WEEK FOUR WWW's 10yy bootcamp, all welcome

This is week 4 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

Had a pretty good day. A fair bit of walking and the gym again. Feeling jaded and need an early night but have stuff to do so it will probably be a late one. I hate these periods where everything seems overwhelming. Have got umpteen things to sort out and yet, here I am, reading about everyone else's day.

Winnie - sorry to read about DH. Hopefully as you become increasingly confident about your appearnace and general well-being your feelings for him will change and you will be able to distance yourself from him emotionally. Well done with the toning exercises. Did you ever buy ANY new clothes?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 07/06/2007 20:51

I am still here! Been too busy with work to MN much over past couple of weeks. Anyway, have now done a full week with my Moron. I do more steps than I thought - average 14,000 per day.

Didn't run at all during half-term (and I really missed it) but have been out twice already this week and will run again tomorrow morning. I sweat round 2km of hills on a Wednesday morning and this week I did it without having to walk I was so pleased with myself it was untrue!

Glitterfairy - you are doing well! Am very impressed you have a trainer!

Winnie - I hope you enjoyed your scream. How are you feeling today?

turquoise · 07/06/2007 20:55

Feetheart - there's also a Eucerin for the feet (it was you that liked it for the face, IIRC?)

I seem to have developed a wildly fashionable wheat allergy since eating healthily, and it bloody hurts! I've been off bread and pasta for ages now, then it all went horribly wrong yesterday and ate vast amounts of toast, and now it feels like a combination of Harry Potter's aunt bloating up and floating away, yet with the equivalent of a large breeze block sitting in my stomach, horrible. Or else it's the sit ups I did having pulled muscles, or else there's nothing wrong and I'm just utterly wet and a weed.

Anyway, the last thing I feel like doing is eating anything so that's good, but don't feel like exercising either. Will drink water and go to bed.

Winnie - huge respect to you managing to keep up the exercise when you're feeling crap.

Cappuccino · 07/06/2007 21:23

oooh feetheart can you drink now? (anniemac has worried me with her teetotalism)

not so much water today as had dds and didn't sit down

walking - ran to nursery (well I mean walked superfast because I was late) to pick up dd2

sunscreen - er, it was cloudy and I, um, forgot

healthy oh yes no choice

am got covered in Dove Summer Body stuff this morning. It is just so that dh can laugh at me when I talk about developing a 'tan' (he is part West Indian - I am almost blue-white)

prufrock · 07/06/2007 21:55

I'm still being good - and it's Thursday, and dh is out but I've still got my arse in gear and gone to the gym tonight.

Sunscreen
30 minutes of cardio this evening
50 sit-ups

4 cups coffee
3 glasses water (Must do better)
Dried fruit, nuts and seeds mid morning, then chicken, mushroom and watercress (freshly picked again - I know it's sad but eating food I've grown is what counts as an achievment in my life nowadays) salad, with linseeds. And that was it - but I haven't actually felt hungry. Though I will go and eat half a melon now.

welcome back Pamina and Duchess

motherinferior · 07/06/2007 22:00

I did eat another small slice of birthday cake but otherwise my very late supper is to consist of Fruit of various pleasant kinds in front of House on the telly. Have finally digested lunch. And done a pilates class.

I do think having small children is not conducive to making one feel gorgeous. At my most glowing, I cannot compare to the Inferiorettes

Turquoise - yes it was me that you recommended the Eucerin to, and very grateful I am, my skin looks better than it has done in years. I'll price up the Flexitol and Eucerin footcreams and try whichever is cheapest first I think - cheapskate but necessary!
Boo hiss to wheat allergy

Cappucino - oh yes, I do drink so don't panic!! I cut it out for a while, along with all the yeasty/sugery stuff but gradually reintroduced it and have been fine ever since. This was well over 10 years ago and although I don't drink much now that's more to do with pg, bf and a close encounter with alcoholism in the family - nothing to do with keeping thrush at bay. HTH

Been doing reasonably well on water, creams and excercise at beginning of the week but controlling the nibbling/snacking hasn't been good - says she whilst eating choc and banana cake (and drinking water!!) Need to get back on track with it as it does make me feel better. Must try the dried fruit, nuts, seeds snacking that someone mentioned.

Off swimming with children in a while though wallowing in the baby pool hardly counts as swimming! And there may be chips afterwards though I might just nick them from DS's plate rather than get my own. Will go and try to find suitable 10YY things for lunch.

Pamina, I've done the 'oh dear I overdid it last night' act to decline booze, or just said 'I am having a non-drinking month' which somehow sounds less pious than the dreaded D-word, I think.

My skin is breaking out too. I think it may be the sunscreen. Pah.

tortoiseSHELL · 08/06/2007 13:25

Hello, yesterday was GOOD. And weirdly I already feel better for it - took ds2 to baby gym - took some summoning up of courage, haven't been to a 'baby' thing like that (i.e. full of other mums and babies) since ds1 was a baby - have hidden from all manner of baby groups and toddler groups! But ds2 loved it, and I felt virtuous. Then popped next door to church where they were having a coffee morning (I REALLY needed a coffee by this point), but I did NOT have a jaffa cake, or even succumb to a mere rich tea - I simply smugly sipped my coffee. Had melon for lunch, and will have some more fruit in a minute, when I've finished my large glass of water! (Feels a bit like a certain routine, having a large glass of water at lunchtime, but there we go!).

Www - when is your interview? Good luck with it - hope it goes really well.

Has anyone seen marina around? Haven't seen her since her hols.

Well done all of you.

Crapola for me but never mind, next week will be better. Suspect I have pmt which isn't helping.

Interview is next week and I managed to do some relevant schmoozing at a conference yesterday so fingers crossed!
