Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

MrsR there are so many things going around. I had a class cover on Wednesday and a boy sat directly in front of me and coughed for 90 minutes solid. I figured I was done for. I look disgusting, my nose is just a crusty sore, and I have the hairdresser tomorrow. WOE.

If anyone remembers Lush Geophizz bath bomb, it smells like that. Pine galore

I have had it threatening for literally months. I thought I would hang on until we broke up, then boom. Hopefully it will be out of the way for Christmas.

CountFosco · 14/12/2018 22:42

DD vomited in class yesterday so missed her nativity (she was narrator!) today. Poor thing has eaten a few grapes for breakfast and half a slice of beans on toast for lunch. Slept through tea as well. Hope ahe's feeling at least a bit better tomorrow.

SotD song for a Queen. Smells like germoline/Rootbeer. Not sure why as it doesn't have sassafra or wintergreen as a note. Not a fan.

Suggestible as ever I'm in Opium flanker Fleur Imperiale. House looks like a bomb site and I have a thousand things to do...

MrsLucas · 15/12/2018 09:46

Do you reckon a PP order will come in time for Christmas?

Lotsofpots · 15/12/2018 09:47

For those who open the advent calendar first thing each day, a heads up that I'll be posting a bit later today. Sorry!

Calmanddance · 15/12/2018 10:09

MrsLucas, PP put a message on their Facebook last Monday:

Dear All...We have had to pull the plug on orders, its getting too much for us to cope with. I am grateful to all our customers who choose to spend their money on our products.

We are still processing orders from the 30th of November, priority is to clear the backlog asap and once that is done then we will reopen for orders.

Really sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for understanding.

Clarification We will honour the orders that have already been placed on the site

So, I would definitely contact them before placing a Christmas order.

On a better news note, my sample spray bottles have arrived, so will be able to get samples out to you soon, hopefully today.😊

Have been testing Lanvin Scandal. This is so beautiful. True, there are no topnotes so it jumps straight into the heart, but it’s such a rich oakmossy delight, leathery but not harsh. I love it!

namastayinbed · 15/12/2018 13:43

Just bought myself a Bloom advent calendar in Superdrug for £6! Not loving the lime and basil dupe, but then I don't like the jo Malone version either! Woodsalt and sage smells delicious.

teta · 15/12/2018 14:15

Sold is Liz Earle No 15 for a early visit to the hairdresser this morning. Now I’m home and vegetating in front of the fire. It’s so cold, bleak and windy, I don’t want to go out again.
Commiserations to everyone who’s ill and I hope you all get better in time for Christmas. 3 kids have broken up for the holidays here bar one who’s still at Uni and we’re feeling Christmassy. We’re going to Germany for a few days next week for the Xmas markets and I’ve realised the two boys don’t have any warm clothes that they fit into any more. An imminent trip to Sports Direct/ H&M beckons ( are there any other shops for teenage boys?) ........but just not today .

I find verbena v citrusy. It's lovely though, one of my favourite smells

CountFosco · 15/12/2018 17:29

Kokoloco EA has a lot of citrus in it, it's very much like iced tea. I've not noticed rhubarb though.

Lotsofpots · 15/12/2018 21:19

Advent calendar finally up. Sorry it's so late - a tricky day.
No SOTE today as I just had a bath with my favourite bath oil so want that to linger.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/12/2018 21:34

SOTD L’Air de Rien, which I can’t smell. I think I am on advent calendar on Monday which could be a struggle.

I managed to get the pp version of Dior Joy just before they stopped taking orders. I’d smelled it a few times previously at duty free and in Boots and the pp version is a fantastic dupe. The only difference is the first blast is more citrusy in the original but when it settles there is no difference

I know the reviews for this scent are not great but it’s a really nice daytime/office scent. It’s nothing groundbreaking and they’ve gone down the mass appeal route but it’s a really nice scent nonetheless
