Previous thread.

And let's stick to critiquing the outfits rather than the wearer!

If there was a thread on Mumsnet about a sister in law dictating the colour of your outfit to your nephew's christening (I note there is never a suggestion that the brother in law would make such demands), you'd be told your sister in law is batshit.

Touché @AFifthOfKoolAid!

I think the RF are generally batshit really.

Anyhow. Onto fluffier things. The Royal Order have a vote on atm for evening wear and daywear/cocktail wear. Some absolute belters on there.

Forgive the slightly tenuous royal link here but is the pink coloured bag Natasha Archer is carrying under her arm a Mulberry medium Lilly? It could be a Chanel 2.55 but I really can't tell.

I'm really happy for her that she has been honoured. She really deserves recognition.

I don’t see why everyone should coordinate at Christenings, is it a thing? I think everyone else was in pastel colours and they are not really Meghan’s preferred colours.

katekat383 · 30/12/2018 11:12

Olive is too dank for a christening. She might as well have worn fatigues.

Pupsiecola · 30/12/2018 11:19

Thing is, if the chaps didn't wear blue at the christening what colour would they wear? Obviously not black. Grey perhaps? There isn't exactly a bit choice is there. They could have worn different coloured/patterned ties but there would have been a real risk of a clash. I do notice though that even Charlotte is accessorised in blue.

Also, someone said Meghan's dress was photoshopped in the pictures. Is this a fact? It does look more taupe in the photo above and it does blend well as a (dark) neutral with the other dresses.

Tbh I don't think Natasha Archer or other Royal assistants (or indeed many others) should get a gong. She's doing her job and it's not brain surgery or finding a cure for cancer.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/12/2018 11:25

George and Charlotte's christening photos. I don't notice any colour coordination. Carole even seems to be wearing black, although I guess it was navy.

I only noticed now that the Queen wore blue to George's christening and pink to Carlotte's.
And I thought I was an observant person. Hmm

UrsulaPandress · 30/12/2018 11:40

I don’t think anyone should get recognition for doing a job for which they are paid.

N0tfinished · 30/12/2018 12:30

Not sure if has been posted before - YouTube short documentary about some tiaras

TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2018 12:53

Blue suits are coincidental I reckon. If DH (man of many suits in many colours) was attending a daytime christening type event, he’d chose either blue or possibly grey.

I like it when the RF men attend weddings and you see a complete variety of waistcoats, buttonholes etc

AFifthOfKoolAid · 30/12/2018 13:01

I did like Charles' natty grey morning suit at Harry and Meghan's wedding, looked great with the flash of pink.

When the royals get the giggles.. From Hello magazine.

HMQ at Church but no Philip, Catherine and Meghan. DM link.

Parker231 · 30/12/2018 13:36

Beverley - I don’t think Natasha Archer should have been given any honor - she’s done nothing of value or benefit. She has a made up job that the RF should be doing for themselves. One newspaper article commented as follows “Ms Archer has the important role of helping with Kate’s style and has travelled around the world with the Cambridges on official tours to help co-ordinate her wardrobe.

She was spotted arriving at St Mary’s Hospital’s private maternity unit where Prince Louis was born to help the duchess get ready for her public appearance that day.”

beanaseireann · 30/12/2018 14:27

I absolutely agree Parker231
I'm not British but I'd be so cross that some people get gongs from the Queen that are just doing the ( not so difficult) job they are paid to do and yet there are so many wonderful people volunteering, saving lives and going well beyond the call of duty.
They wanted to bring in an honours system in Ireland, but so far so good, the attempt has failed.
It would have been given to some very worthy people but also to those with political clout and there would be so much cronyism.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/12/2018 14:41

OMG, that dress Max is wearing in Paradyning's link ... I don't know when I last saw anything quite so stunning

Hate to mention it though, but her hubby does look awfully like Trump in that shot!! Grin

BeverlyGoldberg · 30/12/2018 15:13

Luckily for Natasha the Palace appear not to agree with you Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/12/2018 15:13

Poor Wax! I think it's just a bad photo of him. I'd have loved to see Max's dress without the sheer black cape.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 30/12/2018 15:20

Some of a very young Wax from the Pathé archives.

CrookedMe · 30/12/2018 15:29

DD had an Elsa doll that wore a dress exactly like the one Max is wearing Grin

beanaseireann · 30/12/2018 15:31

Wax was such a little cutie.

user1457017537 · 30/12/2018 16:40

Beanaseireanne actually why don’t brain surgeons and oncologists get honor awards. I’m sick of celebs and show business types getting them every New Year!

beanaseireann · 30/12/2018 16:55

I agree user1457017537
