On every thread where someone posts a picture of sandals to ask for advice, theres always a chorus of 'hideous', 'granny', 'fugly' etc. So please share some photos of sandals that you think are nice, stylish, chic, non-stomach-churning, whatever. Bear in mind that many of us need sandals to be comfortable and suitable for lots of walking. I promise no snarky comments!

I have bought Tevas thanks to this thread. As someone who lives in DMs all winter, I need a clompy sandal or I feel really weird. Plus I have long legs and small feet, so delicate shoes just make my proportions unbalanced.

Lovemusic33 · 21/04/2019 20:12

I’m spending the evening looking through the thread, I still have my moshulu sandals from 2 years ago which I love but would love something similar to dr martins but without the price tag.

JaceLancs · 21/04/2019 20:23

Just bought the black ones from tkmaxx
The brown ones I had last year but only wore a few times

I really like those brown ones Jace, raffia soles scare me though so would be too worried to buy the black ones!

Ellapaella · 22/04/2019 08:35

I really like those @Lovemusic33

S021 · 22/04/2019 10:01

I have these from Wolky.

I like them

Not my feet

AnyFucker · 22/04/2019 10:12

Always good ole fashioned Brown Birkies. I buy a new pair every few years. I think I might retire these in October.

Oops, my feet twice. Sorry.

S021 · 22/04/2019 10:32

I love birkies but they kill my feet and seem to suck all the moisture from my feet.

Debating Saltwaters but hoping they lose the ‘flippers’ look when they’re worn in

FiremanKing · 22/04/2019 10:40

I can’t wear Birkenstock’s either. It’s like walking on two bricks.

Tunnockswafer · 22/04/2019 10:56

Birkenstock’s are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I need the ones with ankle straps for longer distances though. I guess are feet are all unique! I hear people saying that their high heels are comfortable too which seems insane to me.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 22/04/2019 11:15

I have bought the burnt orange Birkenstocks from Toast. Whilst the soles are very comfortable the straps at the very top of the Arizona’s need breaking in for me in these.Feet currently covered in plasters. However I know they will be heaven and last for yonks once the buggers are broken in. I really like this colour.

Will enclose a photo but excuse feet as they are a bit puffy/battered after walking over 30 miles in 3 days.

Update on the White Stuff mustard clogs. Bit of rubbing on the toes but otherwise comfortable for hours. Will also be very comfortable once broken in properly. Lots of compliments on these.

Those look lovely @PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair - love the colour

AnyFucker · 22/04/2019 11:49

I like that orange colour too

ElspethFlashman · 22/04/2019 12:48

Very tempted by the clogs but just bought the Office espadrille wedges of Internet Legend, so can't afford them.

I must attach a pic, they haven't arrived yet but are meant to be the most comfortable wedges in the history of Western civilisation.

They better be! I got the lower heel but there's a higher heel AND a flat version too. The flat version might be of interest to some here.

ElspethFlashman · 22/04/2019 12:54

This is the flat version, the Hallie.

ElspethFlashman · 22/04/2019 12:56

And this is the high version (the Holiday) and the mid height one I ordered (the Maiden)

Come in loads of colours. Meant to be able to walk for miles even in the high ones.

If you like the White Stuff yellow flexi clogs, they are made by a Swedish brand, Moheda. Here is their site, they do the WS ones in a wine shade and they’re a few £ cheaper too.

TwinsTrollsAndHunz · 22/04/2019 13:02

They have some nice non-flex clog sandals in their outlet/sale section, if you find them comfy.

ElspethFlashman · 22/04/2019 13:16

BTW my actual sandal of the day is Birkenstock Mayari in Shiny Snake. Obsessed with the petrol colour. Hard to capture how bright the purply greeney sheen is!

I just took them off for a sec cos look how pretty the colours are!

I have a pair of the Office Hallies. I like them because the suede straps are really soft.
