickly. Who the fuck decided that only perfect people with perfect toes should be allowed to bare their feet?

Ninkaninus · 15/05/2019 18:38

Grrrr must mention ‘too/to’ and ‘it’s/its’ and any other misspellings like that are the fault of this useless predictive tex function.

Drives me crazy.

Binkybix · 15/05/2019 18:42

What kimono did you get gin?

Binkybix · 15/05/2019 18:47

I’m tempted by this fellow:

onehundredstars.co.uk/collections/kimonos/products/one-hundred-stars-coral-kimono

Thanks for all the well wishes btw - feel like death. Did a bit of work from home, might do same tmrw. Have big weekend planned!

Also, sorry if I don’t always namecheck yet - not got my head round all the names and who’s posted what yet.

dontcallmelen · 15/05/2019 18:54

Nink yy who the feck did decree that only perfect specimens should dare too bare toes etc etc, I have decided to ignore & don’t look at the bits of me that I’m not fond of.
Soups jacket looks fab💕 looking forward to seeing the whistles one.
Binky another really pretty kimono, definitely try & have another day wfh especially if you have a busy weekend planned.

Ellapaella · 15/05/2019 19:06

@GinandGingerBeer welcome back. Best to stay away from certain threads... there is a lot of negativity and twattery on mumsnet. I often read a thread and then start to feel the rage at the way some posters carry on. My absolute pet hate is the ones that only come on the S&B threads to be all dismissive and critical of other posters choices - and some people are so damn rude!! There is never any need to put people down - it really just shows what kind of a person someone is.

I read that Zara thread too - I noticed they started going on about this thread and how they were all convinced we were all working undercover for Hush Grin

Ellapaella · 15/05/2019 19:07

@Binkybix I love that kimono - have you ordered it?
