WEEK FOUR WWW's 10yy bootcamp, all welcome

This is week 4 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

Am off for a run in a moment and then am spending a lazy rest of the day as I just cant sleep at the moment.

tortoiseSHELL · 06/06/2007 11:15

Oh, good luck with your interview www - really hope it suits you and they like you!

Quite a good day yesterday - went for a walk with dd and ds2, which was lovely. Taking kids to zoo after school today, so will walk a bit there, otherwise spending the day sorting things out, so not much time for walking/exercise. Foodwise yesterday, not bad at all, had a granary roll with philadelphia light and various soft fruit etc, then pasta bake in the evening which wasn't fantastic, but not disastrous either. No wine but never mind! So far this morning have had big bottle of water, and very large carrot(!).

The greengrocer is going to be my saviour this summer - dd loves going there, so we are going to buy lots and lots of interesting fruits (which is what we did yesterday), because I just get SO bored by fruit generally and need a kick to actually eat it.

Hope you all have a good day!

I have been so rubbish, I was too ashamed to post I'm back on track today though, have eaten well, walked ds1 to pre-school and weeded the garden, so have a tidy garden and have burned some calories, all good. I was even wearing sunscreen in the garden, very good.

I have real trouble eating fruit too, I'd rather eat vegetables, the only vegetable I don't eat are sprouts, but I'm not mad about a lot of fruits and cannot bear bananas, so I have to try and really remember to eat it.

I continue on the straight and narrow. Although I have to confess I don't always remember sunscreen However, I can tick all other boxes once again. Plus I feel very happy as I saw long lost friend for a coffee late this afternoon

WideWebWitch · 06/06/2007 20:59

Ahem, shite day

2 pieces of toast, marmite, butter
bacon sandwich, no butter, as if that matters
a veggie wrap (200 odd cals)
Mini indian pakora/samosa selection but threw a lot of it away
apple
another apple
packet of vegetable crisps
kit kat
3 sausages
green beans
peas
red wine
I am not worthy etc etc

A better day here. Walked a lot (for me) - at least 45 mins, half of which I was pushing a heavy pram loaded with shopping, mostly from the greengrocers. My DD loves the greengrocers too, Tortoise, because she loves fruit so I bought all sorts of things I probably wouldn't have if she hadn't been there begging for all sorts. What a good influence she is.

Can't say I've eaten much of it yet, but at least the fridge is full, should I be tempted Still, we had a virtuous dinner including lots of salady things, so that cancelled out the frankfurters and creamy mash we all had for lunch

Wouldn't dare get cocky, because I know I MUST WALK EVERY DAY, not just on Wednesdays! Better get a Moron, just to see how shamefully lazy I really am, 6 days a week.

tortoiseSHELL · 06/06/2007 21:40

Am thinking I ought to get a Moron as well, am feeling out of the clique(!). Am a bit afraid of the realisation that actually I just sit on my arse all day reading books and MN.

prufrock · 06/06/2007 23:57

I'm still being good, though I did very nearly slip after a huge argument over the phone with my mother (yep - you guessed it was about my arse of a brother). If cold wine had been available I would have drunk it. As it was I settled for a cammomile tea. But I'm so wound up I can't sleep so have got up again.

Sobernow - I saw Tv piece about it recently where they said that non aerobic stuff was actually the best for keeping thin fit long term - ie jsut general active lifestyle, walking, gardening, washing up. And we use up an awful lot of calories are burnt up by just existing - breathing, digestion, cell regrowth etc all use up calories - it's why celery actually has a negative calorific value - the procss of chewing and digesting takes more than you get from it.

prufrock · 07/06/2007 00:00

So today:

Sunscreen
30 minutes of cardio this evening
Just done 50 sit-ups cos realised I'd forgotten them
Managed hand cream

4 cups coffee
1 Nectarines
1 Cammomile tea
3 glasses water (Must do better)
Lunch was griddled chicken and peppers with bulgar wheat
Dinner was soup made out of leftover lentils and spinach and watercress out of my own garden

I had a day of virtue yesterday...

...until a slice of birthday cake. Will that cancel out fruit, veg, 60 lengths, low fat, yada yada yada?

I went at 7pm. After a day of work. DP gets in through the door, I zip out through it.

motherinferior · 07/06/2007 10:19

When I'm outside the house three days a week from the end of this month (I'm based at home at the moment) I'm planning to go on Wednesday nights, Friday nights and Sunday mornings (at the moment I try to go on Monday nights).

Pilates is at 8pm, so that again is doable.
