It's not for me either 3.
SotE is Coriolan (am trying Guerlains where I can spot cheap decants).
This is on the masculine side of things, but not unwearably so. It's interesting, very well blended with no sharp edges, and seems to sit at the meeting point between the aromatic aspects of a cologne and the mossy parts of a chypre, but with a coriander/powdery leather twist at the end. It is a gentle scent.
The clever thing is that whilst it is smooth and gentle, there are a lot of complex things going on. I remember a midwife describing pethidine as not so much getting rid of pain, as making it feel like it is in the room next door. This makes me think of Coriolan; it smells muted (and very pleasant), as though the stronger, messier stuff that makes it possible, is happening in the room next door.
It is quite different to Feu Follet, but there are moments at the start of the dry down where it comes to mind.
