I've loved reading back over the chat - sorry, I seem to disappear over weekends... (only post when sat at the computer trying to pretend to myself that i'm working...and yesterday was so manic I was actually working). I have to say, i did snort out my coffee at the talk of cherries' incontinence trousers and the bon marche top. Also the talk of Australian camper van trips
. BIL lives in NZ with his (kiwi) wife and we keep thinking we should go over to see them - but the travel is putting us off... We will one of these days - as DS (7) would love it I think.
Also loving all the photos and talk of gardens...you are all much more green-fingered than me. Our garden is a jungle at the moment (and for the past few years TBH - neither DH nor me really know what to to and really don't have the time to do anything. Also, it doesn't help that it seems to be being used as a fox nursery at the moment, so we're too scared to mow the lawn in case the mother fox decides we are threatening the cubs (sooooo cute and fluffy) and goes for our knees. I think I'd trade in all this talk of dream houses for someone to totally remodel our garden and then come and maintain it... It makes me quite anxious going out there at the moment to be honest, so I can't even enjoy it. Bah.
Also I'm hearing you all on the cooking woes. DH does most of the cooking for us - but he's given up on DS who hardly seems to eat anything apart from pasta and peas (and chocolate). So I sort his meal out, but it is mind numbing - and I'm sure he's getting a hundred sorts of vitamin deficiency. And I'm really impressed with the dieters - the fast800 thing (and low carbing in general) sounds hardcore - but soy - it sounds like you have lost loads just in a week! Must be very motivating. I'm just plodding along with "normal" eating - but more mindfully, and I'm not putting weight on, which is something (but then I haven't been too strict with the wine/ gin/ cider/ mojitos). I'm not really in a dieting mindset tbh. Seem to have gone full-hormone over the past few months with disturbed sleep/ nightsweats/ foggy brain and lack of motivation for anything. Not much fun.
soups - I'm glad your DD managed her exam without too much pain - and soy glad your DS is still engaging with his therapist. Also, its really nice she's able to come to your house!
Anyway, on clothes, the purchases sound great. I'd love to see the Miriam when it arrives huff. I love the style of it on the model - though wonder if it would veer into full tent territory with me. Also, glad soy's star shorts and laska's chino shorts are a success. nink - your outfit (from yesterday!) is brill - I love the fun t shirt and the jacket. never - the seattle jacket looks great. The tassels on that are much more sensible than on the bolero huff and I bought!
I caved and tried the striped marina and (surprise surprise) a blue wren. The marina was nice, but I returned it as a) it wasn't especially flattering b) I thought it was too "formal" to get too much wear for me, and also a bit too distinctive to wear too much and c) I have about a zillion summery skirts. But the wren I do like! It is big and floppy - but I like that. And the material is so lovely and soft. I may have got away with a size down, but I like the drapeyness. So I'm keeping that. Also the moorish kimono is staying - it is lovely. Even if i only wear it as a dressing gown, it is still lovely.
