I am NOT enjoying choosing my wedding dress - pics

I’m getting married on my 45th birthday, in just a couple of weeks - and I’m so excited.

Except I’m at my fattest. Ever. And suddenly who I feel I am inside doesn’t match what’s in the mirror.

I simply can’t find a dress that suits me.

I keep thinking I’ve found ‘the one’ - then I see the pics and just feel I look heinous, and back it goes.

If I show the pics, can anyone out there give me honest feedback, make suggestions etc?

It’s a tiny registry office wedding followed by a nice dinner after.

TIA

You are right about dress 3!! The first 2 were much better.
If you are near a JL I would try that Reiss dress on though

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 22:28

No risk that a guest will be wearing my dress - we’re not having any!

Well, apart from my dses and one of their gfs Smile

I really wouldn't worry about what the scales say. You have a lovely figure that is in proportion. Do you have the right sized bra? I find that makes such a difference.

BaronessBomburst · 16/04/2019 22:28

I like the red shoes. They need to stay!

eurochick · 16/04/2019 22:28

Hmm. You look lovely but none of those dresses is right. They are all a bit rowdy. I think you're trying a bit hard to do a "it's my second wedding/I'm a mother/ I'm not a mere slip of a girl" thing. It's your wedding. Go for something special that makes you feel fab.

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 16/04/2019 22:28

I like how the scribbling on the face got less and less.

Like others I was looking for a heffalump and heffa you are not.

Your boobs look great in the last dress but i dont think that neckline is flattering on many people and I'm not sure about the colour or shoe choice.

The green dress is nice but not for your wedding.

If it wasn't a wedding what style of dress or outfit would you choose.

You look like different people in these pics thought i could we blonde hair on pic2.

I'm younger than you and would love your figure now

I hope this thread helps you see you dont have to berate yourself x

eurochick · 16/04/2019 22:29

Dowdy not rowdy ffs.

pictish · 16/04/2019 22:29

The first dress is perfect on you. The second is also lovely.

StormBringers · 16/04/2019 22:29

You’re figure is good, but the dresses are t quite right. Dress - is a good shape but the colour isn’t right, 2 is better but not special. 3 isn’t your cut.

You need a day in some big shops trying on.

I always get compliments on my dress, I’ve never told anyone in real life I’d given up until I saw it in bloody Tesco. Perfect dress. Just keep trying

TokyoSushi · 16/04/2019 22:29

OK I think I get the type of thing you're after, maybe something like this?

Dress 2 is lovely though, I'd perhaps lose any red shoes.

Have a fabulous day!

user1474894224 · 16/04/2019 22:30

Dress 1 or 2 are great. I love the shoes I think they are gorgeous. I don't think you are a heffer at all. You will look beautiful and gorgeous. Your dress doesn't have to scream 'bride' it has to say I'm happy/comfortable/glamourous/gorgeous etc etc Keep to your own style. Good luck.

SteveTheSpiderPlant · 16/04/2019 22:30

I love dress one for your wedding. Dress 2 is also lovely on you so get that for another occassion.
You don't look fat at all, your figure is lovely.

StormBringers · 16/04/2019 22:30

I agree with the comments about too floaty, dress 2 the most. Way too much material on your boob. Your shape may have changed but it’s still good and something with more shape and less bunching or float will slim you

Connieston · 16/04/2019 22:31

I'm shite at fashion but all those dresses look lovely on you. If you are particularly in love with the shoes start with them and make them the feature, perhaps with a simpler dress. I totally loved the first floaty white one. But then a striking fitted matching red dress would look awesome. You'll be fine hen honest xxx

PresidentHump · 16/04/2019 22:32

Treat yourself to an off the peg Vivienne Westwood frock. Even the cheaper ones are cut brilliantly and are so flattering. Go to bravissimo. Get a new bra

Ohyesiam · 16/04/2019 22:32

You look great in 1 and 2, you are WAY too harsh on yourself.
I like the shoes, but they don’t t go with the dresses.

Blueuggboots · 16/04/2019 22:32

Dress 1 is a hideous colour on you.
Dress 2 is lovely
Dress 3 is the wrong neckline for you.

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 22:33

I was looking at that Monsoon one today, but I wasn’t sure about the birds...

I’ve got three more coming from ASOS and two from Nancy Mac.

It’s costing me loads in p and p.

They're not 'special' enough OP. Lovely wedding guest dresses but you're the bride! I have a sense of the style you're going for now though so let's see...

Also - you could at least have been a bit fat!! What kind of supermodel were you before?!?!
