In bed, in Creamy Vanilla Crumble.

judy, your colleague is the one being a little odd, not you! Possibly fair enough if you were hogging the swings Grin but otherwise, no. Parks are for everyone. I'd love to have a nice big park nearby.

Motoko · 11/07/2018 22:34

Your colleague is being ridiculous Judy, so put that worry out of your mind. As you said, it's not just a small play park, so it's there for anybody who wants to use it, even if it was just to have a walk and sit on a bench to watch the world go past.

BlueKittens · 11/07/2018 22:36

Judy parks are for everyone- I’m a mum and I like to see the joy my child playing gives to people who don’t have young kids. At the National Trust the other day, DD said something funny and was making some silly dance moves in front of an older couple- they were laughing their heads off. It was such a lovely moment.

How sad that some people think we should keep families separate in our society. Nope, I want my child to mix with all. Sometimes I think we’ve got it all wrong in this country. I’m so looking forward to being in Italy next week where people don’t bat an eyelid when you’re 3 year old is up past 10, stuffing their face with icecream!

SotD Nox. Lots of patchouli on me (this is good) but will need to try again because LT loves it. SotE was MG Fire for a trip to the supermarket at 8pm which was so quiet. Checkout girl told me the town centre has been wrecked after the last victory. Dread to think what will happen tonight.

BlueKittens · 11/07/2018 23:14

Sote is creamy vanilla crumble- running low now (it gets a lot of use !)

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 11/07/2018 23:24

SOTD was Whyte Flower, another PP dupe but again, i don't remember what it;'s meant to be a dupe of Blush still it was very nice and i do love white flowers a lot!

AdoraBell · 11/07/2018 23:42

Been feeling rather blurgh since returning from holiday, so haven’t bothered with perfume until today. Mont Blanc Femme Individual.

CountFosco my teen DD was out with friends earlier, in the local Weatherspoons. They had security. She came home before the match finished. We’re in a small town and have only been back in the UK for 3 years so I don’t know what the town centre will look like in the morning.

MrsLucas · 12/07/2018 08:26

SotD Eau du Sud.

OCSock · 12/07/2018 11:11

An hour in the dentist's chair having the preparations done for two crowns and a bridge in between. Still numb from the anaesthetic, but not too awful overall, and the worst part is over. Next week for impressions.

OCSock · 12/07/2018 11:13

Scent: Eau Parfumee au The Bleu, the lavender and oolong one. Pleasant, not too powerful.

UnnecessaryFennel · 12/07/2018 11:26

Ooof, sounds unpleasant sock. Glad the worst is over though.

Am in a glorious fug of iris and vanilla today. On my left wrist, Felanilla which is like a drier, greener, chillier Shalimar. On my right Iris Oriental - still dry and woody but with more amber and cardamom. Really, really loving both of these Pierre Guillaume creations.

Off to check out a sixth-form college for ds this evening. He is currently on a recruitment day for a weekend/summer job with a 'well-known restaurant chain'...where did my little boy go??

BlueKittens · 12/07/2018 12:09

SOTD is Skin on Skin by l’a Parfumier. Cheap bottles still knocking around on eBay (it was discontinued)

Flowers for Sock

Ah Fennel can’t imagine how quickly it all goes- my toddler has shot up recently and started to ask ‘but why?’ after every.single.thing.I.say plus she insists she’s now a ‘big girl’. She has just turned 3!

BlueKittens · 12/07/2018 12:10

^ Skin on Skin is by L’Artisan Parfumer

Judydreamsofhorses · 12/07/2018 12:17

Thanks all for the reassurance that I am not a weirdo park lurker. I am always paranoid about even glancing at children after threads on here, and my colkeague’s comment about it being a strange place to go kind of tipped me over the edge! Also, the cafe does really good coffee, so I am pleased it’s not out of bounds.

Oh, sock, hope you’re okay. I bet that’s going to be painful on your purse.

No SOTD here yet, but am off to meet my friend for tea later, and also must get my eyebrows threaded. Just opened the door to the post lady in pyjamas at 12pm. For shame.

OutComeTheWolves · 12/07/2018 12:58

Hi hope people don't mind me joining this thread. My only perfume knowledge is copied from Fragrantica, but I do enjoy reading everyone else's posts.

I'm wearing a sample of guerlain's lemon Fresca today. I was really expecting to like it, but I've been a bit disappointed. I don't love the smell and it's barely lasted the morning. A bit of googling then lead me to some internet sites that reckon if your not well hydrated (in terms of moisturiser & water) then perfume won't last as long on your skin because it essentially just soaks it up. I'd love to know if this is true because I never remember to drink enough water!

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 12/07/2018 13:55

Can I just tell the person who mentioned scent addict on another thread that I hate them? I want it but £144 for the year seems a bit much for 8ml samples 😢

UnnecessaryFennel · 12/07/2018 14:20

MrStark I think the Bloom subscription is better value than Scent Addict (and, imo, probably more interesting in terms of the perfumes themselves but I appreciate not everyone will feel this way). I keep telling myself I'll get a subscription but it will mean I have to stop frittering on ebay etc Grin

kittens your dd sounds so lovely! Have you tried Iris Oriental? I know you're an iris fan and I think you'd like it a lot.

Sarah 4160 is coming to do another workshop for my colleagues next month! A whole afternoon this time. I'm beyond excited [fangirl]. My job is really stretching my limits atm, but being able to do stuff like this does rather make it all worthwhile.

UnnecessaryFennel · 12/07/2018 14:24

And hello wolves, welcome! Interesting about the dehydration - there is certainly a theory that drier skin holds scent less well which is why people often recommend moisturising before applying perfume, I suppose.

PlausibleSuit · 12/07/2018 14:42

It just goes to show, when you test something, test it twice. (Or even thrice.)

SOTD is Olfactive Studio Panorama. I had a sample of this last year, tried it, and loathed it. It went straight onto my DO NOT BUY list.

I've had it again as part of a sample pack and I'm really enjoying it today. It's as fresh as cut grass and just as green. There's just a hint of playdough in there, and something a bit spicy. And maybe some sweet florals, and fig leaf? Mmm.

Hi Wolves, yeah I think hydration can help longevity up to a point, but I also think some people's skin simply absorbs perfume faster than others. Fragrance vanishes more quickly when it's hot, and citrus/fresh scents tend to fade the fastest, as well. So water may help, as might moisturising, but I would imagine it varies person to person. Oh, and it's not just water that helps maintain skin condition, it's all those healthy fats in things like nuts, seeds and avocados too.

CountFosco · 12/07/2018 14:56

MrStark I have the Bloom suscription, each month is themed so so far this year I've had: aldehydes, aphrodisiacs, chypres, green, tea, fog. You get 6x1ml aliquots and an information sheet for £10 a month. I've found it really interesting and informative.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 12/07/2018 15:46

I can't decide between the bloom and scent addict subs. i really want both but being sensible, i can only get one or the other! so torn though!

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 12/07/2018 17:15

I’m torn also Bloom is more interesting but big names I want to try on Scent Addict

CountFosco · 12/07/2018 20:14

Do scent addict for a year then swap to Bloom.

Judydreamsofhorses · 12/07/2018 20:17

SOTD ended up being Byredo Gypsy Water. Lovely catch up with my friend, now in pjs. Living the dream.
