Used this morning
No irritation, some mascaras make my eyes sore. Still on now, just going to remove.
Does the job, handy size for a holiday

littlepooch · 16/12/2018 23:11

I bought a new mascara yesterday haha. I forgot there was one in the calendar.
Looking forward to trying it though! I'm a fussy moo when it comes to mascara but I love the stuff and pile it on Grin

chickydoo · 17/12/2018 06:55

Underwhelmed by today's Eve Lom lip balm.
Don't think it will get much use
Might give this one away

santababyconvertible · 17/12/2018 07:27

Day 17- Eve Lom Kiss Mix , I think I'll keep this in my handbag. Makes a change to the chewed up Nivea stick I usually have thanks to DS 3.

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the number of things to put on my face! Really loving the serum and rich moisturiser but feel like I need some gruidance in when to use what and how often with regards to the primer, cleaners, glow tonic, eye things etc. I’m currently moisturising in a rush in the morning and cleansing, serum, moisturing at night. Not sure or when I should be using the other things? Really enjoying the calendar! I’d like more make up: a bronzer would be lovely. 😊. Bit disappointed with mini mascara - so small! I like today’s lip balm as really suffer with dry lips this time of year but won’t use the clear gloss - would have preferred a colour...

Stitchosaurus · 17/12/2018 09:22

Roxy At the moment I’m using the votary moisturiser at least once a day, sometimes twice depending on how dry my skin feels. I’m using the pixi glow tonic a few times a week in the evening (to build up in case my skin is sensitive to it, I know some people use it every night). I’m using that electric whatever cleanser at night after I’ve taken my make up off. And I use the primer every day before my make up. The other cleansers I’ll use once I’ve used up what I’m half way through already. The eye brightener I’m having a break from because it just made me more aware of my new lines!

There was a bronzer last year so I don’t think there’ll be one this year but don’t know for sure.

I like how tingly today’s lip balm is! I’m enjoying the mascara, would have liked a full size one just because I think I might actually repurchase this one as it’s making my lashes look nice and long.

RoxyL · 17/12/2018 09:50

Thank you so much for the reply. The eye brightener isn't doing anything for me either - I'm 40 and have lines and it definitely enhances them. So if I was to get this together and be organised best order is as follows?

Morning:

1: Dr Sebugh
2: Votary Moisturiser
3: Primer
4: Make up

Evening:
1: Remove make up
2: Electro cleanse stuff
3: Dr Sebugh Serum
4: Votary Moisturiser
5: Pixie Glow???

Thank you! I need all the help I can get having just had basic regime of: Cleanse and moisturise for basically ever.

My skin feels amazing by the way. Bit of a sting and some heat from the electro cleanse stuff doesn't last long- is that normal?

Dash38 · 17/12/2018 10:08

RoxyL. You need to use the Pixie glow as a final cleanse to prepare your skin for the serum.

Stitchosaurus · 17/12/2018 11:41

As dash says, pop pixi in at step 3, then serum and moisturiser.
I get the same sting and heat from the electro cleanser but my face hasn’t fallen off yet!

Sausagefingers9 · 17/12/2018 12:33

I love the lip balm! Nice handbag size.

I’ve had the votary oil before which was just lovely. Always made my skin look so young and dewy. Looking forward to trying the cream but need to use up some of my other creams first.

Also loving the eye brightener, I did one half of my face to see the difference and it was amazing.

Not a fan of the lip gloss or mascara so would be up for swapping for the eye brightner if anyone wanted to.

RoxyL · 17/12/2018 12:37

Thank you all for your help - I know what I'm doing now! The mascara is really nice and does definitely lengthen lashes just find it a bit small - application isn't so easy with the short brush.

Happy to swap both the hair products, the eye brightener and the Laura Mercier powder if anyone is interested.

Sausagefingers9 · 17/12/2018 12:46

I love the powder, are you not getting on with it?
Should we make a list of what we would like to recieve and swap? Although still have a while till we have finished the calendar I suppose.

