I've always loved history so am happy to natter away about it when we've got no clothes to discuss! The intermarrying among the European monarchies is fascinating, especially when you consider that many of the current monarchs are German by blood!

The photographs of the Queen are just beautiful. She really does have the most warm and genuine smile. If you look at the one with Margaret Thatcher (I presume it is MT) her smile is so welcoming.

Hairydilemma I had no idea that that was how you could get to see the Queen. I am off to investigate!!

I went down a bit of a Sophie rabbit hole today. I think she's been somewhat overshadowed in recent years but I have found some I think lovely outfits of hers over the years these are her jumpsuits the white one is I think stunning!

She also has a leather jacket that I would love to own

H&M are at the Endeavour awards tonight. I think maybe that's the awards night to which she wore the black tux last year? One of her beat ever looks, I thought. Tonight I'm guessing black again and most likely a new dress if it's black tie as she won't be able to fit into her old gowns. And I'm not sure the sparkly Mouret would be quite suitable for the occasion.

In other Meghan news, Charlotte has the scoop on an article in People magazine where friends of hers have spoken out in defence of her. It certainly puts a new spin on the rubbish her father has been spouting. I find it hard to believe Kensington Palace didn't know about this article beforehand but perhaps they decided enough was enough and "never complain, never explain" didn't cut it anymore.

Tbh I suspect KP did not approve it. I doubt it's necessarily required and the whole story is a very American type of thing. It's blatantly a Megan plant, she basically wrote it. It makes Charles and Diana's shenanigans look subtle by comparison.

I absolutely hate people using the press in this way, I find it such a sledgehammer approach. Plant a sob story in People magazine. Make sure to say how Megan (gasp!) wipes down her own wet dogs. It's all such PR bollocks and it has the opposite effect on me.

That's not to say M shouldn't be planting defensive stories, but I thought it would be a "sprinkling seeds" approach, not this absolutely blatant thing.

It's also telling that it was planted in People magazine rather than in the Daily Mail. She is still regarding US opinion as more important.

Given how the Mail have treated her I can't blame her for going to People.

The article a bit OTT, I agree. I think they could've just stopped after the bit about her dad and left out the dogs and cooking etc.

Really like the camel coat and snakeskin clutch ( on trend, but I’m a bit eek about snakes).
Not sure about the books; maybe they are a proper country boot; they look well worn.
