Diana came into my daughters office just after her divorce to get some tax advice. They were not expecting her and my daughter's first thoughts were how tall she was, how thin and how squeaky clean she looked.

Wow, imagine looking up from your desk and seeing Diana standing there! If you weren't around in the 80s/90s it's hard to comprehend how famous she was. She was everywhere, and that was the days before social media too! I think the only other royal who ever had that level of fame was Edward VIII when he was PoW.

I'm not sure if this will come out, but this is scanned from a print out of CCTV with my DF and Diana. He worked with her a lot (he was a jeweller) and brought it home to show me and my DB when we were little.

He loved her (I think he fancied her), he was 5ft 10" and you can see she's taller than him. I remember my DM breaking the news that she'd died to him , like you would that a family member had passed away.

Princess Anne has a skin condition - psoriasis I think, or maybe eczema. So that's why she wears gloves quite a lot.

I think Kate's event today must've been private or we'd have seen photos. She's off to Wales with William next week and then Bletchley the week after.

@SweetestSugar I promise I wasn't!! Makes me wonder how strategic/managed these things are...
It seems odd the photographers would go in to Frogmore if there was no baby...and I did see them with my own eyes.
The Long Walk heaving this morning with the RVO ppl parking who are going to the service- Kate apparently parked elsewhere Grin but everyone looked amazing.
Machine gunned security men at Frogmore gates but all very smiley-can't imagine they'd have to fight off many recipients of the Royal Victorian Order.
And I'm away for the weekend now so missing all the fun.

Other news just in is that HM will be attending Gabriella Windsor's wedding after all, with "members of the royal family", probably Edward and Sophie.

They are the go-to royals for weddings aren't they? Charles is probably always busy, Anne wouldn't have time for anything so frivolous as weddings and who'd want Andrew??

I always expected the Queen would go to Gabriella's wedding. There might be quite a few other Royals there but I think they're not saying who because they want it to be Gabriella's day - as it should be.

Edward and Sophie are professional wedding guests for foreign weddings. I don't think they necessarily perform that function for family weddings in the UK.

I'm pressed for choice which is the favourite of those outfits. I like the blue dress but maybe that's because she looks happiest in that photo. The green dress with cream hat is rather pleasing but I'm less keen on the pink.
