WEEK FOUR WWW's 10yy bootcamp, all welcome

WideWebWitch · 04/06/2007 07:33

This is week 4 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

oh Batters, the saga of my relationship with x is so dull... despite having divorced him on grounds of unreasonable behaviour we still go around and around in circles and as he is the nearest I have to family now my parents are both dead everytime I try to make a break from him he reels me back in by being my good friend (for a while) only to dump on me again when it suits him or we are getting too close. Whilst I know I have to stop seeing him it never, ever lasts and I still love him and at 37 (and a feminist) I should know better. Am probably as angry with myself as him. I keep letting him hurt me

winnie · 07/06/2007 10:50

that needed a 'woe is me' warning
must do some work and ignore email from him

Oh Winnie. You poor love. What would make you feel a bit better - sticking to virtue, chucking it, what? Go with it.

AM, I work from home but my children aren't here while I work. I do drop them in the morning. Then I don't see them till after 5pm. We do get a bit of time together in the evening, I suppose...

prufrock · 07/06/2007 10:59

winnie - you cannot control our feelings, onl your actions. So come on here, screm as loudly as you want, and then smile sweetly at ex and make him think you really don't give a damn

winnie · 07/06/2007 10:59

MI do you know I like virtue Having spent my entire adult life as a comfort eater this thread since January has broken that habit Even a tub of G&B vanilla icecream doesn't tempt me

Thanks for your kind words Anniemac

prufrock · 07/06/2007 11:00

I also feel like crap today, but sticking to virtuosness is actually helping - I feel like at least i'm not letting my mother ruin my diet even if she is wrecking my emotional health atm.

winnie · 07/06/2007 11:02

Prufrock, will have to practice the acting like I don't give a damn. I don't think it is a part of my psychology. Lol.

You've all made me feel a bit better anyway and the knowledge that even free rein on a tub of icecream doesn't appeal is a very positive step in the right direction

LOL Cappucino - wish I liked running.
Good Luck with the anti-candida thing. Like you I have tried EVERY medication known to man and was in despair when the Diflucan stopped working. I did an anti-candida diet - no yeast, no sugar, (virtually!)no booze for about 2-3 months. It was really difficult until I worked out how to snack on it as I was so hungry I was waking up at 3am and having to make pancakes!!! But it did work and I have only had thrush twice in the 11 years since and both times it has been after antibiotics.
I also lost heaps of weight as I wasn't eating sweet things.

Winnie - glad we have managed to make you feel a bit better. I'm SO impressed that even G&Bs ice-cream can't tempt you.

Now half-term is over things have been much better on the excercise front. The pre-school run is 8000 steps (mostly aerobic as we are uaually late ) so 3 days a week I have no problem hitting 10,000. Might need to work on the rest of the week a bit harder!

Need a bit of help with my feet though. I have been creaming them quite a bit but now I've started wearing sandals again the back of my heels are starting to crack and get sore - any tips?

tortoiseSHELL · 07/06/2007 13:36

Winnie - sorry you're having a bad time, hope things look better soon. x

I'm having a good day (at long last!). Managed a few sit ups at home this morning (desperately needed) - I think this is a key thing for me, I need to exercise at home during the day, because finding time any other time realistically isn't going to happen. Will walk to school later too (about 3/4 mile each way). Food - had a carrot (I love raw carrots, ever since I was pregnant with ds2), and a handful of raspberries, and an apple. Will have an orange in a minute with a big glass of water and a cup of tea.

This is my bad time of day - I can FEEL myself wanting to eat bread and carbohydrates, which leads onto sugary things. I'm going to try REALLY hard not to, and remember that I am actually in control of my hands and feet and can stop them putting things in my mouth! But it's weird, I can feel my hands going blue as I type with cold! Always at this time of day! So I will go and get on with something - putting washing away or something interesting like that. What a riveting life I do lead!

prufrock · 07/06/2007 13:38

feetheart - try flexitol foot cream, from te chemist, contains uric acid and works wonders

Thank you all for your kind words.

Prufrock, I am sorry you are having a crap day too. I am glad being virtuous is helping

bundle · 07/06/2007 15:25

last night: small bottle beer, pasta with cream (oops), ham, peas, sweetcorn

bed around 11pm

today:
dorset cereals fruity porridge for breakfast
full fat latte
small cheese roll

i do have sunscreen on and walked a bit further than normal this morning

only one glass of water so far...but my programme is finished so the weekend starts here, woo hoo

motherinferior · 07/06/2007 15:55

I am kind of hoping not to eat much supper in order to compensate for my Lunch Out - not huge, but what there was involved things that were rather high in fat

kate100 · 07/06/2007 18:57

Have been quite good again today, but DH is very late home with the children so I'm not going to make it to Pilates, but I have walked to pre-school and back, run around in the garden with ds2 and walked the dog. I haven't eaten any rubbish and I even remembered sunscreen this morning, shame that there has been no sun

feetheart - try slathering your feet in cream before bed, I mean a really thick layer and then put socks over the top, it really does work. Just make sure you do it last thing or it can be a bit slippy.

winnie - so sorry things are going badly with your ex

iota · 07/06/2007 19:00

Having managed a daily bike ride so far this week, I'm afraid that I have fallen by the wayside today - went out for a nice lunch with dh instead.

Dh is very inconsiderately doing his run now, whilst I am minding the kids.

Oh well tomorrow is another day
