Sophie's engagement ring was not unlike Meghan's, but with triangular diamonds on the side so a little more interesting for me.

Cornwall I also absolutely loved Kate's bafta dress although so many threads on MN about how disappointed people were that she hadn't worn black for #MeToo. She was in a difficult position really, the whole ethos of the monarchy is to not be involved in political stuff, and if people had read more about it, she was actuallypretty symbolically vocal in other ways - emeralds representing female empowerment and green associated with the suffragette movement. I thought she was clever in the way she did it. Shame it went unnoticed

Yes IdaBWells, it is the Queen Mum's according to that link. I've just noticed her chunky Elizabeth Duke-esque bracelets on that picture, an acquired taste.

The Stuart tiara belonged to Queen Mary wife of Wiilliam of Orange.
The Troubles in the North of Ireland owe a lot to the defeat of James 11 by William of Orange at the Battle of the Boyne and the subsequent Plantation of Ulster by Scottish and English Protestants, displacing the Catholic Irish off their lands.
The Orange Order in the North owes its name to William of Orange and celebrates the victory in battle every 12th July, leading to sectarian tension in Northern Ireland.
Queen Mary and Queen Anne would be spinning in their graves if they thought the Stewart tiara was now being worn by a Catholic Dutch queen.

It would depend on how much she spent and what kind of return on investment she has achieved but supposedly her income was about $450,000 a year. She could have accumulated a principal in excess of a million dollars or even a million pounds with the right savings plan and investment plan. She had other income as well from occasional movie roles.

No way MM made that much on suits , she had a minor role for the first season and probably didn't earn that much the first two seasons and what about tax and personal expenditure ?
She is a smart woman . whatever saving she has , she will save it not spend it on clothes and jewels plus the Duchy pays for all thier expenses .

Kate’s wedding dress was about £250k; paid for by her parents.
