Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

MrsL I would love to try Hyperbole, thank you! Even though it’s a very reasonable price, I don’t want to blind buy. I have far too many perfumes that are just okay, not amazing, on my skin. Would you like to try This is Her? Or something else? Warning: This is Her is very sweet!

How coincidental is it that you have just bought Chunga Weil 😊. I have started to test a bargain batch of 5 miniatures that I bought for a total £4 from a charity shop basket by the till a year or so ago. They were unboxed so I have no idea exactly how old they are, but researching as best I can, they are 70s/80s/90s. One of them is Chunga Weil and it is absolutely amazing - vintage, deep and rich. It is definitely feminine but I can’t distinguish any of the notes.

cantbelieve, I enjoyed your review and am so pleased you enjoyed Shazam!

Calmanddance · 06/12/2018 21:07

Oh, meant to post a photo of the miniatures - here it is!

PM me your address Calm, and I'll send some.

Insense is a brilliant find - a LT 5* no less!

I’m rebelling against warm & spicy autumn winter fragrances and going to bed in Paris Premieres Roses. Such a soft and lovely rosy scent. Haven’t worn it in over a year. Beautiful.

teta · 07/12/2018 08:57

Shehasnotions I really enjoy Rose perfumes at night. Especially in Cold weather. I spray Drole de Rose by L artisan or La fille de Berlin. I also have a sleep spray that I use on my pillow with Frankinsence and hops in 😁.
Pure distance White is my Sotd. This is so smooth and a beautifully blended Patchouli and Orris. It’s a real cold weather perfume being warm, woody and a bit spicy.

LOVE Fille de Berlin, teta. Its on my FB wishlist.

Calmanddance · 07/12/2018 14:59

MrsL, yes, Givenchy Insense is beautiful, a citrussy fir, basil and floral concoction. You can see I have made inroads into it already (it was a full but only 7 mls miniature bottle). I saw that Luca Turin liked it, so on this occasion he had good taste! Have you tried it?

SOTD was Estée Lauder Knowing. This is such a classy perfume.

I wore proper YSL Paris today off the back of the flanker last night. Insane longevity. Two sprays this morning and I am still getting big wafts of it now.

Ofsted inspectors have left the building. Time for some 🍷

MrsLucas · 07/12/2018 17:24

Hope it went OK Notions?

Yes Calm. Have a bottle from years ago. Husband left it abandoned at back of
the bathroom cabinet along with the original Eau Sauvage and PS's London.Grin.

MrsLucas · 07/12/2018 18:17

Count - good to read your review of Cabochard! Good luck on ebay; anything mid 80s and before will be a reliably good formulation (avoid anything with a barcode on the box).

Hi friendly perfumistas, I'm wondering if anyone can help....

I am clueless about perfume and aftershave and DH has asked for some more Crabtree & Evelyn West Indian Lime cologne for Christmas. However it seems to be discontinued or out of stock everywhere.

What can I get him that is similar. So quite fresh, citrussy and a bit spicy. Any recommendations?

Thanks so much, I've been going round in circles online for ages now Confused

Jo Malone orange bitters today. This one has great longevity unlike others I have tried. Not overwhelmingly orange but well blended.
