Day 21- illuminating moisturiser , promising to blur out any fine lines and wrinkles !

I am definitely going to try out the eye roller today, feeling the strain of 2 young children and work

How annoying for those of you with dodgy roller balls - obviously not a great design. I did manage to get the lid off my tiny sample so might be worth doing that and just getting the juice out that way?

Haven’t tried today’s moisturiser yet, am sticking with the votary one for winter - love it so much and really thought a such rich one would break me out, but so far, so good. Glad to read that the new one is good too, looking forward to trying it in the spring!

Luvacuppatea · 21/12/2018 10:39

I had problems with my roller ball yesterday, but bizarrely it seemed to work ok this morning! Product seems a little thick and sticky, though it did soak in to my poor parched eye area quite quickly. I will persevere with this and hopefully have younger looking eyes to look forward to in a few weeks 😀. Not tried today’s moisturiser yet - I’m getting a little frightened that I’m going to get hooked on another ‘high end’ product that’s going to cost £££ to replace 😂

CardiCorgi · 21/12/2018 11:23

Hungary today! Very international. Today's was quite nice but somehow I prefer the Votary one despite it being so thick. Dh made some suitable comment about me looking illuminated. I think he's wondering how expensive my tastes will get.

chloechloe · 21/12/2018 14:26

I like the look and sound of this! Don’t want to have too many moisturisers open at once though so I think I’ll try the Votary one first (haven’t tried it yet) seeing as most of you say it’s rich and good for winter.

I have to say I’m finding this year’s offering better than last year! I now have so many products to use though that I’m going to try a No Beauty Spend for 2019 to use everything up!

littlepooch · 21/12/2018 16:37

Oh I love the smell of today's! Thinking I will use this for the day and votary at night.

My rollerball didn't work this morning. Managed to get the lid off and tap some product into my hand. Will try again tomorrow but I will be disappointed if it doesnt work.

GinandGingerBeer · 21/12/2018 17:00

I've loved the stuff I've had previous years from omitzgavora (spelling of it is a wild guess, but refers to today's offering Grin) The facial exfoliator is amazing and i buy the 30ml tubes off eBay for £10.
Not tried the moisturiser yet as I'd already got my face on when I opened the advent calendar today.
I'm going to feel bereft after xmas daySad

Twotabbycats · 22/12/2018 00:02

I'm behind again! Today's moisturiser smells lovely, though I've only tried it on the back of my hand. That was before I read on here that it's worth £85 and now I think it was wasted on my hand! I think this must be a daytime moisturiser if it's illuminating so will try tomorrow morning. Hopefully now I have two Very Expensive moisturisers I won't need to buy any for a while!

The Aurelia oil from last year was one of my favourites so I like the look of the eye stuff... though like you @RoxyL I'm scared to put anything near my eyes as they are very sensitive. Did you try it yet?

For the person who wasn't sure about the serum, I use it at night followed by a facial oil (sometimes the Aurelia one but I alternate as I am making it last!). It seems to prime my skin for the oil and it sucks it all up!

I finally tried the REN primer but was disappointed it made my skin feel a bit tight - maybe I need extra Votary cream underneath Grin I actually tried on one side of my face only and close examination at the end of the day revealed that my foundation stayed on better on that side!

My mis-numbered days seem to have come good and I now have the same as everyone else! Not keen on the hair perfume but I like the cream spray stuff, makes my hair very soft. Smell is a bit strong though.

I have loved this year's calendar and think it's really good value. There are only a few products I won't use. Very sad it's nearly finished. I think someone needs to bring out an advent calendar especially for January (with 31 days Grin).

Housewife2010 · 22/12/2018 05:45

The Omorovicza illuminating moisturizer is worth £51 not £85. The full 50 ml size is £85 but the one in the calendar is 30 ml.

chickydoo · 22/12/2018 05:57

Double ended lip colour today.
Will try later. Is available in space NK for £35.

The lipstick goes on nicer than I thought it would, but I’m not sure it’s for me. I don’t tend to wear a strong lip colour.

The moisturiser is lovely!

Housewife2010 · 22/12/2018 10:57

It works well blotted with lipbalm on top for a softer look.

MrsArcher23 · 22/12/2018 11:21

I’ve been lurking here for weeks. How do I use the double ended lipstick?

Sausagefingers9 · 22/12/2018 11:34

Draw on with the pencil and fill in with the crayon MrsArcher.

Housewife2010 · 22/12/2018 11:52

Outline and fill in with the pencil. For a matte effect add the powder end on top.

Stitchosaurus · 22/12/2018 12:01

I’m away for Christmas from early tomorrow so have opened all the remaining drawers in the Liberty and Jo Malone calendars - that was a very fun morning! Gutted it’s all over now.

Love today’s lip pencil and powder! Lovely plum colour which works for me. I used the pencil as a liner and blended it in and then the powder on top. They do eye shadow versions too, it was one of those last year.

MrsArcher23 · 22/12/2018 22:06

Thanks - I tried it out, it’s a lovely colour.

HundredMilesAnHour · 22/12/2018 22:09

I will admit that I've opened the rest of the drawers as I'm away from tomorrow morning. I didn't want to have to avoid this thread and have the surprise spoiled so I opened everything instead. Very happy with the 25th and that's all I'm saying. Smile

This is the first time I've got a beauty advent calendar and I've been pretty happy with the contents overall. Looking forward to next year's already!

chickydoo · 23/12/2018 07:43

I love today's Aromatherapy associates roller ball. Am hoping it lives up to the blurb. I might need a bucket of it though.

Stitchosaurus · 23/12/2018 09:16

I had a good roll all over my pulse points this morning! Dying smoke alarm woke me at 5am so I needed the promised ‘clear head’ - love the smell but who knows if it does much!

bengalcat · 23/12/2018 09:20

I’m away so will have all gifts from the 23rd to look forward to when I return and in the meantime any suspense can be cured by reading this thread

chloechloe · 23/12/2018 09:41

I love Aromatherapy Associates but have another rollerball somewhere which still needs finishing. With yesterday’s lip colour, I’m debating whether to try it out or save it untested for a swap. I don’t usually wear lip colour and then only a subtle shade. This looks a bit bold for me! Then again with the ongoing sleep deprivation I should probably start wearing a bold lip to detract from the dark circles under my eyes!

I think i know what the last two products are but will keep quiet!

PinkysEars · 23/12/2018 09:47

I like the sound of this one.

I'm not sure what to do with the lip colour either Chloe. I only wear makeup a few times a year, but actually maybe my 2019 resolution could be to wear it more. Pondering that at the moment.

santababyconvertible · 23/12/2018 10:34

Day 23- Aromatherapy Associates X Liberty rollerball for a clear mind

Love this ! Just my kind of thing - not so sure about yesterday's offering, I didn't open it as I just don't know how to use lip make up !
