Christmas and the sales are sadly over but winter is still here for a few months yet.

Come and show us your cosy knits and woolly hats whilst we dream of summer - everyone welcome, the more the merrier.

Awful news - thinking of you Lib and all Kiwis, devastating.

Sorry to hear how tough things are with DF Shop. Very nearly bought the SE boots you linked before I realised they are almost identical to a Boden pair I bought last winter!

Heel broke on my black ankle boots so am desperate for a new pair as they're my go-to work shoes. But builders have just started - losing kitchen on Monday - & I have no time to shop!

Have good weekends all.

Longislandicetee · 16/03/2019 09:26

What happened in Christchurch is just so sad. Looking at the BBC news website this morning i was glad to see that the perpetrators face has been blanked out. No one should be giving that monster any recognition for his actions.Angry

I have had such a busy week pretty much run off my feet and been working late (at least to 11pm/near midnight) every night. Utterly exhausted and i am feeling the stress in my back. Unfortunately no respite this weekend as I have to work - probably most of the weekend.Sad In S&B news, I realised that my Alaia bag hadn't arrived because there was a problem when i pressed buy. Anyway have done that now, so it should be here on Monday. I got these Lucie Campbell earrings this week. It's a bit odd as they don't look very nice in the picture, nor did they in the display, however, they look fantastic on - very pretty and delicate.

Wishing you all a good Saturday.

maradesbois · 16/03/2019 12:45

So sad indeed, it also chilled me to see from a tech side how he used social media to his advantage to get maximum coverage - good to see as Blingy said that most journalists are reporting responsibly and refusing him the notoriety he obviously craves. Your PM is fab lib, she spoke so well.

Having a lovely chilled weekend with my siblings and dc, really need a relaxing one. Weather is grim though.

justa for skincare am considering one of these led blue/red light devices, as a guru do you have any thoughts?

Shop so sorry to hear things still so bad, sending you love and support my friend. Xx

fedup will look at your links in a bit, don’t want to lose this post! All sounds good though apart from lost order. Have just had the same with sunnies ordered from le specs in Aus, ordered a month ago and clearly lost but still not refunded, grr.

Have spent so much this month but on boring stuff like dentist and optician. Really want the trainers but can’t justify it!!

QueenCerise · 16/03/2019 15:19

The mile high jeans are indeed fab but they’re a lot lot paler than I usually wear so I need to do a proper try on with different tops to make a decision.

Love to all

Longislandicetee · 16/03/2019 15:48

Would be great for summer though QueenC? if we get one

We are away again next half term, somewhere hot again and I want to do a holiday wardrobe refresh. Not as organised as Dry though!

VivaVegas · 16/03/2019 17:58

AWOL for a while due to the usual cr**!
Did a huge Stories sale order but other than a blazer I think it's all going back! Have done another one with a couple of bags and a pair of sandals in it today, will see if they fair any better.
The Whistles zebra dress also went back, lovely dress but the length just looked frumpy on me.
The only thing I did order and keep were some Sweaty Betty running leggings and sweatshirt! At least I know I'll get plenty of wear out of them.
The weather is grim here today, have put off this weeks long training run until tomorrow, hopefully it will be better!
Enjoy the rest of your weekends.

QueenCerise · 16/03/2019 21:52

FAntasy shop time...
for blingy

QueenCerise · 16/03/2019 21:55

oh my eyes

Longislandicetee · 16/03/2019 22:16

Oh QueenC that dress is sooooo nice!

That jacket is ShockShockShock!

QueenCerise · 17/03/2019 16:45

A you can see I didn’t get very far with fantasy shopping as there’s wasnt much inspiring me.
I have however, managed to do some real online shopping. Will link when things arrive. Most of it will probably go back. I’m just in one of those moods where I feel rubbish about myself and am ordering nice things to make myself feel better.

VivaVegas · 17/03/2019 18:42

I'm with you Queen everything I order other than sportswear seems to go back.
I do it when I'm bored, need to find something else to do!

DryWhiteagainW · 17/03/2019 20:19

Spent half n hour cutting the bottom off an old pair of straight cut jeans (still fit after 7yrs...hey!) and fraying them.....look good I think. A free pair of raw edged straight cut cropped thanks.

