Baby Sussex shares a birthday with none other than Uncle George Clooney!

I'd better get started on the next thread...

Aaah lovely news! I'm looking forward to some gorgeous pictures of them all. How lovely that Doria was there for the birth too.

Love the slithering (slytherin?!) pictures upthread too, how peculiar it is. There are enormous pictures of the King of Thailand everywhere around the country. It really stinks of all that's bad with monarchies instead of real democracies.

TipseyTorvey · 06/05/2019 16:03

Ooh Queen does that mean we can mention Amal then 🤣

Thedarklady · 06/05/2019 16:03

George was born around 4pm and they didn't show him until after 7.30pm the next day.

Horsemad · 06/05/2019 16:05

Not sure why it was necessary to announce Meghan was in labour early afternoon when she'd already given birth at that point 🙄

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 06/05/2019 16:05

Going back to those slithering pictures does anyone else think it's because the King of Thailand(?) thinks even his own family want to murder him? It would make it hard for people to kill /attempt to kill you.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/05/2019 16:07

Thread the new...

I'm delighted for M&H, so glad it all went well... but I'm especially pleased for her mum who has been so dignified throughout all the Markle family shenanigans of the past year! Congrats to grandma Doria, I'm sure it's been a very special day for her and she must be absolutely besotted with her little grandson 💐

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 06/05/2019 16:13

horse I think her established labour was quick. They had promised to tell us when she was in labour but she went into labour and delivered in the early hours of this morning, when no-one would have been at work to post it (I'd imagine there are very few staff allowed to announce on the official website). So they posted, after the birth, that she went into labour in the early hours of the morning, to keep their promise and get the press ready, so that the press could announcing the birth and film Harry's video.

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 06/05/2019 16:14

....thereby keeping press happy.

allworthwhile · 06/05/2019 16:28

@SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea They could have easily shared it at 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11am, 12pm by that logic though...?

floraloctopus · 06/05/2019 16:47

Nicholas Witchell on the BBC said something about the royal family not knowing straightaway.

SevenSeasofRye · 06/05/2019 16:51

How does anyone know that Doria was present at the birth? Pure speculation.

floraloctopus · 06/05/2019 16:52

I wonder if they will ask Kate to do the photos?

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/05/2019 17:11

That would be a surefire way of shutting up the naysayers wouldn't it?

AudacityOfHope · 06/05/2019 17:25

Guys, do we really care about the timings of posts on websites and social media? If this wasn't such a nice thread I'd have added some more colourful language here.

Does it honestly matter.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 06/05/2019 17:27

Exactly. The announcement said she went into labour in the early hours. We heard of the birth within ten hours. Who needs a centimetre by centimetre update of her cervix?

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/05/2019 17:39

Exactly. Baby is here, they're both happy and all the talk of them not announcing the birth etc was a load of bollocks that got a lot of people's knickers in a twist!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 06/05/2019 17:42

I think a lot of the difficulty came from wanting it to be daytime news both here and in the US. This way kept everyone happy given the time of the birth and presumably the time labour became established enough to announce.

floraloctopus · 06/05/2019 17:43

Maybe it was carefully orchestrated to cover up the time it took for the surrogate to travel to Frogmore Wink Grin

allworthwhile · 06/05/2019 17:56

I know but some people on these threads do like to make assertions @SevenSeasofRye Wink

Gooseysgirl · 06/05/2019 18:57

I think the name Charles will feature... she seems to have a very good relationship with her FIL and it was lovely how he stepped in to walk her up the aisle on the day of the wedding.

SunshineCake · 06/05/2019 19:18

Do you think you're funny, FloralOctopus?

BertrandRussell · 06/05/2019 19:28

“Do you think you're funny, FloralOctopus?”

I think she is.

Or maybe it too k that time fior the baby to change from lizard to human form? Grin

Harry was really sweet. I wonder whose horses they are. Harry doesn’t ride, does he? I mean- obviously he can and does. But does he ride for pleasure?
