Going to Italy for a week in August.

I've got:
one playsuit
a pair of denim shorts
a black sundress
a red sundress
a denim midi skirt
a 'dressy' dress
t-shirts
a couple of boho-ish cotton blouses to wear with shorts or the denim skirt
What else do I need? Struggling to find any nice cotton dresses. Assume I'll need either another pair of shorts or another playsuit maybe?

Thanks. :)

Yes! Do it!

In America everyone dresses like they are either about to do some hard labour or go on a hike. Except on rodeo drive. In rodeo drive I saw some amazing looking people, and some amazing plastic surgery. T’was something else.

Wear what you like.

Remus your packing sounds about right..,have you got a warmer layer for the evenings?

Well done, you!

Tonight's outfit sounds lovely.

I'm just packing now - have opted for 3 pairs of shorts, 3 black vests and 4 black dresses so far!

For the first time and at the age of 47, I just embraced my bod and got on with it.

No one balked or laughed and I felt very confident......

I’m wearing my white linen slightly see through Dress tonight with white underwear and feel fab!!!

KD - I bought very big pants! My days of looking nice in a bikini are long gone, sadly, but the bikini was definitely more convenient for me on the beach,.

I’m just over a week in!

Have worn my white denim shorts the most and they are old. And also the striped jumpsuit which has been worn 2 evenings. We walked around rodeo drive yesterday and I felt cool and stylish in it!
I’ve thrown out 2 bikini bottoms as the waves/surf absolutely knackered them. So no more bargain bin finds for me. I need to invest in something with a little more substance/structure.

Have worn my leopard print pony skin flats from Topshop a lot. And have found j crew... it’s a bit cheaper here so have bought a couple of t shirts!

Remus- glad you wore almost everything! Holiday sounds lovely. I’ve shaved my legs already this holidays. The regrowth in the sun is crazy Grin

We did - it was horribly crowded, so we didn't stay long. It was my least favourite place, of those we visited. Probably lovely in low season!

Ok

I’m a week in and

Bardot dresses were fabulous x 2
Play suit has been worn twice
Bikinis were great
eBay £5 dress was awesome

I’ve only needed my 90p primark flip flops and my gorgeous rose gold sandals from Office so glad I didn’t overload on shoes.

Hats have all been worn.

Probably won’t wear the black jumpsuit.

Hope everyone is having a great time.

Cool hat!

Hope everybody had/is having a lovely holiday.

Clothing report:

  1. The denim shorts got a couple of wears!
  2. I definitely want more white cotton dresses/tops next time I go anywhere hot
  3. The M&S 'beach dress' is far too thick for the beach/hot day times, but worked nicely in the evening with bangles
  4. I shouldn't have bothered with trainers - only wore them on the plane
  5. So glad I managed to get a bikini - much easier than a one piece
  6. The hat came in useful - glad I was persuaded that I needed one!
  7. The Sainsbury's cotton playsuit was brilliant
  8. I had some cotton vest tops but the cotton was a bit too thick - need to keep my eye out for thinner ones

    Beauty report -
  9. The Avene water spray is utterly brilliant and worth every penny
  10. If one is an idiot and forgets conditioner, a few drops of Clarins face oil = a lovely overnight treatment!
  11. If packing eyeliner, do not forget a sharpener, because it is inevitable that the eyeliners will break/melt and need sharpening
  12. A week is the absolute longest I can go before my legs need shaving!
