Apparently Chris Evans said on his radio show that the royal baby has arrived. He said he knew something.....

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/05/2019 14:39

HRH Duchess Kate has more photos and details from today, including a speech. I still don't think public speaking is Kate's forte but she looks very at ease in the photographs where she's meeting the children.

As suspected, the dress is by Emilia Wickstead.

KM looks ok... but I wish she'd take a page from Max's book occasionally and surprise us with something more exciting!! And that school don't half play on the fact she's their patron... saying no more or I'll get myself into trouble 🤫

Butterymuffin · 01/05/2019 15:29

Press release now out saying Harry will visit the Netherlands on 8 & 9 May next week then travel on. This seems to have been taken as sign baby is now here! They wouldn't confirm that trip if still waiting, surely? Saw all this on Twitter.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/05/2019 15:34

Kate looks lovely in that dress but those nude shoes have given her Barbie feet

I'm sure he wouldn't confirm an international trip unless the baby had arrived safely.
The DoS hasn't been seen in public for weeks.

SlipperOrchid · 01/05/2019 15:39

Yes I expect so and also that he is currently bonding with the baby before he goes away for a couple of days. Without getting into a debate about whether it is necessary in their case, I presume he is currently in paternity leave. I hope so anyway!

evilharpy · 01/05/2019 16:00

I imagine if there's been a press release confirming Harry's trip then a birth announcement will follow shortly.

Gooseysgirl · 01/05/2019 16:10

I agree... can't see them confirming trip unless baby has already arrived - how exciting!!

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/05/2019 16:12

Either that or she isn't as pregnant as we thought and isn't due til mid May! We only have the word of a random person in Liverpool who said she told them she's due end of April/early May. Maybe she was less than 12 weeks when the pregnancy was announced?

I’m confused by the whole thing. Also far too over invested. I have to admit I can’t wait to see the baby.

My thoughts exactly!

frugalkitty · 01/05/2019 16:27

I can't get too excited by Harry going away quickly after the baby is here. When I had DS2 my DH went to Finland for ten days with work when DS was three weeks old. It was the first week back after the Easter holidays so I had to just crack on and get DS1 to school and DD to preschool and basically get on with it. I hope Baby Sussex is here already and they're enjoying the first few days not knowing what the heck has just happened to them

I like Kate's outfit today, definitely one of her 'uniform' choices.

itswinetime · 01/05/2019 16:27

I do find it odd when people don't annoyed the birth! Not just royals it seems to be a bit of a thing now. I get no photos I get no name if they don't want but a simple baby Sussex arrived safely with the date and time mother and baby doing well! I think instead of allowing them private time it is only ramping things up! With all the speculation Each to their own though I do wonder how you decide when to make the announcement if not when the baby is born though? How did Zara and Philip handle announcing their children? Of course she could well not be due for ages the place did only say spring didn't they? I guess that gives you till the end of May

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/05/2019 16:30

She went on mat leave ages ago. So I’d have thought it was because she was getting near her DD.

Really I must go and do something useful and stop concerning myself with baby Sussex’s arrival.

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 01/05/2019 16:34

Whilst Kate's dresses are often seen as boring. I think they are her staple "uniform" - chosen because they are a simple, classic cut that won't date. I think it's like the queen - lots of different colours but a signature style of dress/coat. As a future queen it makes sense for Kate to dress like that but in a younger style.

those nude shoes have given her Barbie feet
Grin I agree but I can see the appeal of nude shoes - no worrying about getting the colour right for the outfit. same reason I want nude sandals Blush

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 01/05/2019 16:39

What do royal women put in their handbags? Surely they have no keys and have staff to look after phone, etc.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/05/2019 16:40

Phone, tissues, san pro, lipstick? I don’t know.

yellowalstroemeria · 01/05/2019 16:49

They always remind me of figure skaters when they pull their tan tights over their boots Grin

SlipperOrchid · 01/05/2019 16:49

Kate really shouldn’t copy a woman in her nineties!!!!!

Leto manages to look both current and stylish. Poor Kate is so terrified of the criticism she plays it very safe. Such a waste of money buying loads of the same styles.

SlipperOrchid · 01/05/2019 16:50

Leti* my phone keeps auto changing her name Smile

GrumbleBumble · 01/05/2019 16:51

Frugalkitty 3 weeks pah! I got an hour and a half at home with DH. He brought us back from the hospital popped out for fish and chips, are and left to report for duty. Ahhh the joys of being a military wife!

floraloctopus · 01/05/2019 17:09

Pah! an hour and a half - the 'D'H I had was in the pub.

AudacityOfHope · 01/05/2019 17:19

Those coat dresses are not really a younger style. She's a year younger than me and I can barely imagine my mum wearing one Confused

Thedarklady · 01/05/2019 17:40

I like the dress as in it's classic and work appropriate but she has the same one in lilac!

I really don't like the Mulberry Amberley clutch though, what is that strange fastening?? Especially as it's almost £500.