Sending a big hug and Flowers and Flowers to you Shop. I think you’re amazing. Your parents are lucky to have you.x

Blingy I’m having to control my holiday wardrobe shopping......not doing well. Bought DH a pair of swimming trunks the other day. Got home and found he has 5 pairs already Grin

Love to you Lib but you know I’m thinking of you xx

shopafrolic · 18/03/2019 08:21

Sending big love to you and all Kiwis Lib - the posts from my friends are just heartbreaking but also filled with great inclusive ideas and positivity. Feels as though change is coming perhaps.
I'm still really struggling. Very teary all the time and it is affecting DS and DH now which is no good. DF has fallen again a few times this weekend, DM is at breaking point with him but seems to be refusing alternative options. I have managed to get them to agree to look at a care home this morning but DF says he wants to stay at home and DM is fairly negative about it all. I have no idea where to go from here.
Viva strength to you.
No style news although the new Dior foundation and concealer (did I mention those?) are excellent.

libertyonhertravels · 18/03/2019 09:50

Thanks everyone. It's hard to explain the atmosphere here. People still very, very shocked. Sense that something has changed profoundly and no one sure what the new 'normal' will be. I'm feeling really angry, having spent my whole life with terrorism in the background between growing up on the border with NI and the last 15 years in London I had thought my daughter could have a different experience here Sad.

Shop sending you love and strength. So hard that all the 'adulting' in this situation is falling to you.

I have zero fashion news. Our renovation is well underway - laundry done, kitchen going in next week, master bedroom remodelled, ensuite being tiled. There is dust everywhere and we're living on cereal and takeaways.

Only recent purchase is a green cotton sweater for yoga / lounge wear and new underwear - Freya balcony bras and Jockey pants - best knickers ever imo Smile.

libertyonhertravels · 18/03/2019 10:05

Justa the Muslim community here is very small and tight knit. People I know through work are devastated and all seem to know or be related to someone directly affected. People are struggling with deep grief, fear and anger. I was at a meeting today about various health and social care responses with Muslim community leaders and it was a very emotional.

Everyonelovessparkles · 18/03/2019 10:48

Thinking of you lib. It was such a shocking incident and as you say, the close community makes it much more personal.

Sorry to hear you are also having a hard time shop. Would your DF be able to go into a hospice for a couple of days to give your DM some respite? Maybe if she has a break it will make her realise that things can’t continue as they are? It must be difficult for her though, if they’ve been married for a long time she’s losing her partner as well as dealing with the health issues. Do you have a sibling to share your thoughts/ concerns for the future with? Flowers

Can so imagine you as a Sloane dry. I think I must have been a mini Sloane with my padded tartan headband and double breasted gold buttoned cardigan age about 11 Grin. I think fedup also customised an old pair of jeans last year by cutting the hems off.

Nice buys from hush and jigsaw fedup. Shame about the reduction after you’d paid full price. I always get so annoyed with that. Sometimes I return and buy again on principle!

Hope you manage to spend your lkbennet voucher justa!

I wouldn’t be surprised if monsoon was the next High st store to go into administration. Their recent collections have been pretty poor. I know monsoon isn’t for everyone, but in the past I have always been able to find a couple of nice dresses, tops or jumpers (I always think their knitwear is really good quality) but for the last 18months it’s just been absolute dross.

As with many of you, I’ve not had much success lately with recent buys. I did get this leopard star tshirt and this white broderie tshirt which will be useful for spring / summer but other than that I’m not getting a lot of inspiration. I’m also so sick of winter and the cold weather now. It feels like winter has gone on forever. These rainbow shoes did make me smile just not sure I could manage that heel! Annoyingly, it looks like Boden might have stopped doing their Amalfi bikini top. This was my go to style but first look at the new season shows they have a new style which I’m not as keen on. Hopefully amalfi will make an appearance later in the season.

Love the Alaia dress queenc. I need a jacket like that for my Ds when he’s in the park Grin.

shopafrolic · 18/03/2019 14:18

Which one of you lovelies has sent me Flowers?? It must be a Voguette because the message refers to me as Shop but I have no idea who they are from. Whoever it was thank you so so much. They are absolutely beautiful and have put a smile on my face after a shit morning. :)

Took DF around the care home, all very positive, he told me he could imagine staying there etc. But when it came to booking him in he said he "sees no need for it at the moment". I pointed out that Mum and I are at breaking point and that the room will only be held briefly or we'll lose it. The home have suggested we call them within 24 hours. I have had enough. I am at the point where if he refuses to go I think I will have to refuse to help anymore which I really don't want to do.
I do have a brother Everyone but he lives in the Netherlands so it's tricky.
John Lewis delivered the replacement boots today after all the sizing issues. They came as a US9 and 10 in the end when I had wanted a US9.5 but it turns out the US9 are still ok so I will keep.
Love to you all and thanks again to my secret Voguette admirer

