On every thread where someone posts a picture of sandals to ask for advice, theres always a chorus of 'hideous', 'granny', 'fugly' etc. So please share some photos of sandals that you think are nice, stylish, chic, non-stomach-churning, whatever. Bear in mind that many of us need sandals to be comfortable and suitable for lots of walking. I promise no snarky comments!

Ooh doodle they're gorgeous

Finally actually I do find stylish shoes attractive in a man, and fugly ones unatttactive

Ellapaella · 20/04/2019 08:51

I feel the same about men's shoes.** I also think it's fine to want to wear clothes and shoes that we feel look stylish. Lots of men do too.
Ultimately it doesn't really matter to me what anyone else puts on their feet but I do like to wear shoes that I perceive to look nice that are also comfortable. I simply wouldn't wear a pair of shoes if they weren't comfortable so I don't choose between style and comfort.
The whole point of this thread is that it is possible to find a pair of sandals that are comfortable and stylish - it's just that we differ in what we perceive to be a stylish shoe.

Ellapaella · 20/04/2019 08:51

No idea why that all came out in bold Blush

Heratnumber7 · 20/04/2019 09:04

Can I interject and ask how you stop your sandals smelling to high heaven after a few months wear? Lots of you have said you've had sandals for several years.

I don't have smelly feet. My socks and shoes don't smell. But sandals start to pong after a while and i need new ones every year, more frequently if I wear them every day in a long hot summer.

spreadingchestnuttree · 20/04/2019 09:09

It's true though, men don't have to wear uncomfortable shoes in order to be considered stylish. Even the most stylish or smart or high fashion men's shoes can be comfortable too.

TitchyP · 20/04/2019 09:11

Palmairas all the way! I have a few pairs and they are so comfortable and not granny style at all ( I don't think)

FinallyHere

I don’t want to wear ugly shoes and I want to be comfortable.

Sadly, in the world of footwear for wide of feet people like me it’s difficult to find sandals that look nice and don’t run or are too right etc.

As for fancying a man with ugly footwear, well it may be shallow but I would be put off in general if their sense of style was unappealing to me.

No idea about why your sandals smell, perhaps you could wipe them down after use with a diluted disinfectant or anti bacterial liquid soap?

FiremanKing · 20/04/2019 09:17

TitchyP

Are they suitable for wide feet?

TitchyP · 20/04/2019 09:22

Yes, definitely, they can feel a bit snug at first but the leather ones have a bit of give and mould to your feet.

Heratnumber7 · 20/04/2019 09:34

That's a good idea Fireman

FiremanKing · 20/04/2019 10:06

Cheaper than the Palmairas website but a review says they are the same quality????

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 20/04/2019 14:53

Gap sandals have a padded sole and are v comfortable.

FiremanKing · 20/04/2019 14:57

MintyT I like them. Have you got wide feet?

Tk maxx have new arrivals online every day and I keep an eye out on there especially for half sizes.

BunnyBob · 20/04/2019 15:15

I'm lusting after these because for me they look stylish and comfy (waiting for the sale)

They're from Jigsaw BTW

Alsohuman · 20/04/2019 15:21

These have just gone back. I love them and they’re incredibly comfortable but the ankle strap is too high and I look as if I haven’t got any legs at all. I’m sad.
