On every thread where someone posts a picture of sandals to ask for advice, theres always a chorus of 'hideous', 'granny', 'fugly' etc. So please share some photos of sandals that you think are nice, stylish, chic, non-stomach-churning, whatever. Bear in mind that many of us need sandals to be comfortable and suitable for lots of walking. I promise no snarky comments!

FiremanKing they’re rainbow, strappy crocs a few pages back. Maybe not to everyone’s taste (I don’t like most of the sandals on this thread tbh, although the last few pages are better) but I love them and have spent like an hour today trying to track down a pair with no luck unfortunately Sad

Thanks for the heads up about eBay tethersend unfortunately I’m not a size 11 Angry

AhoyDelBoy · 19/04/2019 12:31

These are the sandals of my dreams!

Whisky, you need real Birkenstocks, not copies. I wore mine on a holiday in India where I was walking a lot, climbing steps at temples etc, and was completely comfortable (and I have a dodgy knee and general forty-something niggles).

FiremanKing · 19/04/2019 12:45

I’ve found the rainbow crocs and in a brown bronze combo and in my size!

I like them but they look narrow.

I only know crocs as the clog types, are the sandals ok for wide feet?

AhoyDelBoy · 19/04/2019 12:50

I’m jealous FiremanKing can’t comment on how narrow they are as hadn’t ever considered crocs before now. I only really knew about the original style as well.

FiremanKing · 19/04/2019 13:00

I’ve tried looking up reviews for them but whilst the reviews say they are comfortable no one is saying if they have wide feet.

NakedAvenger · 19/04/2019 13:43

Oh @Cheesymonster I know. They're pricy because they are all leather but they're an investment. Those buggers are coming out for the next four years. As I said. 6 months of everyday wear and 3k walked on them a day and you wouldn't know from looking at them and they get softer and comfier everyday.

@AhoyDelBoy here

I am in love with these handmade Bali sandals! Super comfy and I always get asked where I bought them. Love them!

I really liked sandals I bought from seasalt Cornwall a couple of years ago. Just been on their website & they’re 2 pairs for £50. Nothing ugly about them and I could walk for hours in them.

But I bought myself silver Birkenstocks last autumn and I patiently waited all winter for it get warm for me to wear them. I love them

ComeOnGordon · 19/04/2019 14:59

For walking sandals I tried on a pair of teva sandals in TK Maxx the other week - they were so comfortable but they were sadly too big & there were none in my size 😢 online they were double the price

These are exceptionally comfy- I can walk miles in them. I have just ordered the tan version (only on John Lewis for some reason) but have the rose gold from last year. I’ve almost worn them to death though.

FiremanKing · 19/04/2019 15:15

Ooh comeongordon the sea salt ones are very nice indeed!

Bargain at 2 for £50

I’m just going to check out their other styles.

ComeOnGordon · 19/04/2019 16:08

Glad you liked them FiremanKing - I’m a bit cash poor just now otherwise I’d be ordering some more

FiremanKing · 19/04/2019 16:37

ComeOnGordon

Did you buy the regular or wider fit?

Binkybix · 19/04/2019 17:34

Oh dear. Are those Ancient Greek wing sandals comfy?! My whole adult life I’ve wanted wing sandals, but they are expensive!!

FiremanKing · 19/04/2019 18:39

Lots of nice ones here.

The seller is using the description of Ancient Greek but I don’t think it’s the actual brand aforementioned on this thread.

They are made in Greece though! And considerably cheaper.

EnidButton · 19/04/2019 19:07

I love the rainbow croc ones too.

ComeOnGordon · 19/04/2019 19:12

@FiremanKing I think I bought the regular fit

FiremanKing · 19/04/2019 19:16

Thank you, ComeonGordon.
Decisions decisions.

tethersend · 19/04/2019 21:09

@FiremanKing I have wide feet and the crocs are good- heat the straps with a hairdryer for a minute or so, then put them on and wear them until they cool down. The rubber straps mould to your feet.
