SOTD was Light Blue. My gawwwd it was hot in London today .
Think I think Ive got sunstroke Sad. Retiring to a dark room to watch some crap TV in a bit, I think.

OneNight I like Insolence, but for me its a cosy bedtime fragrance for cooler weather. Its a violet bomb and quite sweet. I'd go as far as to say it is quite gourmand, a sort of sugared violets vibe.

lasttimeround · 06/07/2018 19:16

Bluekitten i just got home from holiday and found the 4610 samples you sent. Thank you!!! Too wiped to try anything seriously just now tho did have a squirt of Rome. Totally insane. Just like inside of old wooden furniture in Mediterranean apartments.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/07/2018 19:18

hmm, sounds like i would like insolence then! if it's still there tomorrow, i think i'll pick it up. If i hate it, i can always pass it on Smile

MrsLucas · 06/07/2018 21:27

Calm Musc et Mure is lovely. Outdoors is...Strident?

Good discovery today - Annick Goutal is being stocked locally, but a limited number only. Will be coming back to try Duel and Ambre Fetiche on my skin. Bit sad to see the new bottles though. The old ones were perfect. and don't start me on the pom-poms again

MrsLucas · 06/07/2018 21:27

Tokyo Spring Blossom is half price SotW.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/07/2018 21:40

LADDM has lasted beautifully today. It is so stunning and works well in the heat despite being 'heavy'. Really is, literally, my desert island scent.

OCSock · 06/07/2018 21:45

I am worried. Having been a perfume tart for as long as I've been here, I have a go to fragrance. Feu Follet is starting to feel like my scent.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/07/2018 21:48

Have also been enjoying Raw Silk & Red Roses - a gloriously spicy patchouli rose.

Not quite so sure about Silk, Lace and Chocolate unfortunately. I get a mandarin-type note in the top which I'm not fond of, and it definitely has a whiff of the last Quality Street in the tin...however I'm thinking that high summer is probably not the best time for this one, so will try again in the colder weather.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/07/2018 21:50

Well, if you're going to choose monogamy Sock, Feu Follet makes a pretty good life partner Grin

OCSock · 06/07/2018 21:56

Monogamy... is not a word I want to know or understand. I am still youthful and adventurous.

MrsLucas · 06/07/2018 22:20

With you on the Feu Follet OC - it's a great smokey/aromatic suede.

Spent the day playing with two Clive Christian's: Rock Rose and Cosmos Flower. Rock Rose doesn't really smell of Rock Rose and opens a bit like Gold Map of the Heart. The pepper burns off quite quickly and this becomes smooth, sweet and powdery. Cosmos starts off with a blast of yellow flowers and then quickly becomes fruity sweet, before the cocoa note kicks in. They are both quite entertaining; the packaging, for samples, is outrageously overblown, and they both shapeshift a bit. But the transitions, in both cases, seem to be between fairly generic smells?

Feu Follet beats them hands down.

auberginesrus · 06/07/2018 22:44

Hello all, has been lovely here in York but not seen much from my hotel based conference Sad SOTD yesterday was Freeway - loved it, orange citrus with an edge. Today I've worn Rome 1963, fab in the heat and a firm favourite. Quick trip to Fenwick's perfume dept tonight, some great stuff in there - Anick Goutal, Serge Lutyens, a few Creed, Atkinsons - cant remember what else. Now chilling with the family at a campsite - quite lierally, have had to don a jumper and am trying unsuccessfully to dodge the flying biting things.

PestymcPestFace · 07/07/2018 10:10

SotD Iris Nazarena, just could not resist joining in the iris scents Grin
Iris leather and smokey incense, mmm, with that cool undertone that so many Aedes de Venustas' have.

SOTD is EL Sensuous Nude. Off out to lunch with friends. Have a lovely weekend all!

UnnecessaryFennel · 07/07/2018 12:14

Phew, what a scorcher! Grin

SOTD has been Philosykos but I might go for Aedes de Venustas now after seeing pest's post

BlueKittens · 07/07/2018 14:13

Diptyque Do Son today but it’s gone now. Been sitting in a field for a few hours at a family festival- with a whinging little one. It’s too hot!! I am nearly home now and want to lie in a paddling pool!

OCSock · 07/07/2018 14:21

Rhubarb & Citrus today. It's straightforwardly sharp and a bit sparkly and is refreshing in the heat. And it lasts astonishingly well for a citrus.

MrsLucas · 07/07/2018 14:31

SotD is Mandragore. Grassy, spicy aromatic.

PlausibleSuit · 07/07/2018 18:07

Promised myself I wouldn't buy any more this month but I've just snagged some Mary Greenwell Lemon for an absolute song. My last one I promise. fingers crossed behind back

SOTD Rook Suede

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/07/2018 20:02

SOTD MMM Beach Walk. This is so perfect.

MrsLucas · 07/07/2018 20:05

Switch to Van Cleef & Arpels Cologne Noire. Wow - this needs heat to blossom; it's never smelt this good before Smile. Another spicy aromatic - pepper, ginger and cardamon on a woody base. Smell a little like a relative of Jardins D'Ecrivans' George tonight.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/07/2018 00:10

SOTE is Yardley Jade. Somewhat soapy on my skin right now but i suspect that's the fault of the humidity and heat. feels nice and is nicely fresh and clean smelling

MrsLucas · 08/07/2018 09:56

Back in Mandragore. Very lovely citrus aromatic, but it whispers in a very soft voice.

teta · 08/07/2018 11:31

In Clinique Calyx that feels fresh and uplifting for today. It’s desperately needed for i have a monstrous hangover today.

UnnecessaryFennel · 08/07/2018 13:36

Started the day in Phaedon Lentisque but the dry down was too harsh and vetiver-y for me so have gone for Penhaligon's Luna instead this afternoon.

The name belies it a little - it's actually a very pretty, summery bergamot rose, a bit of spice too but not overpowering or too heavy for the sunshine. I like this a lot.
