Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

Yes have had a look at AP Mrs8 but wonder if they are all a bit the same as the one she has ?..

Its difficult when you haven't smelt them yourself .. I think I will have to go and check out Boots or JL.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/12/2018 21:41

SOTD Liz Earle 15, although it has been a pj day here. DP’s been away at football so I watched terrible Christmas films, wrote cards, had a big bath, and did some batch cooking.

Ooh Dior Addict sounds like something I would like , actually.. I'll definitely give that one a sniff..

I like the sound of the Marc Jacobs Daisy so Fresh ,also.. (but its difficult to buy for someone else ) ..

Laska2Meryls · 02/12/2018 21:51

Other thing I thought was a JoLoves tester box?

Laska2Meryls · 02/12/2018 21:53

But thats a bit more ££ but it could be a joint present from more than one of us ..

SheHasNotions · 02/12/2018 22:52

Big difference between Daisy (fresh , fruity floral, daytime) and Addict (dark spicy sexy vanilla)

Maybe gather some more info slyly? Grin

SOTE was Fancy (Jessica Simpson). I needed it for hosting massive family dinner. It worked. Fabulous, heavy hitting gourmand. Caramel pear, almond, splash of white floral. Strong, sweet, addictive.

MrsLucas · 02/12/2018 23:45

Christmas cake finally in the oven...

Lotsofpots · 03/12/2018 06:57

Laska if she like florals, a floral street exploration kit? I've found them all on the sweeter side, with coffee/vanilla etc featuring, which I enjoy.

Lotsofpots · 03/12/2018 07:01

Judy that sounds like a perfect day.

Calmanddance · 03/12/2018 07:04

Laska, if you’re going to JL check out the Bottega Veneta range. They do beautiful florals. My favourite is Knot. Perhaps a bit pricey though.

Laska2Meryls · 03/12/2018 07:14

all good info thanks .. ill check those suggestions all out ..

teta · 03/12/2018 09:25

Laska Bottega Venuta Knot is reduced on the Tk Maxx website at the moment.
Wearing Sarah Ireland Crushed Velvet again. I absolutely love this smell. A spicy Rose and Sandalwood that really doesn’t smell like any other perfume I’ve tried. But it disappears on my skin so fast and lasts slightly longer on clothes. Either that, or I’m anosmic to one of the ingredients. I can smell the other three perfumes in the range beautifully and they’re all so different and unusual. Really not derivative at all.
Lots of pots your Arbole arbole review is brilliant.
I get salty play dough 😁.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 03/12/2018 09:35

Count- I sent my Mum and Aunt (both in nursing homes) the Bloom and Wild trees last year and will do so again this year, they are lovely, and when I visited in January, both were still going strong.

I have been trying to be good and trying things...Saturday Incense and Embers....shrieking men's aftershave for a good half an hour (am sure people thought they were in the presence of Enery Cooper doing a Brut advert) but then it settled into what it said on the tin....yesterday Cardinal- beautiful but everyone kept saying I smelled like the thurible hadn't been cleaned out and today Mitsouko- s'alright, but not my favourite classic Guerlain.

Speckledy- roller balls- Perfume Parlour do magnificent dupes of most famous perfumes in roller ball.

Flighty- London 1969 is (along with Ealing Green) the only 4160 I truly love- it doesn't smell remotely of London 1969 though, I agree- I remember being called in from playing to watch the moon landings (I was 4) but it is at least a 4160 that isn't heavy on the sweet fruit, the opening belies what happens next- it could veer off into typical sweet fruit but doesn't.

Love today's advent review! And I want me some of that (also a vanilla whore who loves smelling like pudding Grin).

SOTD Burberry Brit. I have a hangover on a Monday morning (DH too handy with topping up my wine glass at family gathering last night). OFSTED are here. Better dash off! Grin

FloofyCatLovesChristmas · 03/12/2018 10:55

Amazing reviews so far! I'm a little worried I won't be half as articulate - "it's really nice...I like it" Grin

Tree decorated with perfume miniatures is a fabulous idea! Or we could make empty bottles into baubles My tree is already up, however it is pink and I have read elsewhere on MN that this is considered terribly tasteless and lower class[santa] At least I don't have coloured flashing lights (although this is only due to epilepsy or I'd have loads Wink)

Fennel are you tempted by a FB of Powdered Veil or are you after a sample? I got a sample of it in my FeelUnique ones, so if you would like it PM me, on paper I should adore it but don't, sadly.

SOTD is Mugler Aura. I think I hate it but I can't stop sniffing my wrist Confused

Ladominate14 · 03/12/2018 17:52

Can anyone recommend an almondy but not overly sweet perfume to try?

Dowser · 03/12/2018 18:47

Bought some Jeanne arthes
Amore mio forever
For a friend’s birthday

Does anyone know if it smells nice
The very unhelpful woman in the fragrance shop not only had no testers, didn’t help me at all in an empty shop to find something suitable and then robbed me of £10

😡😡😡

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 03/12/2018 18:51

Ladominate-Prada Infusions d'amande or Aqua Di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia are both almondy but not over sweet.

Dowser · 03/12/2018 18:54

Ipsy! I’ve opened it and it smells light and fresh
Reminds me of something

Je me sais que

Dowser · 03/12/2018 19:42
