We need a thread advent calendar! How can we make this happen? Shall we allocate ourselves numbers 1-25 and each try something new, and describe it here, on our allotted day. Could put a photo up?

Evening- I posted a few times on the last thread, and am really struggling against the urge to buy every nice new thing I smell right now! SOTD is Samsara.

I've only tried two from 4160 Tuesdays- Captured by Candlelight on the half price, which came with a sample of Dark Heart of Old Havana. I love Dark Heart so am tempted to get a 9ml of that- Candlelight is pleasant but wouldn't rebuy, as I get more candlewax than anything else with it.

After the success of their By the Fireplace, I ordered quite a few PP dupes in 3ml roll-ons, mainly of stuff that I'd probably never pay the real price for. Most of it is bloody brilliant for the money. MFK Oud Satin Mood and Creed Aventus dupes are crazy close to the originals so will be getting bigger bottles of those.

A further thought. Are we going to open something of our own that we keep back for our day? Or are we going to add complexity...and potentially fun, by sending things to each other. That would be a thread Secret Santa/advent calendar mash-up. Views???

Hi everyone, fighting perfume insanity atm. Sotd is Dune - does it remind me of Opium? Had some lovely samples last month Moon dance and Metal chypre both by Juliette has a gun - zero sillage or longevity on me though.

I am really really sleep deprived and so I'm not quite sure what I'm signing up for, but I bloody love an advent calendar so I'm in.

(Despite celebrating Christmas as a kid, apparently we were too Jewish for all the bits that involved chocolate so I never had one as a child. Making up for it now).

SOTD is MMM Lipstick On. I was expecting this to be quite brash and 'artificial', when in fact it's a pleasant, old-fashioned powdery iris. I'm mildly disappointed though, tbh, was hoping for something a bit more divisive

Sotd is Eau d iparie vintage - warm myrrh, incense, Sandalwood and some florals I think. The modern version lists loads of notes but the vintage only two, but is definitely more woody.

Was very tempted by something niche in TK Maxx this week, is it just me or do you all stand at the perfumes there looking them up on Fragantica to see if they are worth a punt?

Count, yes, that's me too. If I ever see someone staring intently at their phone whilst they check out a bottle, I might just say hello. . I have been known to offer advice when people have found perfume they don't know about in TK Maxx. I am a sad geek but they should give me a Saturday job . They could pay me in perfume.
