Going to Italy for a week in August.

I've got:
one playsuit
a pair of denim shorts
a black sundress
a red sundress
a denim midi skirt
a 'dressy' dress
t-shirts
a couple of boho-ish cotton blouses to wear with shorts or the denim skirt
What else do I need? Struggling to find any nice cotton dresses. Assume I'll need either another pair of shorts or another playsuit maybe?

Thanks. :)

Remus, on the subject of mozzies, we've been to Italy a fair few times and the repellent and after bite from their own pharmacies are brilliant.
Can't remember the repellent name but the bite stuff was called AfterZ

I'm relieved at your 2nd list, I had a thread go crazy a few years ago when I said I take (On a 2 week holiday):-
14 x day outfits
14 x night outfits
10 x pairs of shoes,
6 x bikinis
2 x swimsuits......and so this list goes on....you get the picture....?

I'm now going to check out the links and see if something needs replacing.....Smile

Hope you have an amazing holiday - the Whistles dress is gorgeous btw.

KaliforniaDreamz · 27/07/2018 20:19

i am wondering about the amount of clothes too. We normally go to a villa so i get to enjoy my washing, ahem, but this year staying in a hotel for 2 weeks. do i need 2 weeks worth of clean clothes? and there are 5 of us. ugh....

www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/s2678392_c101/tie-shoulder-jersey-bardot-dress-black

and it's100 per cent cotton!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/07/2018 21:18

That Matalan one is lovely, KD - buy it!

Shopping - thanks. The Whistles dress is a thing of beauty and wonder and I will be wearing it as much as I can, with little or no excuse re occasion!

I generally travel really light - just shorts and tees and a couple of casual dresses, but that's for either beach holidays when in swimwear most of the time, or casual city breaks.

10 pairs of shoes though!!! Grin
I'm of the trainers, ugly flat sandals and maybe a 'nicer' pair of sandals for evening brigade.

I figure that I have lots of gorgeous summer others that (usually) only get worn on holiday - for my money's worth this year so far, though....Grin

ShoppingOnesSelfFit · 27/07/2018 22:58

Shoes are 2 havaianas flip flops 1 silver and 1 gold plus a smarter pair in silver and also gold. Dressy sandals silver and also gold. Flat sandals in Black and also Tan, wedges in Black and also Tan and comfy heels in Black and also Tan.

Crikey - that's 12 but that is for day and for night (plus trainers for the gym....)

KaliforniaDreamz · 28/07/2018 09:11

Sorry what is this 'gym' of which you speak?

i'm more Remus when it comes to shoes.
i'll take some new sandals that don't yet exist.
stan smiths.
sliders
flip flips.

KaliforniaDreamz · 28/07/2018 09:12

Primark 90p ones at that. class.

ShoppingOnesSelfFit · 28/07/2018 09:30

I keep thinking to myself - streamline - don't take so much but I already have all these things and (hopefully) room in the case.

Clothes are my only passion (aside from the kids) I don't smoke, drink much and have no hobbies apart from home exercise and Pilates/yoga.

Reading this back...I need a hobby.....

KaliforniaDreamz · 28/07/2018 09:32

shopping you may have read upthread that i enjoy hanging out washing on holiday. You're in good company here.

Now, tell me, is this ugly?

ShoppingOnesSelfFit · 28/07/2018 10:08

No, it's very pretty. Lovely length.

Though looks quite thick fabric?

(Sorry to highjack Remus)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2018 14:22

I tired and failed to find any Yumi dresses in store last week. That one looks nice, but I think you'd need to lose the belt, as it will probably be v plasticy.

Tried this on today and it was hideous, but might work for anybody flat of chest.

You didn't hijack, Shopping - no need to apologise!

I love the Oliver Bonas dress, nothing ever fits me properly in there, tho I love most of it!

Thank you for allowing me to interlope!

KaliforniaDreamz · 28/07/2018 16:14

Oh Remus that is a shame as i think it is similar shape to the lovely black one from there. they need a bit of elastane in with the cotton.

I think Yumi isn't great quality,

The search continues.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2018 16:16

I resisted trying on the lovely black one. I did stroke it though, and the cotton feels a bit stiff and strangely 'sticky'!

OP posts:
KaliforniaDreamz · 28/07/2018 16:18

Well that's that then. lol

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2018 18:44

Glad you're pleased with it.
