DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 08:22

And of course I adore everything about this coat

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 08:25

Soooooooooo me

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 08:28

Fancy looking like a lampshade anyone?!!!

FedupNagging · 30/10/2018 08:29

That velvet dress is such a gorgeous colour Queen. I tried a similar style in Hobbs in navy

Hope you manage to get your bracelet Kitty - I remember you saying how much you wanted one.

I need some new trousers and have been trying to move away from skinnies - what is everyone else wearing? I love wide legged but find them difficult to pair up with shoes/boots in the winter - summer is really easy as flat sandals/flipflop/stans etc all go.

I popped into London last week and saw lots of fab style which makes me very happy; I saw several women (of differing ages) rocking variations of this look so think I may give it a go. I have several lovely cosy jumpers and footwear that would work so just need to find a skirt. Actually' Shop didn't you buy a loose type skirt?

Today's ootd is similar to
this look - i have this skirt and wearing it with navy boxy jumper, black opaques and black flatforms

Have a good day all

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2018 08:34

Nice Fedup..... I keep trying that loose skirt look, not working at all for me. Will be interested in your skirt finds

FedupNagging · 30/10/2018 08:36

STOP with the links Dry, I need to go to work!

Love the Myia black dress and have noticed those fabulous green boots Queen linked are available in grey too conveniently forgets can't really high heels any more

FedupNagging · 30/10/2018 08:37

Not sure it will suit me either Dry but will give it a go

justasecond · 30/10/2018 20:38

Well one on the promotion dry! Both your outfits sound great but I know what you mean about the length of skinny jeans with trainers. Looks all wrong on me unless you can see a bit of ankle. The green lkb coat is beautiful.

I actually popped home today after dropping off ds instead of going straight to work because I didn't like my outfit Blush I also made him do the kiss and drop thing rather than taking him in as I was embarrased to get out of the car Blush Blush it was these cords they looked really frumpy as they were full length on me and a bit too big. I got dressed in a hurry and they were new.

Kitty love that bracelet so much, its on the top of my wishlist! I have worn my leopard skirt with a black semi slouchy jumper and the zara cowboy boots. I think it looked ok. A lady came up to me and said I like your dress, I was going to tell her it was a skirt and jumper but then left it Grin I think you would look good in one and the warehouse one is very flattering.
Queenc love the colour of that Hush top
Blingy I love the bag. You have to buy it!
fed up I am in the same boat re trousers in the winter. I always get stuck in a skinny jeans rut as It's the warmest option. I bought the md cords to break out a bit but they didn't work on me either although I think i might size down and try again before I give up. I can see you in that midi skirt look, give it a go!
one hope the move went well and you settle back in quickly
Hi to everyone I have missed out!

justasecond · 30/10/2018 20:44

Forgot I have a big purchase to report! I can't find a link but I bought a camel coat in the Max mara outlet in Bicester. It's more of a dark beige than proper camel which is better for me as the yellow in camel can wash me out. It's one from their cheaper range, maybe even made for outlet? but the style and length worked better on me than the more expensive ones they had.

DryWhiteagainW · 01/11/2018 16:23

Sounds lovely Justa

Spotted a v chic more mature lady in town .....dressed very COS like, minimal.
Black wide legged cropped trousers,
Black chunky brogues
Black opaque legs
Black roll neck
Red lips

Now I want some black wide legged trousers to try ......even though I’m not spending Hmm

MarshaBradyo · 01/11/2018 19:20

Brilliant Justa bet it looks great

Dry make some?

What’s everyone reaching for from wardrobe now it’s cold? (Reverse if antipodean)

I’m really enjoying wearing my Etro scarf and Stella M green coat from a few years ago. I feel a bit disloyal to the Margiela pea coat which hasn’t had a look in.

Longislandicetee · 01/11/2018 22:09

Hello!!!

Very busy week including a very quick mini MU with QueenC. She had a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us when I got there a few minutes after her which we managed to polish off pretty quickly.. We only had just over an hour together but it was awesome!

I have been at home today sorting out some more life admin. Today's focus was the finances. I finally know how to get into my NSI account and feel good as I sorted out a few things. Dh and I went for lunch, with a lovely glass of wine. Weather was awful, i was wearing my fabulous Canada Goose coat which I bought in January pre beast from the East.

Favourite dress this week has been this M&S skater dress. It looks great on and is a bargainous £35. I wore it with Amethyst jewellery and burgundy zip up boots.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 02/11/2018 10:03

Hello
Just popping in to say hi. Seems like no one is that inspired by AW yet or have I missed anything? Apart from the big purchases by Justa and Kitty. Coat sounds lovely Justa - I have the same problem with beige-y camel. IIRC Blingy's Clic Clac looked good on you Kitty at the MU.

Shop haircut sounds good - did you go for it to think about going grey or just for a change?

Love the colour of that dress Blingy. Mini MU sounds fun. QueenC is it a special day for you today or have I got that mixed up?

Shame about the cords Justa they seem like they should look good, maybe sizing down is a good opetion before forgetting the whole thing.

These are the Markies jeans I am currently enamoured with.

Thought I would update about the Ordinary Vit C I have been using. Sure everyone is waiting with baited breath! Anyway it is a v odd texture - gritty and thick and doesn't feel like it soaks in to your skin at all. I do feel that it has made my skin look a bit smoother and brighter though so will persist.

