I am NOT enjoying choosing my wedding dress - pics

I’m getting married on my 45th birthday, in just a couple of weeks - and I’m so excited.

Except I’m at my fattest. Ever. And suddenly who I feel I am inside doesn’t match what’s in the mirror.

I simply can’t find a dress that suits me.

I keep thinking I’ve found ‘the one’ - then I see the pics and just feel I look heinous, and back it goes.

If I show the pics, can anyone out there give me honest feedback, make suggestions etc?

It’s a tiny registry office wedding followed by a nice dinner after.

TIA

I like dress 2

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 16/04/2019 22:23

And don't know if those are the shoes are the ones you're intending to wear, but I find that shoes with ankle straps make legs look short (unless you've got the legs of a gazelle)

Candleglow7475 · 16/04/2019 22:23

Not keen on dress 2 for a bride (sorry)

missmouse101 · 16/04/2019 22:23

I love dress 2! With cream flowers in your hair or the bouquet maybe!

NeverTalksToStrangers · 16/04/2019 22:23

Dress 2 not weddingy enough. I like it though. Very Agatha Christie. I loved the John Lewis one someone posted.

Dress 3...makes my boobs look like a bolster...

I like the shape of both of those dresses on you. It's just finding the right colour/design.

LorelaiRoryEmily · 16/04/2019 22:25

That Reiss dress is stunning!

pinkgloves · 16/04/2019 22:25

Not dress three.

Stilltryingtocatchwind · 16/04/2019 22:25

I prefer dress 1 so far.

To lighten your mood but off topic is that a tiny set of bed stairs for a dog, cat or your very small future husband!

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 16/04/2019 22:25

Lower neckline I think.

AppleKatie · 16/04/2019 22:25

Ok,

  1. All dresses nice but none of them scream ‘it’s my wedding day!’ to me.
  2. You’re not fat.
  3. Are you dead set on red shoes? They don’t do it for me.
Redorangeyellowgreen · 16/04/2019 22:26

Dress 2 is a popular style for wedding guests at the moment! So that's a bit of a risk. It's a nice dress though.

If I were you I'd go for a block colour (I think ivory would look nice on you if you're not avoiding it) and midi length.

Cloverisover · 16/04/2019 22:26

Second one is lovely I think - a good colour and shape for you, especially with your hair up. First one I wasn't keen on.

Mamaslave18 · 16/04/2019 22:26

Have you tried dress 3 with the shoes from the first pic?

Zofloramummy · 16/04/2019 22:26

Try a really decent bra, I always find a balconette is better for me.
Under boob pants are a must. I think a natural waist would suit you and maybe a slightly lower neckline?

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 22:26

Haha, they’re dog stairs!

Bugger. The red shoes are the only thing I like so far.

I’m hopeless at this.

Dress 2 the best so far

Dress 3 doesn’t look good

SnowsInWater · 16/04/2019 22:27

I like dress 2 😊

Aimily · 16/04/2019 22:27

Of those 3
Dress 1 I'm not keen, the style doesn't suit you, might be the cut
Dress 2 is lovely and looks nice ob
Dress 3 is my favourite!! I love it and it looks amazing onyou, not sure what you mean but it makes your boobs look like a bolster, I think it's the way you are standing?

Zofloramummy · 16/04/2019 22:27

You have a lovely figure you just need to feel confident in yourself

SaveOurSausages · 16/04/2019 22:27

I think they are too floaty OP. I think in your head you're the "fat girl" so you are choosing floaty dresses to cover it.

I did the same with my wedding dress, chose all floaty ones and felt fat in them. Then the wedding dress shop owner chose a fitted one (a proper wedding dress, corseted from top right over my hips) and it looked amazing.

Now obviously you're not looking for full on wedding dress material but perhaps something more fitted would be more flattering?

Just to stress though NONE of those dresses make you look fat! I actually think dress 3 is lovely and would look fine with a flesh coloured bra. But I can tell you don't feel great in them.
