I am NOT enjoying choosing my wedding dress - pics

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 21:22

I’m getting married on my 45th birthday, in just a couple of weeks - and I’m so excited.

Except I’m at my fattest. Ever. And suddenly who I feel I am inside doesn’t match what’s in the mirror.

I simply can’t find a dress that suits me.

I keep thinking I’ve found ‘the one’ - then I see the pics and just feel I look heinous, and back it goes.

If I show the pics, can anyone out there give me honest feedback, make suggestions etc?

It’s a tiny registry office wedding followed by a nice dinner after.

TIA

Dress 2 is a serious case of dangerous curves - your figure is stunning.

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 22:35

That’s just it, Wine. I think I’m trying not to look like a bride, and I’m veering into Berketex territory.

But then I got a bridey one from Lindybop and looked such a tit that that went back too.

I like dress 3 with different shoes. You look lovely with your face unscribbled Smile

MrsJamieFraser2 · 16/04/2019 22:37

I like this Reiss one?

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 22:37

I like those Needle and Thread ones...

I like dress 1 with the red shoes and it could easy be style in a retro glamour kind of way and it is nice
I like dress 2 as well,
Hate dress 3

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 16/04/2019 22:37

Monsoon have some lovely dresses. I dont know your budget but this seems your style

uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_40,mon_40.1/6402054606

Or this, simpler (You could get cheaper elsewhere) but still has an edge

uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_40,mon_40.1/6402124608

SmellsLikeAdultSpirit · 16/04/2019 22:38

You have a lovely figure.
I don't like 1 and 3. 2 looks lovely but perhaps not special enough for a wedding
The monsoon dress linked twice is gorgeous

MoreProseccoNow · 16/04/2019 22:38

Agree with @Blueuggboots.

What about:

Or this:

mrwalkensir · 16/04/2019 22:38

blimey - yep - you're not just gorgeous, you don't look 45. Love the colour of the second.... think it's great tbh, but then I wouldn't want to be full-on "bride" at my wedding

WineIsMyCarb · 16/04/2019 22:39

This would be heaven on you:

www.ghost.co.uk/iris-dress-oyster-dx53ca-n29

Sorry it's not midi or in any way fitting the brief!!

FrozenMargarita17 · 16/04/2019 22:39

Op you have an amazing figure! I thought you were going to post a picture that looks like me ! Massive saggy boobs, big saggy baby belly and massive thighs/bum. You look amazing!

FirstOfMyNameMotherOfCats · 16/04/2019 22:39

You have a great figure. Might be a controversial view but those dresses are not fabulous enough.

I say double down on the red!

The shoes work, and you'd look amazing all in red. I have similar colouring to you and pastel shades do nothing for me. I know it's not "weddingy" but stuff that, it's your day, you do it your way

Dress shape I would go for the fitted around bust styles, v-neck maybe crossover

jackstini · 16/04/2019 22:39

I really like the Reiss dress and the one that chosennone put up

Structured around the bust and then flowing I think would really suit you - my problem area is also tummy!

I was another poster expecting you to be much bigger than your pics show! - you have a fabulous figure

Also good legs but agree with pp ankle straps do make legs look shorter, do you have other shoes?

dorisdog · 16/04/2019 22:40

Oh, you're going to get ALL the conflicting opinions. I LOVE dress two. And the red shoes. AMAZING as far as I'm concerned. I'd marry you ;-)

(Also, you're so not fat)

AlexaAmbidextra · 16/04/2019 22:41

Firstly, you are not fat. Dresses 1 and 2, the shape looks lovely on you but could you find something in a less drab colour. Don’t like dress 3, not a good shape for you.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 16/04/2019 22:41

Are you drunk?! You're slim and beautiful, bloody hell I was expecting something totally different!

I like both dresses, and the shoes are gorgeous. Prefer dress #1, it's stunning and v romantic.

nettie434 · 16/04/2019 22:41

I liked dress 1. 2 was nice but agree it looked more like a guest dress. The red shoes were great - preferred them to the boots. Less keen on 3. Hope you have a wonderful day - you will look lovely.

chocolateworshipper · 16/04/2019 22:42

Dress 3 is definitely my favourite on you - just a different bra maybe? But oh my goodness - I wish I was your size! You are NOT fat.

Amara123 · 16/04/2019 22:43

What about Hobbs? This is pretty and you could wear red shoes with it.

www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0119-5156-9845L00&productvarid=0119-5156-9845L00-MULTI-12&refpage=dresses/occasion-dresses

It has a high neckline but a good bra would help!

Musmerian · 16/04/2019 22:44

Love the green one. I would really recommend a proper bra fitting as well. ( Not M&S they’re hopeless) Rigby and Peller if you can or anywhere that sticks brands like Prima Donna. Will make a huge difference to how you feel.

BitOfFun · 16/04/2019 22:44

Does it have to be white? I am the same age as you (with similar body issues) and got married last month in a Phase Eight dress that was actually pretty flattering.

Yabbers · 16/04/2019 22:45

I saw the first pic and thought “pah, she’s not big at all” then you posted You’re all very kind - but I’m 13 bloody stone and now I’m wondering if you are 9ft7 as I’m 12 stone and look way bigger than that!

1 looks lovely. 2 does as well but not wedding. And you’re right about the bolster with 3 😄

You’ll look lovely on your wedding day, brides always do.