A January meet up will be good for me also.

Dry the Cos lady sounds like she has Fedup's style! Well done on your promotion - is it the 'obvious' one based on what your job is? Sorry being cryptic there but don't want to out you! When would you qualify?

Shop when is your big trip and how is wardrobe planning going?

Sorry this post has been a bit of a brain dump. Hello to everyone else!

libertyonhertravels · 02/11/2018 10:14

Marsha I am struggling with the switch over to spring/summer wear. I look a bit crap - have gained a couple of kgs and my body is doing a perimenopause morph which involves my hips/bum shrinking and my boobs and tummy expanding so loads of my clothes look rubbish on me and I'm not sure what to wear especially for work. I'm getting back into exercise so hopefully I'll tone up a bit but in the meantime I need a few things I feel confident in.

Blingy have you bought the bag??? Love the sound of your skater dress outfit.

Dry I bought some wide leg black trousers and wore them at least twice a week over the last few months. One of my favourite outfits was them with olive Puma Suede trainers, Uniqlo olive merino and the Zara camel coat.

Minor beauty result - I've found a shop that stocks Pixi glow toner and LRP products - almost wept with joy!

My MIL is here for the weekend - sigh - she's hard work. Worst bit though is that she drives DH mad so he's really tense.

libertyonhertravels · 02/11/2018 10:18

Big wave to Bernice - cross post Smile. I'm hunting for a Vit C serum. Have noticed a big difference from using Pixi Glow toner regularly again and the LRP retinol.

Stokey · 02/11/2018 10:40

Lib the GOW Victoria Health one has great reviews & is very reasonable. Haven't tried it yet though.

QueenCyan · 02/11/2018 11:50

Wow, lots to catch up on!
justa bet the coat looks fab on you. You’re the epitome of the person on the expensive threads that everyone aspires to be.
bernice yes it is!
As blingy said, we had the miniest of mini meet ups but so lovely to catch up.
marsha due to working this week I’ve been living in warm cycling gear or a uniform Grin. I’m out this evening and away this weekend so planning on wearing the new stuff I have-pink blouse and navy velvet top that I bought in September and the hush top I bought at the weekend. And the new coat of course.

QueenCyan · 02/11/2018 11:51

lib I feel your pain on the perimenopause body. Just as I thought mine had settled the waistline is expanding again. The weight gain seems to be out of control.

VivaVegas · 02/11/2018 12:36

Just checking in, things still rubbish with DH and not sure now if it can be salvaged. Devastated.
Not eating properly or sleeping so need to do something for my own sanity to feel better about myself so back here amongst other things!
Picked up my M & S advent calendar yesterday, love opening this each day in December.
Need to get out in the fresh air more as that makes me feel better, looking at a Uniglo down coat, has anyone got one, any good? Like the fact it can go into a little bag as well!
Also wanting some flat, possibly fur lined ankle boots, not actual walking boots but something that will work for casual with skinnies etc. if anyone has seen any?

QueenCyan · 02/11/2018 13:57

Oh viva sorry to hear that.
Do stick around as at the very least we can distract you.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 02/11/2018 19:35

So sorry to hear it Viva :( you will be ok though Flowers

I have one of the basic Uniqlo down jackets, I bought it to layer under my Burberry trench on cold days but lately I've been wearing it on its own, it's not warm enough for winter but just right for now.

I've finally found some jeans to wear while I don't fit into my Acne skinnies (which are extremely unforgiving - I've been wearing my MiH flares no problem) - these from Zara. They don't gape at the back which is the main criteria for jeans for me.

Also had some recent orders -
Sparkly top from Warehouse, need to try on again, I got a 12 but want to make sure it looks ok on my boobs which still haven't gone back to normal.
Knitted skirt from Reiss, need to try on again as well, it wasn't thick enough to hold my afternoon belly in at all.
Ribbed sweater from Reiss, the v neck was super low and I shouldn't really be buying clingy things until I lose some weight.
Chunky cardigan from ninety percent, I ordered a couple of things from them a few weeks ago and the quality is really great.

I'm really struggling at the moment with what to wear/what to buy, I assume most of my wardrobe doesn't fit or flatter me atm it's all still under the bed and also I'm not used to wearing casual clothes all the time. Hopefully having the jeans will help. I'm tempted to get some nice loungewear, did someone say they rated the white company cashmere?

Also I would like a smart casual dress to wear to a couple of Christmas events, possibly with the sparkly turtleneck layered under. Maybe a printed midi, shirt dress, slip dress? Any idea what would suit me?

QueenC Hope you've had a lovely day!

Stokey · 02/11/2018 20:35

Oh Viva sorry things are so tough Flowers thanks for reminding me about M&S, have just gone and bought it. Didn't manage to upgrade to Fenwick's as they all sold out. I bought some chunky Boden boots last year that were fur-lined, they're comfy but more day time than night.

Blair I tend to find dresses work well when you're getting back to your body shape. Some of the Hush ones are quite good - the Tara as it's baggy on the top and tight but ruched on the bottom is a good one. Also I think it's the Emmeline which they have in navy & gold this year - keep seeing someone at work wearing this with bare legs & boots & looks really good. Also like the idea of a midi over a turtleneck. Stories have got lots that could work.

I'm still working through coat options, getting rather bored!
