Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

Close to my Heart Judy? Sounds good, although I also like the sound of Ginsberg is God. Trip to the newsagent this morning I think!

auberginesrus · 16/11/2018 07:14

Love the new thread title, and have spent a couple of days catching up. Have been avoiding bad things with Christmas around the corner!
Popped in to say that I rediscovered my sample of Dryad recently and have fallen in love. It's gorgeous. So it would definitely be number one on my Christmas list, unfortunately DH asked me last night why smelt like an old lady Sad

auberginesrus · 16/11/2018 07:27

And meant to say, the longevity is amazing - the old lady comment was about 14 hours after I put it on!

UnnecessaryFennel · 16/11/2018 07:28

SOTD is Freidemodin Rosee de Nuit. Lovely sour floral.

Will pick up that Bella Freud today I think!

Got the Bella Freud. A very soapy tuberose so far. Will be interested to see how this develops.

Morning all. Have my first driving test today and I'm undecided whether to wear any fragrance or not. Let's just say last couple of lessons have not gone well and I feel sick, so I may go without. Or, drench myself in rescue remedy. Bleurgh.

SheHasNotions · 16/11/2018 10:14

Good luck cantbelievemyeyes! I found my driving tests (plural!) hideously stressful, but so glad I persevered...you can do it!
Personally, I wouldn’t wear any perfume in case it becomes associated with the driving test horror forever more Grin.

SOTD is Fior Di Panna, a sample I got in a perfume society box that I only tried for the first time yesterday...and I absolutely LOVE it. In fact, I need a FB ASAP! Grin.

It’s a full on powder bomb with a creamy heliotrope-ish drydown. I wore it to bed last night, and today have layered it with powdery Love Chloe. Delightful.

cantbelievemyeyes · 16/11/2018 10:28

Thanks SheHasNotions, that's a good point! I don't feel ready at all and would be very surprised if I can keep it together. At least it'll be done soon and I can have a stiff drink tonight Grin

MrsLucas · 16/11/2018 14:01

Good luck Myeyes!

Yes, I'd avoid doing anything that might not play well with the examiner...

Have joined the rush to the newsagents. . Whoever said soapy tuberose is right! Pleasant but not especially remarkable?

Back in Le Participe Passe which is great.

UnnecessaryFennel · 16/11/2018 14:17

That was me, MrsL. I was hoping it was going to develop into something more exciting but...it hasn't. Nice enough though; will probably keep it in my desk drawer at work for pick-me-up spritzes.

Also got my soapy tuberose, it's a mini Big Sniff Grin. Quite enjoying it but not FB worthy.

Well it couldn't have gone much worse, failed within 30 seconds and test over in 10 minutes. So glad I didn't wear perfume as it would be ruined forever. SOTE will be the booze I plan on drowning myself in...

SheHasNotions · 16/11/2018 16:11

I spectacularly flopped first and second tests myeyes, so chin up and have a nice Wine tonight...then back on the horse ASAP.

If I can pass my test anyone can...seriously, I was THAT bad Grin.

Thanks ladies, think I'm a bit in shock at just how bad it was. I know it's not the end of the world but I feel so upset with myself! Unfortunately can't get another test before we relocate 200 miles away in January, so will need to find a new instructor and get to know a whole new area before rebooking.

I may have started the wine already, and cracked open my sample of Ralph Lauren Woman from FeelUnique. This is really nice and has perked me up a bit- fruity, light tuberose, a little bit woody.

FannyBurney · 16/11/2018 17:34

Love the sound of that Fior di Panna.

I also want to try 4160 An Excess of Carelessness. Has anyone smelled it?

SOTD was Molinard Heliotrope- a fine go-to-work smell for me.

SOTE is rhubarb and custard. I keep my 9ml in the kitchen!

MrsLucas · 16/11/2018 17:38

Never mind Myeyes. I failed my first one before leaving the test centre car park Blush. Passed three weeks later though - can you ask for a cancellation?

MrsLucas · 16/11/2018 17:50

No Fanny - is it a special edition?

I see The Sexiest Scent is half price this week....

I saw An Excess of Carelessness mentioned on their on their Facebook group today: it was made for a Gatsby themed academic event, with ingredients from early 20s. They only made a little the first time, but have just made some more. It sounds amazing.