RoxyL · 17/12/2018 13:06

I love Laura Mercier products but I dont put any type of foundation on powder on my skin. I have really clear skin but very sensitive to things like that so I haven't even opened it...

chloechloe · 17/12/2018 15:35

I’m not too excited about today’s lip balm, I’m not really a fan of menthol in lip products. And I’ve just ordered a back up of my favourite lip balm - Baume de Rose!

I’m way behind on my Christmas shopping and so am debating whether to gift my unopened candle from last year to my neighbors (2 women). Will mean one less present to buy!

I swapped a few items last year - maybe it would be easiest if everybody posts from the 25th what they’d like to swap?

starsky22 · 17/12/2018 18:45

I'm loving the eye brightener! It's one of my favourite products along with the votary cream and the Laura Mercier powder so definitely keen for any swaps involving them!

I'm liking the lip balm, the tingly feeling is quite nice! Probably not something I'd rebuy though.

bellabelly · 17/12/2018 22:49

Just catching up on this thread - I LOVE the hair perfume spray, much to my surprise. I'd never have looked twice at hair perfume in a shop because it just sounds so silly!

Today's Eve Lom lip stuff is a bit too tingly for me I think. Favourite so far is the Votary cream which I'm using morning and night and my skin feels amazing. I still have lots of the Votary oil left over from last year so I've started using that first and then putting the cream on after. Worried I am developing an expensive habit here!

Twotabbycats · 17/12/2018 23:47

Haven't opened the lip balm yet as I wanted to see what everyone said about it! Seems to be split opinion. I will be offering the mascara to swap (though I am in France) as I can't wear mascara.

I wanted to love the cleanser from a couple of days ago, as it sounds as if it should smell lovely but actually I found it a bit overpowering. And I thought it should be more gel like, and it didn't do a great job of getting my make up off...

On the other hand I love the votary moisturiser, the dr sebagh serum, pixi glow which I use already, and the Laura mercier setting powder so I'm doing pretty well. I think I'll like the REN primer as well though haven't tried it yet - keep forgetting!

Didsomeonesaybunny · 18/12/2018 00:05

I have loved the last weeks surprises.

I am the eve lom lip care - have it on this evening and my lips feel really soft. Haven’t tried out the votary moisturiser but use their cleansing oil which I love, just a shame the moisturiser isn’t fragranced.

The Byredo hair perfume is to die for, I am going to get a full size I think. I’m a big fan of Byredo perfume.

WellTidy · 18/12/2018 03:56

Just finding this thread! Dh bought me the advent calendar this year, i5 is my first beauty calendar. I wasn’t sure for th3 first week, but I am loving it now. My favourite is the REN primer, but looking forward to the cleansers, votary moisturiser, hourglass mascara and the sheet mask especially.

I won’t be using the lip balm as I don’t like menthol. I am up for a swap if anyone is interested.

chickydoo · 18/12/2018 06:15

Another hair thingy today.
It is nice, but not sure what the difference is to the other one.

RoxyL · 18/12/2018 06:54

I think today’s hair stuff is for smoothing hair and the previous one adds texture to fly away hair. I haven’t opened the previous hair thing as I have thick hair that can be frizzy and doesn’t need extra texture. I’m looking forward to trying today’s product before straightening. I’ll report back! I like the lip balm from yesterday but not something I’d buy again - far cheaper ones than do the same thing out there...

santababyconvertible · 18/12/2018 08:54

Day 18, another hair product! I don't want any of these hair products!!

Stitchosaurus · 18/12/2018 09:08

I used today’s hair spray on wet hair and I do think my hair looked less frizzy after blow drying. Gave it another few spritzes when it was dry too...supposed to add shine and stop flyaways, my hair looks nice so I’m happy!

Last year it felt like there were lots of cleansers, maybe they’ve switched that to hair products this year!

chloechloe · 18/12/2018 10:00

I have high hopes for this. I have a Davines Oi Shampoo which is amazing, so hopefully this will be good too. Having said that I spend zero time doing my hair at the moment with 3 kids (I prioritise slapping on makeup instead!) so it may well stay unopened for a while.

WellTidy · 18/12/2018 11:26

The hair products aren’t doing it for me either. I have really fine hair, and not enough of it, so I a must really limited in what I use. LOVing that there is a possibility of a candle. Candles and reed diffusers are what do it for me.
