Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

I like nice scents too, although it’s only really taken off in the past couple of years. I have ASD, so it may be partly a sensory thing for me, as in really liking nice smells. But then my mother really likes perfume and scented candles etc, and she doesn’t have ASD. I don’t know if it’s hormonal for her, I think she just really likes them!

Oh wow Teta! We're now multimedia! Thanks for a great review and coping with the administrative confusion.

Mrsr8 - that doesn't sound right. I'll PM you. If all participating Perfumistas wouldn't mind using the editing link to take a quick look at the calendar and check their names are behind the dates they are expecting, that's probably the best way to flush out any remaining issues. Please PM me if you find anything unexpected and we'll sort.

MrsLucas · 04/12/2018 21:11

Calendar Perfumistas - have tried to check your PM dates against calendars, but my MN inbox data isn't refreshing properly when moving between messages . Suggest we run with the dates in the calendar - any probs - please shout.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/12/2018 21:33

SOTD was Chanel 19.

mrsR I owe you a parcel, but have not sent one! All my messages are lost with addresses because I had to reregister on MN. (Couldn’t remember my password.) Did Santa come early?

I am tomorrow on the calendar and ashamed my review is rubbish compared to the others!

Judy you’re my advent partner and I know your review won’t be rubbish Grin. Your package was so lovely (love that wrapping paper!)...abd I liked my first sample very much....so you’re a winner with me 😆

teta... your review sounds like a slightly dirty gourmand dream! I wish o could afford a pre-Christmas perfume splurge 😬

Calmanddance · 04/12/2018 22:46

Mrsr8, if the parcel included The Great Randello, it was me! Sorry, I think I forgot to include a note.

With the advent calendar, I think you need to use the link that MrsL pm’d to you and not the public one, in order to be able to post a review? But maybe you’re already doing that, in which case I’m puzzled 🤔.

We’re swathed in fog up our hill and it’s dank, damp and horrible.
Rosee de nuit by Friedemodin. I’m sad that this brand appears to have gone. The website has disappeared. They actually made perfumes I want to wear. Unlike many new offerings.I’ve ordered so many niche sample sets recently and 90% are disappointing and not unique in any way. My new loves are not niche at all - Eau d iparie by L Occitane and Liz Earle No 15.

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/12/2018 09:43

Oh, that's sad about Friedemodin. Funnily enough I was considering wearing Rosee de Nuit today as in my 'mildly' hungover state I thought a sour sharp rose might be a pick-me-up. But I'm feeling so utterly pathetic that I went for Vanilla Flash instead - it's the closest thing to crawling back under the duvet I could get away with Blush

teta I adore LE no15. It's been my winter fragrance for years now and I never tire of it.

SOTD is a sample of Commodity Book. I really like it. Initial blast was much fresher than I expected but it has quickly settled into something warm and comfortable - sandalwood and cedar I think. A surprise as from the name I expected something leathery and dry.

Good review Judy! Loving this calendar.

I've tried Byzantium Saffron myself previously and I dont think its your nose - I think it is a very gentle fragrance and would have been better with a bit more oomph.

I have caved and ordered a couple of samples from eBay (been on a spending ban, but come on...two teeny tiny little samples...that's only a miniscule Bad Thing, isnt it? Grin).

Laura Mercier Vanille Gourmande (craving vanilla more than ever lately) and Shalimar Souffle. I cant stand the original Shalimar, despite the notes sounding right y street and lots of Guerlain perfumes being a safe bet for me. Hoping this version tickles my fancy....

Freidemodin is no more? Wails.......... The sample set is now showing at £45; inflation at work; I paid £22 IIRC, but only want Feu Follet.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/12/2018 15:55

SOTD is MH L'Air de Rien.

I now really want a bottle of Hyperbole.

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/12/2018 16:39

Apparently mine will be waiting for me at home, squeee! There are several on eBay Judy so probably worth a punt...