Booskina · 18/03/2019 18:33

Hi everyone! Longtime lurker on this thread, thought I’d say hi and thanks as have spent the weekend packing for a weekend in bath and very excited and inspired by all of your posts. I ordered gorgeous navy bikini set for the thermae spa and this bralet/bandeau style bra set in the sale. Can you see a (much-needed) high waist theme).
Hope it’s okay to crash this thread, enjoying your buys. It’s my first time in Bath so any recommendations are most welcome!

justasecond · 18/03/2019 22:45

welcome Booskina Hope you stick around! Navy bikini looks very stylish.

shop that's so tough, poor you and your dm, You could really do with your db being around for a bit to ease the pressure on you. When my df has been ill there are 4 of us to share the caring but it's still incredibly stressful. Flowers wasn't me btw although you so deserve them. xx

Lib Flowers its just so awful, sadly this is the world we live in now. Ugly ideologies reach every corner of the world with such ease now that nowhere can be safe anymore Sad. I have been heartened by how NZers are showing support and your pm is coming across very well.

Every l love those rainbow shoes, they remind me of the Warehouse dress you have and I have the jumper version. Maybe not wear them together though!

Dry I bet you looked ace as a sloane!

mara I hadn't heard of light therapy devices until I googled, looks interesting. I have been using nu face for a while now. I would recommend it as I think it has worked for me. It has improved the definition in my jawline and lifted my sagging hamster cheeks a bit Smile I have this one nu face mini

blingy very pretty earings, hope this week is a bit easier for you.

fed up lovely Hush outfit

DryWhiteagainW · 19/03/2019 07:43

Booskina welcome ! This is just what we need , love it when we get a new joiner. I love Bath! Go on tell us all about your style etc.....and stay, it’s fun here Smile

Booskina · 19/03/2019 21:37

just & dry thank you for the warm welcome Smile
Can I call my style; chameleon Grin? It seems I’m obsessed with things I wouldn’t have considered he month before. I am also a Breton stripe addict like some of you. I’m mostly excited to go away for the weekend to wear things I don’t have the time or energy to style. I have these couple of things on my radar and shopping basket
trench coat with a twist
Also recently discovered [[https://galleria-armadoro.com this jewellery website]] from Greece but it’s stocked on ASOS too. I love everything so too much to link.
Also have been considering these Chloe boots for a few months, I have a decent bonus this month so 95% ready to take the plunge but feel sick at the thought of spending £1000 on shoes. Handbags are more justified but I really can’t stop thinking about them welp

Booskina · 19/03/2019 21:43

viva I also looked the & other stories online sale and didn’t find anything I just had to had which is rare. The fabric quality are so lovely and a big factor for why I buy something nearly every time I can pop in. I did spot a long belted coat which I have seen in the black in store and love, not on sale sadly and not sure I can pull off or get enough wear from the red.

QueenCerise · 19/03/2019 22:17

Welcome booskina. Despite living near Bath I have absolutely no recommendations. Wear comfy shoes though. In terms of the boots I would only buy them if you’re certain you’d wear them. I know I’d probably be too scared for fear of ruining them!
everyone I’d kind of assumed that monsoon had disappeared as they’ve started selling some bits in John Lewis. My local one shut down a couple of years ago so it’s not really on my radar anymore. John Lewis also do coast which I think went into administration didn’t it? I think it’s hard for the middle high street to survive. People seem to want dirt cheap primark prices or ‘investment’ pieces.

The clothes o ordered have been dispatched but not delivered yet. The Levi jeans are going back as I decided they are just too pale and don’t look right with my darker (ie navy) tops.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/03/2019 23:00

hello all. sorry i'm lurking a lot atm, just don't seem to have the energy to be posting much of anything.

Only fashion news to report is that i bought a pair of grey and white striped linen mid length shorts with a paperbag waist last week. planning ahead for the holiday this year. Ive tried them on and i think they might be a touch too big so i might pick up the size down and see how they feel on. Oh, and i bought a neon pink denim pinafore dress. NO REGRETS!

shopafrolic · 20/03/2019 09:07

Hi guys. Thanks for all the love.
Welcome booskina
DF is back in hospital after another fall. So yet again I'll be back when I can. Big love Voguettes.
