soups it’s from Phase Eight but I bought it at JL. Only size 18 left with them but maybe Phase Eight has still got them?

Ninkaninus · 13/05/2019 12:44

Oh and also good luck to DD on the exam! My daughters are through of all of that, thank goodness!

dontcallmelen · 13/05/2019 13:13

Soy the garden looks fabulous 😍 well done on the weight loss.
I’m currently scrubbing the garden furniture & going to start planting up my window boxes at the front & getting ready the pots at the back will be nice to have a bit more colour by the back door/kitchen windows.

I would by dd a house, so they finally get a garden/Ds a flat & definitely a bolt hole by the sea for all us to use, along with the beach hut & a vintage Mercedes convertible & a beautiful big shed with a wood burner, comfy armchairs, & with enough room that I could buy old furniture /restore so that I could ring the changes indoors.

dontcallmelen · 13/05/2019 13:24

My sunny patio, just going to start with planting some violas/lobelia.

Thanks for the garden ❤️ @len. I adore your patio set and the sun umbrella with flowers underneath 😍 where is it from?
The sun makes everything so much better including spring cleaning!

dontcallmelen · 13/05/2019 13:46

Yes I adore the sun & the brightness & really does seem to energise me The brolly is from Homebase bought it last year, but they usually do them each year.
The furniture set is Laura Ashley, which was plain wood & I painted it😂

Ninkaninus · 13/05/2019 13:47

Beautiful gardens! ❤️ I live in a flat at the moment and always miss having a garden when the sun starts to properly come out again.

We have a house that we don’t live in and it has the loveliest little courtyard. Someday I’m going to make it a beautiful little haven for us. 😊

SoyYo · 13/05/2019 14:07

@nink yes nice plan! Tbh my beautiful garden is my only consolation for leaving in a 70% Leave part of GB, it’s in a small market town in Cambs and my whole garden wouldn’t buy a broom cupboard in London.
Anyway, love a spring day like today in England. The rose bushes are all in bud, another week and they’ll be bursting.

SoyYo · 13/05/2019 14:09

living not leaving though that’s in my future plans too

Ellapaella · 13/05/2019 14:45

@SoyYo do you Comberton? I have close family there. Love the little Cambridgeshire villages.

Ellapaella · 13/05/2019 14:45

*do you know Comberton

SoyYo · 13/05/2019 15:22

@Ella yes I know Comberton, it’s lovely and not so far away but it’s south of Cambridge city and I live north of the city.

SoyYo · 13/05/2019 15:23

If you visit them let me know and we’ll have a mini Hush meeting (I’ll take you to visit Ely cathedral)

Ellapaella · 13/05/2019 16:10

Absolutely x😘

twosoups1972 · 13/05/2019 16:51

Thank you for all your good luck wishes to my dd. She's home now and says it went 'ok'. Biology tmw followed by English Lit, Chemistry and Drama later this week.

Soy and melen your gardens look fab!

Like the lottery plans! Think I would probably buy each my dds a house so they're set up for the future. And go on some amazing holidays. The thing I really want to do though isn't money related (well only a bit) - get a DOG. I so want a dog, so do dds 1 and 3. Problem is dd2 is very much against it and says it would make her uncomfortable in her own home.

Ellapaella · 13/05/2019 17:01

Good luck to Mini-Soups for the rest of her exams..
My step daughter is just about to start her A levels and my ds has his mocks coming up. Stressful times for them all.
If I won the lottery I'd definitely buy houses for all the dc and then spend a lot of time travelling and seeing the world. I'm already on a promise to buy @Laska2Meryls the biker boots she fell in love with last winter and would probably be getting a pair for myself as well.

Ellapaella · 13/05/2019 17:02

I am home from work boy currently stuck in my living room while our new wooden floor is being laid out on the hallway. Exciting! Every time I come home at the moment something new has been done.

twosoups1972 · 13/05/2019 17:07

Sounds good ella We also have wooden floor in our hallway, I love it. I had originally wanted to extend it into our dining room/lounge but dh prefers carpet.

dontcallmelen · 13/05/2019 17:11

Soups well at least you got an ok😂 hope all the rest of the exams goes well🤞🏻
Ooh yes a dog I like dogs, am terrified of cats can’t bear the way they move I couldn’t sit in a room with one.
Am also hankering after a dressing room, with proper shoe storage & walls lined with wardrobes & lots of soft close drawers with sections for belts/socks/underwear/makeup/hairdryer, also a walk in pantry with a cold shelf & a proper utility room with a Sheila’s maid loads of shelving with pretty storage for cleaning/laundry stuff, Belfast sink, a drinks fridge, I may have given this a lot of thought.

dontcallmelen · 13/05/2019 17:16

Ella it’s soo exciting when you can see progress, we have wooden floors in the kitchen & dining room very easy to keep clean as well.
Good luck too dc’s with the exams.🍀

twosoups1972 · 13/05/2019 18:01

Thank you ella and good luck too to your dss and your ds.

I'm not in a good mood this evening. I'm normally a competent efficient cook but things are not going right. Fed up with cooking different things for different people and serving at different times due to the dds' various conditions. I know they can't help it but it's bloody hard work at times. Just having a whinge really. I now have sausage rolls in the oven and a small toad in the hole with the left over sausages. Will have to make salmon for dd2 later as she can't/won't eat the sausages.

twosoups1972 · 13/05/2019 18:01

And I usually enjoy cooking but today it's getting me down.

Ellapaella · 13/05/2019 18:40

@twosoups1972 I love to cook on a weekend, something different to take my time over with a glass of wine in hand. What I hate is churning out the functional day to day meals - quick and easy, usually done in a hurry at the end of the day to feed hungry dc at the end of their school day and after work. Such a chore so I understand how you feel. I often cook for the dc first and again for DH and I later as he gets in so late on weekdays.

ilovecherries · 13/05/2019 19:51

I want a house like len as well.

Hope the exams go/are going well for everyone. Thank goodness those days are behind me, but given the
performance dd had about her finals a month ago, it went on longer than I was prepared for!

I nearly died (well, that’s what it felt like at the time!) of an allergy in Ely once. Not sure what happened, was staying with friends, out for a walk and started to sneeze and itch and within 15 mins was covered in a rash, face swollen so much I couldn’t see, mouth of fire. Ended up in A&E on steroids. Have never been back Grin.

I hate the day to day drudge of providing food. Quite happy to mess in the kitchen for hours, but hate the whole dinner on the table every night.

I’ve had a nice day though. Had a 5k run, took dog for a long walk in the sunshine, had a couple of telecons then messed about in garden. Not committed to doing anything other than basic maintenance in the rented house, but nice to be outside.
