On every thread where someone posts a picture of sandals to ask for advice, theres always a chorus of 'hideous', 'granny', 'fugly' etc. So please share some photos of sandals that you think are nice, stylish, chic, non-stomach-churning, whatever. Bear in mind that many of us need sandals to be comfortable and suitable for lots of walking. I promise no snarky comments!

Firemanking they look really comfy, I like the elastic, my feet don’t sweat so I think they would be comfortable, might have to add them to the list of ‘sandals I need to buy’.

FiremanKing · 24/04/2019 19:44

More photos!

Once in they don’t look elastic.

Sole looks grippy which is a plus.

OhSnake · 25/04/2019 10:18

Desperately looking for new sandals I've just read through all the recommendations. Love the look of Office Hallie and Moshulu Wasabi, anyone who owns these do they come up true to size and would they work for wide feet?

FiremanKing · 25/04/2019 11:23

The ones I bought are Steve Madden in TK Maxx. The princely sum of £19.99

He does half sizes which is what I need. 5.5.

www.tkmaxx.com/women/shoes/sandals/black-double-strap-flat-sandals/p/25346478

Lots of other styles. I can’t speak for the quality as I’ve not bought this brand before but they appear sturdy.

I bought different pairs online and had them delivered to a store. Then I took the parcels back to my car, tried them all on and then took back the ones I didn’t want and was refunded immediately.

ElspethFlashman · 25/04/2019 11:42

So if anyone's interested in the Office Maiden low wedges I posted about the other day (even though they're not flat) , I got them and can confirm that they are super soft and comfy and the straps are like a kittens paw on your skin. They are also a proper low wedge. They're actually too low for me! I feel I may as well be wearing the flat version.

BUT some people on here I know will have had a frustrating search for low espadrille wedges for the summer so I thought I'd say how nice feeling they were, even if I am now going to send them back and buy the higher version.

"Love the look of Office Hallie and Moshulu Wasabi, anyone who owns these do they come up true to size and would they work for wide feet?"

Moshulu Wasabi - true to size yes, and I would say the width is average or maybe slightly generous but not hugely so. Worth a try unless your feet are very wide.

sammy891 · 25/04/2019 12:55

Thanks AnotherEmma, I will order a pair and see how they come up. Hopefully they will work because my feet aren't too wide.

Shimy · 25/04/2019 12:57

Ohsnake, where did you get those from? They look like a solid pair with good support.

DarlingNikita · 25/04/2019 13:09

Piling on to say I really like OhSnake's ones too!

OhSnake · 25/04/2019 13:24

Thanks! They're Clarks, but I got them from Amazon - think maybe they're from last year as Clarks doesn't seem to be selling them any more. www.amazon.co.uk/Clarks-Womens-Ferni-Wedge-Sandals/dp/B01K9JO9O4/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_5?s=shoes&crid=H81U5Z14VS10&keywords=clarks+ferni+fame&sprefix=clarks+ferni+%2Cshoes%2C140&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1556183848&sr=1-5-fkmrnull They come in silver and yellow too, but I like the black ones best Smile

superstar63 · 25/04/2019 13:56

I tried the Office Maiden wedges yesterday and I can also agree that they are super comfy BUT I found the outside of my foot was hanging over the edge very slightly and I don't have particualrly wide feet I ddin't think.

I am not sure whether to just buy them anyway in the blush/nude colour. Anyone else have this problem?

I also like the Moshulu Wasabi for a flat sandal but not tried them yet.

DarlingNikita · 25/04/2019 14:20

Thanks, OhSnake. I rather like those yellow ones, actually.

ElspethFlashman · 25/04/2019 17:50

I didn't really, or at least maybe they did but didn't notice!

I'm trying the higher version which is annoyingly only on the Office website (which is shit) whereas the lower and flat ones are on ASOS.

Office also have a simpler high black espadrille wedge on sale on ASOS called Marbs or something but I can confirm that a) only people without bunions need apply and b) Penneys/Primark have an absolutely identical style in at the moment.

Sorry, back to flat shoes talk!

AcerTree · 28/04/2019 16:56

Superstar63 - I have just ordered the Office Maiden in a wide fit so I will report back as to how wide they are when they arrive.

My latest gems are these ones in olive suede. So soft and comfy!

I've been a Birkies girl for years (used to be Mayari, but am now all about the Arizona). The only problem is they aggravate my plantar fasciitis. I bought some Palemeiras last summer, which look lovely, but I haven't managed to break in yet.

This year I bought this pair: strivefootwear.com/capri-black.html, which are very comfortable and I think quite stylish (DH didn't think so though, he prefers my Birkies).

I've also got an old pair of Sam Edelman Gigi's, which are remarkably comfortable even for walking little distances, despite their daintiness.

I ate not being able to kick sandals off and slip then back on quickly though.

I had ordered the Dr Marten Verity sandals and they looked great but wrong on me, the straps taking up so much space they didn’t look enough like actual sandals. So I’ve bought my first pair of Birkenstock Arizonas in washed metallic sea copper and I live them. So comfortable and the colour is really pretty.

I would love a pair of Doc Martens but not sure I want to pay the price and risk them not fitting, are they any alternatives without the price tag?

MintyT · 29/04/2019 22:07

@Lovemusic33 I got mine from Amazon very cheap, they are fab and won't wear out for years well worth the spend, I had a pair years ago in blue, I got comments on them all the time. I gave them to a friend after she broke her ankle as they were the only thing she could walk in

animaginativeusername · 30/04/2019 07:32

Debenhams have half price sake on sandals, so had to have a look.

so just ordered these https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod107011100010670104072700-1
