Going to Italy for a week in August.

I've got:
one playsuit
a pair of denim shorts
a black sundress
a red sundress
a denim midi skirt
a 'dressy' dress
t-shirts
a couple of boho-ish cotton blouses to wear with shorts or the denim skirt
What else do I need? Struggling to find any nice cotton dresses. Assume I'll need either another pair of shorts or another playsuit maybe?

Thanks. :)

That's really cute. Unfortunately, I would look like a v rotund Andy Pandy in it!

That is cute, I really like Stradivarius, I discovered them in Spain several years ago.

Atalune · 30/07/2018 08:18

I’m pretty much flat chested and have no hips so it’s a good look for me.

I had never heard of the brand but I like them!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/07/2018 10:57

Bet it looks great. Would be good with a denim jacket over too, on cooler days.

I'm still hopeful that I'll find one more dress, but will cope without it if needsbe!

I’m in Lake Garda right now - staying in a holiday let half way up the mountain. Forget the denim - the lightest cotton advisable! I’m living in swimwear and the lightest kaftan coverups by day and staying in the shade by the pool and the thinnest loose shorts/tees for walks/treks. Close fitting = sweaty in minutes! Very thin long sleeve blouses and viscose long pants when the sun sets.

fencote · 30/07/2018 11:50

What cooler days? Smile There’s little breeze and we are further up the mountains where we hoped to be cooler!

fencote · 30/07/2018 12:07

We stayed in a hotel in Malcesine for a few days last week. We didn’t need any extra layers even at the top of Monte Baldo. Tip : Get to the cable car before 9 am to avoid queuing for hours. Sirmione was heaving with people - to be expected though in peak holiday season. Again get there early for the day! Paid 5 Euro each for a large gelato there - they saw us coming!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/07/2018 12:20

I meant cooler days in Britain!

I don't think we'll bother with the cable car tbh - if we like LG we'll go back in low season and do it then.

Our hotel hasn't got a pool, so I think cotton dresses for day trips will have to do. My shorts are loose fitting, so should be okay, and I've got loose cotton tops.

KaliforniaDreamz · 31/07/2018 12:15

calzone · 31/07/2018 17:58

I now have
a cotton purple eBay dress
A white linen dress
A black bardot dress
A navy cotton dress

Flowery shorts
Navy shorts
Pink patterned cotton trousers

Tshirts aplenty

2 swimsuits
2 bikinis
Sarongs

3 sun hats
3 sunglasses
Plenty of accessories to change the look of my outfits.

Cheap beach flip flops
Rose gold Office sandals
Turquoise suede Seasalt sling backs

I think I’m ready.

KaliforniaDreamz · 31/07/2018 19:01

What books are you taking? haha

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/07/2018 19:11

Sounds good, Calzone.

I tried that yellow Warehouse dress on, but it was horrible on me. The linen was really thick and scratchy too.

I tried to buy a bikini today = tried on about twenty and found only one that I quite liked, then I looked at the price - the two separates together would have cost SIXTY FOUR POUNDS!!!! I realise I sound like my gran here, but when did they get so expensive?!

As for books - that's an even bigger decision making process than clothes. So far I've got an Agatha Christie and a Chinese detective thing, but I need lots more.

The poisonwood bible
The goldfinch

Both on kindle!

I’ll pick up something lighter in the airport too.

KaliforniaDreamz · 31/07/2018 23:16

Oh God Remus bikinis are depressing... I have some triangle ones that actually look better on that any of the more age appropriate ones. i could use a decent top half tho. i looked at Rigby and Peller and they were off the scale £££.

Atalune The poisonwood Bible is so good.
I have the Goldfinch on kindle but not read yet...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/08/2018 10:05

I see the odd nice thing in DP online, but if I ever go in store it's just row upon row of flammable tat.
