Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

SOTD Killer Rose to garnish my murderous mood.

UnnecessaryFennel · 03/12/2018 21:08

Floofy, I'd be very happy indeed with a sample, if you're sure? I will pm you, thank you Smile

SOTD has been MG Cherry. I'm in two minds about this. I do like the sourness of it, but it's fairly linear and I was a bit bored of it by lunchtime.

Is there a link to the calendar? I've looked back on the thread but can't find it. I want to read all your reviews!

MrsL, you have Courreges Hyperbole, don't you? There's a very tempting bottle on ebay but I don't want to blind buy without a perfumista thumbs-up.

SOTD was JHAG Mad Madame, but now testing one of my advent calendar samples. I have had the cold for weeks now - it never comes full tilt, but is always lingering - so fear my review will be a bit rubbish.

MrsLucas · 03/12/2018 23:32

Great review today! (I distractedly skimmed the first couple of lines whilst in school run multi-task mode this morning, saw the words sex and lube, and feared we'd been in hacked Grin!).

Fennel - extremely glad there is more than one bottle as I might have had to swipe it, and then name change forever! Both thumbs up - it's a rich modern balsamic vanilla with white pepper, cedar and tobacco. Rich and viscous (well, it smells like is should be), but not excessively sweet. Plus, in case you need convincing, Grace Jones was the muse, and it obviously has the best name for a perfume. Ever.

Lotsofpots · 04/12/2018 06:40

Realised I forgot to add my name to yesterday's advent addition - but as tet indicated, it was me.
I loved writing it. I'm not particularly knowledgable about perfumes but I really want to learn (inspired by how informed and knowledgeable you all are), and found looking up, thinking about and trying to describe the notes and my thoughts really enjoyable.

< mad panic at 6.45 >.
Wails.......
I can’t get the link to work ....,,,,,,

MrsLucas · 04/12/2018 10:13

Really sorry Teta - sounds like I've stuffed up.

MrsLucas · 04/12/2018 10:14

Are you using link from PM? Unfortunately am on road today, but will check back in as soon as I can.

teta · 04/12/2018 10:44

Yes, but it doesn’t work. Can’t be found.

Calmanddance · 04/12/2018 12:09

Have sent you my link, teta. Hopefully it will work!

SheHasNotions · 04/12/2018 12:18

SOTD Coco Mademoiselle. Slightly uninspired, but a reliable workhorse while the inspectors are roaming the corridors here Grin.

Laska2Meryls · 04/12/2018 14:21

I went and had a browse at lunchtime for my friends present and think I have fallen for Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau so Fresh.. has anyone else tried it?

teta · 04/12/2018 15:11

Thank you Calm.Hopefully it’s worked this time 👍.

Amberama is lovely, isn’t it? mrsr8

CountFosco · 04/12/2018 17:33

SotD SL Le Participe Passe. Lots of dried fruit and mollasses, I smell like a glass of Pedro Ximenez. This is a good thing and as soon as we're home I'm having a glass.

Blimey teta that was a treat.

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/12/2018 18:55

So I bought the Hyperbole Blush. Grace Jones tipped me over the top.

And now, I'd just like to give a little perfumista shout-out to Clinique Beyond Rose, which arrived today. It is absolutely divine. A warm, spicy, balsamic, cinnamon rose that seems to meld to the skin, with a slightly Turkish Delight edge but not sweet. It reminds me hugely of something from my childhood but it's only 4 years old, so I guess there's also a vintage vibe to it as well. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys roses - I am tempted by a FB already.

The Clinique sounds rather lovely. My samples arrived! On first sniff, Guerlain Le Petit Robe Noir seems lovely.

Fantastiqueangel · 04/12/2018 19:38

French went to pot! La petite robe noire!

OutComeTheWolves · 04/12/2018 19:46

The perfume society niche box arrived today. I'd ordered it weeks ago and had just sent an email this morning demanding a refund because I was sick of waiting. I'm so glad I didn't get the refund- it's amazing!

I've been walking around with captured by candlelight on one wrist and molecule 04 on the other. Think I'm going to go with map of the heart v7 for work tomorrow.
