I have hit pan on a Mac Omega eye shadow, which I am very excited about. It has taken ages. I mainly use this eye shadow for my brows.

Bought the John Lewis advent calendar as it was reduced to half price. No more makeup shopping for me for a while!

Experiment627 · 02/12/2018 15:59

@RiskIt4Biscuit half price???? Amazeballs!!!

I do not think my M&S advent has arrived (have had sent to my mum's as door bell broken... again!!!) - could it be I lost out cos I returned the items I bought to get it? 😳

I did the ASOS advent in one go on Friday - good but quite similar to last year. I am doing the Look Fantastic one correctly.

Just been through stash and selected a few items for stockings/women's shelter. I have no idea where I will fit in the advents to come!!!

Here are some pics of stash before mini-cull:

It's eyeshadows and blushers that never end for me.

CantChoose · 02/12/2018 19:55

Milly I am fairly sure that all make up except for mascara and foundation is pretty much immortal!

ememem84 · 02/12/2018 21:33

Powder foundation done.

I wore a green eyeshadow today. #daring

CantChoose · 02/12/2018 22:50

I've just thrown out a clarins gentle peel sample tube, it must have been really old as it had totally dried out. Oops.

Experiment627 · 03/12/2018 10:23

Wahoo!! @ememem84

So here is latest list:

  • Lush shampoo bar: got a but yucky so used up as a hand soap. I love these as so portable but have yet to find one that really works for me.
  • Naturtint anti-ageing cc cream for hair 200ml: open for about 3 years and has a 6m shelf life 😂😂😂 not empty but I will never use and need the space!!!
  • EOS lip balm: I have hit "pan" so it is uncomfortable to use. This has been a God send though!

Idiot question. When do you count a mascara as 'finished'?

ememem84 · 03/12/2018 11:06

At work. Green eyeshadow again today.

I count a mascara as finished when it goes a bit dry and clumpy. My ysl plum one is still going strong.

Nakedavenger74 · 03/12/2018 11:13

Thanks @ememem84 I'm still hanging onto 2 dry Chanel ones and a gloopy YSL one (so gloopy the bristles are all stuck down when it comes out the tube) thinking there's life in them.

Caggie09 · 03/12/2018 15:38

I got rid of a Sally Hansen strenghthing nail polish remover. Repurchased, also got an Elegant touch remover. Need a good one to remove glitter!

Using the Laura Mercier primer i got in JL advent yesterday, my favourite is the Charlottle Tilbury Wonderglow. It doesnt make me all glowy and dewy. Its opened now, so going to crack on with it. Will put my Wonderglow to the side for now!

Suzyloo · 03/12/2018 16:46

Last night I used the final one of a Kiko clay mask set (three sachets). They had an odd consistency - they didn't dry like a proper clay mask but still had a sort of doughy look when I took them off. They were OK but I wouldn't buy them again. I think they were - ahem - an impulse purchase when I went in for an eyeshadow palette.

IPokeBadgers · 03/12/2018 20:24

Finished a boots no 7 protect and perfect day moisturiser....I have another one in the stash due to buying the no 7 bumper Christmas box the last couple of years....but have opened an elemis pcmc for my daily moisturizer coming into winter.

applepineapple · 03/12/2018 22:28

Another two empties from me, Garden of Wisdom 10% Azelaic Acid - really loved this and would repurchase! Atoclassic Soothing Origin Essence - another Korean brand. Liked this but didn't last for very long Sad

NiceUnusualDifferent · 04/12/2018 06:18

First empty for a while, No7 Eye makeup remover. Not bad but the packaging is awful, I have a couple more as bought when 3 for 2 but will open a Garnier biphase one for a change.

Experiment627 · 04/12/2018 15:44

I count mascara as done when it is dry and clumpy.

I have an empty:

  • Margaret Dabbs nail and cuticle serum: not keen on tea tree oil smell

NiceUnusualDifferent · 04/12/2018 20:32

Another one! Superdrug Cherry body butter - love these but have plenty to get on with 🙄

Experiment627 · 04/12/2018 21:22

I used up a Gatineau face peel sachet earlier - but could not get to work Confused

An Aussie shampoo in the bin today- likes it at first but my hair stopped liking it very quickly.

Chucked a mini They’re Real mascara- was at the end of its days and not as keen on it now I’ve discovered Lancôme Monsieur Big.

FrowningFlamingo · 04/12/2018 22:03

Nakedavenger74 I use them until they're dry / clumpy, same as experiment, or 6m for full size 3 for mini, whichever is sooner.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 05/12/2018 05:48

Reorganised my makeup from a huge drawer to a smaller (but still very big) case. It’s made me see just how much I have that doesn’t get used often. Looking forward to using some things I’d forgotten about now it’s all easy to see. I definitely don’t need any more makeup though!

tinyradish · 05/12/2018 08:35

Yes I also use until they're basically not usable any more - dry and clumpy. Some last a lot longer than others!

I've finished a sukin toner mist so have decanted some nivea aloe Vera toner into the mist bottle for now as I want to see what skincare I get for Christmas before buying more. Also just desperately trying to use things up from my stash instead of them sitting there for months/years.

Also almost finished a Nip & Fab hyaluronic acid which I'm going to have to repurchase immediately.

twoblackdogs · 05/12/2018 14:49

I may have seen a tiiiiiny pan in one of my Urban Decay eyeshadows. A large one in my pressed powder.
Still no beauty advent calendars for me this year.
Will be needing a concealer soon. Looking at that Maybelline Eraser thing. Reviews are so good. Has anyone tried that?

Caggie09 · 05/12/2018 20:16

• Omorovicza Gold hydralifting mask sachet. Got this with a Space NK order, this was nice. Smelt lovely, thick texture and sunk into my skin. Said to wipe off excess, but wasnt much left over so rubbed it in. Would of purchased, but at £120, i think not!
•Lush Naked shower gel sample in Sleepy scent. Prefer liquid, felt quite drying and a faff to storeHmm Have another 3 small sample to use up!

tinyradish · 06/12/2018 16:57

£120 - wow that is outrageous! Definitely wouldn't have wiped off that excess either! :D

I've also used up a Dermalogica calming mist - wouldn't repurchase. Odd smell & don't think it did anything really.

Superdrug were sold out of my beloved Nip & Fab dragons blood hyaluronic serum so I bought a B. 'hydrated booster' for now. It has hyaluronic acid in it so we'll see if it compares.
