Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

Thanks for sorting the calendar MrsL.

My Christmas wish list is:
Tom Ford - Mandarino di Amalfi
Diptyque- I can't spell it but the fig one
Lush - what would love do
4160 Tuesdays - a 100ml bottle of London
Chanel 19
I will be very surprised if I get any of these!

Love Chloe Narcisse, Calm. Beautiful!

SOTE D&G Pour Femme.

UnnecessaryFennel · 13/11/2018 22:23

Oh god, narrow it down to only FIVE??

In no particular order

Tauer - Une Rose Chypree (or Au Coeur du Desert, I'm not fussy)
Dior - Diorissimo (vintage)
4160 Tuesdays - Creamy Vanilla Crumble 100mls
Donna Karan - Black Cashmere (the original in the black pebble bottle, never sniffed it, bet I would love it)
Chanel - Coromandel 200mls

I would also really love to try Le Feu d'Issey...actually we should have a list of your top five that you've never actually sniffed Grin

SOTD LADDM.

Swapped my SOTE to Samsara. Mmmmm. Joy. Goodnight.

MrsLucas · 14/11/2018 01:20

God Fennel, I had Le Feu D'Issey on the list I've been dithering around with! Can't remember enough about it, but did sniff it back in the day (some people point to the milky/gunpowder of Amour Nocturne as a distant relative?).

Love the idea of top 5 unsniffed. Much easier to pick Smile:

Nombre Noir, Shiseido.
Au Coeur du Desert, Tauer.
Miss Balmain.
Talisman, Balenciaga.
Sikkim, Lancome.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 14/11/2018 06:48

Why are my posts not formatting properly? Please note, I CAN do paragraphs and neat lists usually.
I have a list already of need-to-haves-but-never-smelled, it's more than 5 but probably tops would be:
Dryad (that's because of you lot)
Sacre by Caron
Nuit de Noel by Caron
Chypre by City
Old Vol de Nuit

SOTD - my first 4160T purchase creamy vanilla crumble.
The package was beautiful. I see what others were saying about them being uncomplicated scents. I like it but it’s very mild.

Calmanddance · 14/11/2018 09:20

Cherry, I hope you enjoy Creamy Vanilla Crumble! I agree with you, it’s gentle, but it does waft in and out for ages. I love the tobacco note in this.

I always have loads on my wish-to-try list, but the top five I can think of are:

Zadig - This is Him
Guerlain - Gourmand Coquin
L’Artisan Nois Exquis
Miller Harris Tender
Patou Joy (Vintage)

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/11/2018 09:45

SOTD Chanel 19, for a double whammy of a scary work meeting, and a trip to the dentist. Yikes.

I have Byredo Bibliotheque on my Christmas list - my mum's already got it for me - but other things I would like:

MMM Beach Walk - although I wouldn't be able to wear it for another six months
Heeley Cuir Pleine Fleur - I have a sample of this, and am rationing it out
Diptyque Geranium - I've never sniffed this, but I love anything geranium scented. Geranium + lavender combined is the jackpot, tbh.
One of the Chanel Exclusifs, but I don't know which. I am hoping we are going to Paris at Easter, so I will be ON IT then. The Paris trip was DP's Christmas present to me the year he got made redundant, so is well overdue. I reckon it now includes perfume!

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 14/11/2018 10:06

Judy- best combo ever is geranium-lavender-neroli. I used to burn that combo of oils. Geranium is my favourite flower just because of that wonderful smell when you rub the leaves.

SheHasNotions · 14/11/2018 10:34

SOTD is the cheesily named Signorina Misteriosa. Its another gourmand, I'm afraid Grin. Blackberries and cream. It has a Black Opium vibe to it minus the coffee. I got a sample in a Perfume Society box ages ago, liked it a lot and sa w a 30ml bottle on offer, so couldnt resist Grin.

Un-sniffed and longing for:

Dior Midnight Poison
Vintage Houbigant Quelques Fleurs
Annick Goutal Le Muguet
Cacharel Gloria
Versace Blonde

cantbelievemyeyes · 14/11/2018 16:35

I have a rollerball of the Diptyque Geranium Judy and it's lovely. Not the longest lasting but I really enjoyed it this summer.

Top 5-ish for my Christmas wish list (at the moment):

Nasomatto Baraonda- probably going to get this to share with DH
Diptyque- 5 EDP discovery set, as I'm after Philosykos, Tam Dao and something else which are all in the set.
Frederic Malle- Noir Epices
Robert Piguet- Fracas
Serge Lutens- Santal Majuscule or Chergui

I'd also really like the fancy gold travel case to put my Baccarat Rouge refills in, but unless we win the lottery I am NOT spending £90 on an empty metal container.

SOTD is the PP dupe of MFK Oud Satin Mood. Still so impressed with this, it last ages.

Home, bathed and in Creamy Vanilla Crumble. DP said, what's that and gave an appreciative sniff. Not so appreciative when I told him that I want 100mls for £150 for Christmas Grin

SOTD LJR Sandalwood Sacre again. I'm a sucker for a good sandalwood in Autumn.

Fantastiqueangel · 14/11/2018 20:54

Sotd is PP Fracas. Not smelt the proper one so no idea if it's similar but I love it!

Fantastiqueangel · 14/11/2018 21:17

Just showered and putting on YSL Y.

SheHasNotions · 14/11/2018 22:13

I’m in Samsara EDT again for SOTE.

Fracas is glorious @ fantastique. I haven’t sniffed the PP dupe, but if it’s anything approaching the original, it’s s delight.

Fantastiqueangel · 14/11/2018 22:17

I must try the original to compare, but I love the dupe!

SheHasNotions · 14/11/2018 22:35

Fracas wasn’t on my radar initially, when my perfume knowledge was nada. I fell in love with Madonna Truth or Dare (which I still own and love), which is supposed to be inspired by Fracas.

Then got a tiny decant of vintage Fracas to try...loved.

Finally got a full bottle (newer formulation) ...and it is gorgeous. The most beautiful, realistic tuberose & gardenia ever. Spoils most other tuberose fragrances for me, though., as they never live up to it!
