On every thread where someone posts a picture of sandals to ask for advice, theres always a chorus of 'hideous', 'granny', 'fugly' etc. So please share some photos of sandals that you think are nice, stylish, chic, non-stomach-churning, whatever. Bear in mind that many of us need sandals to be comfortable and suitable for lots of walking. I promise no snarky comments!

@bebeboeuf I had a pair last summer. I really like them but didn't get in with the flatness of them - good for my wide feet though. Also found that there was a lot of excess sole at the end of my toes which made me trip up, but that might just be because I have quite short stubby toes!

S021 · 23/04/2019 17:52

Thanks EllaP you have confirmed my fears about the flatness of the saltwaters so I will steer clear

EnidButton · 23/04/2019 18:08

A lot of the ones I like have that post but that sits between the big toe and the toe next to it. My feet are blistering just at the thought. Maybe I should lay off the footner but do other people have tougher skin there or just better at grinning and bearing it?

Romax · 23/04/2019 18:15

@AnotherEmma

I love them! And prepared to spend

What’s their sizing like? How come they didn’t work for you?

Romax · 23/04/2019 18:17

@animaginativeusername

Please please don’t

AnotherEmma · 23/04/2019 18:33

@Romax
This is the style I ordered (S946). Too late for me to take a photo of my feet in them, sadly. The style just looked a bit wrong on my feet. I am very fussy though! And they were gorgeous.
They were pretty true to size, possibly a tiny bit on the snug side but a good fit for me, my feet are size 8 and standard width.

AnotherEmma · 23/04/2019 18:36

I think these might suit me better (S948) but they're more expensive at £130 and I'm not sure I can bring myself to spend that much on a pair of sandals!

Jelly Brook has a nice pair of sandals.

The news article she was pictures in had details of her skirt which was from New Look but no mention of her sandals.

The tan helps doesn't it?!
I'm so pasty!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 23/04/2019 18:47

tesla1970 mine arrived today too! They are definitely more shimmering than I would usually buy, but for the price they'll do nicely for the summer Smile

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 23/04/2019 18:50

@Kittywampus, thanks for finding them for me Flowers

evilharpy · 23/04/2019 18:51

Whoever posted the link to Sezane - I’m obsessed with their clothes. I want to replace my whole wardrobe with things from there. I will as soon as I win the lottery.

bebeboeuf · 23/04/2019 19:57

Had anyone found anything as comfortable as the italian Bionatura sandals?
I bought a pair in Italy a few years ago and loved them. Most comfiest sandals I’ve ever had and they had a heel, but I haven’t been able to find them in UK and to ship over from Italy is costing a fortune

Chartreuser · 23/04/2019 20:04

bebeboeuf

They seem to have lots on Amazon, are these the same?

Glad I could help @MotherForkinShirtBalls

animaginativeusername · 24/04/2019 00:10

@Romax couldn't wear for long and realised why they in the back of cupboard, feet got easily sweaty. And as sole wasn't leather, feet very itchy. Anyway, have wiped them down properly and are finally in charity bag.

Ellapaella · 24/04/2019 13:21

Birkenstock Bali's arrived. I like 'em

I have ordered far too many sandals on the back of this thread! Grin
My best find for wider feet are Gabor 'Purpose' sandals. 8 cm wedge heel, cushioned, and have a hidden elastic strap which is good for swollen feet days!. I have them in the peanut colour. Mine are 2 years old but still look as good as new.

@evilharpy
That was me re:Sezane 🙋🏼‍♀️😍
Bloody hell, tell me about it! I’ve literally just discovered them (after seeing one of my favourite beauty instagrammers wearing a blouse from there) and almost wish I hadn’t. So pricey especially converting the AU$ to the €. It will be my first port of call if I win the lottery too Grin

ThePerturbedPenguin · 24/04/2019 14:29

Great thread! Have done twelve pages but will have to come back for the rest...

I am about to buy some Birkenstock Arizonas after much deliberation! But would also like some 'prettier' ones that are still relatively comfortable.

Lovemusic33 · 24/04/2019 15:50

My sandals arrived today (blowfish) but it’s raining so I can’t try them out.

FiremanKing · 24/04/2019 16:32

I have had success with two pairs!

Steve Madden sandals in black and in red from TK Maxx. I ordered online in different sizes and different styles and out of the right I bought, two fit so I’ve got a refund for the others.

Very comfortable due to the elastic! Grin

Alsohuman · 24/04/2019 16:36

They’re lovely, so sorry to rain on your parade but that elastic will be hell if your feet swell.

FiremanKing · 24/04/2019 17:11

My feet haven’t swollen yet but they are wide. The elastic is very soft and gives quite a bit but is supportive is that makes sense!

They were only cheap so if they don’t last I won’t be too disappointed.
