Flowers for floofy. I am also a big NR fan having burned through my sample very quickly a few weeks ago. I’m beginning to realise I just like perfume As the more I’m trying the more I like! Even in the worst samples I’m trying I find pleasant notes. Great for the fun of the hobby, fairly terrible for the bank balance. Thankfully dh also likes fragrance (he’s currently in fleurs de sel) so I have a stash there I can raid! I can’t remember the last time I actually finished a full bottle. SOTE Mrs Gloss Lemon sherbet. Sweet and warm and subtle.

positivepineapple · 20/06/2018 21:18

Thanks for Floofy I hope it's a quick in and out for you. x

Plausible I LOVE Dior Sauvage, on my DH, on me.... I just love it.

NR poudre - I like it, it reminds me of SJP pleasures...

TCTF I'm trying my very first Liz Earle today. I love anything herby, fresh, botanic. I adore Aveda shampoos for this. I have number 9. It's interesting. It's made me want to explore the whole range as it seems well made and complex. This one is heavy on the blackberry which isn't for me. Although I can sense some similarity to Angel

Pest I think Tokyo Milk is an eBay job, it's really not for me. It reminds me of KM wedding perfume - I can't remember the name? But there's also something a bit sickly. Fragrantica says Tuberose - which is a nemesis note for me.

mrsreynolds · 20/06/2018 21:21

Sote Mrsgloss indoors

MrsLucas · 20/06/2018 21:38

Flowers for Floof - hope you don't have to stay in and that exams are over v soon.

Great intel Blue! Think I might be a micro investor already! Blush

Oh, and just on Tauer, that's a good prompt to say I was wearing Amber Flush body oil the other day (90% pure jojoba 10% perfume). Fabulous, and incredibly potent! Bargain at less than £25, if you can persuade your anti-virus software to let you go near his site. No idea what the problem is, but is is still marked up as dangerous Shock.

BobbyBanana · 20/06/2018 22:15

Can I please join in without having reading the (gigantic) thread and ask a question?

Has anyone used the perfume seller in Birmingham New Street (Central) Station on the upper mezzanine? I has some Rose Oud from her last year and it was fabulous, really long lasting.
I bought some more this week, it smells different, a little citrussy but still good.

I also bought a tobacco/vanilla perfume there. It starts off very tobacco and ends up very vanilla. I think I'll use it in household applications rather than on me, it's too sweet.

Are you all about to tell me that you know this seller and her perfumes are awful? Or have I struck gold?

3DSpex · 20/06/2018 22:40

SOTE Addict (haven’t worn it since Christmas...madness! Such a beauty).

I must be the only person alive who hates Narciso Rodriguez. It makes me feel claustrophobic. I tried to eBay it and NR’s people had the listing removed!!!! Only time it’s ever happened to me.

I have a 30 ml of NR for her that I will give away to any of you - thats how much I dislike or. 😆

PM me x

MrsLucas · 20/06/2018 23:31

It's not for me either 3.

SotE is Coriolan (am trying Guerlains where I can spot cheap decants).

This is on the masculine side of things, but not unwearably so. It's interesting, very well blended with no sharp edges, and seems to sit at the meeting point between the aromatic aspects of a cologne and the mossy parts of a chypre, but with a coriander/powdery leather twist at the end. It is a gentle scent.

The clever thing is that whilst it is smooth and gentle, there are a lot of complex things going on. I remember a midwife describing pethidine as not so much getting rid of pain, as making it feel like it is in the room next door. This makes me think of Coriolan; it smells muted (and very pleasant), as though the stronger, messier stuff that makes it possible, is happening in the room next door. Smile

It is quite different to Feu Follet, but there are moments at the start of the dry down where it comes to mind.

3DSpex · 21/06/2018 00:01

NR gone to a lovely perfumista! It will make someone happy. And as she introduced me to Addict, which I’m wearing now...it’s only fair 😆

MrsLucas · 21/06/2018 00:19

Welcome Bobby. Haven't been to Brum lately. Have you asked the seller about them - do you think she makes them herself?

mrsreynolds · 21/06/2018 05:37

😁
Well.
I'm awake.
What a revolting development.

Busy day again....I'll be glad when ds1s work experience is over!

Sotd prob mrsgloss indoors.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 21/06/2018 06:38

morning all, what a hideous time to be awake!

Wafting around in Stella McCartney Pop right now. This lasts way longer than I would have given it credit for when i very first sprayed it.

Suppose i ought to get dressed properly and get on with some laundry though so will have to decide on something to spray again. ugh choices choices

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 21/06/2018 06:43

Morning!

Flowers Floof hopefully no more stays...

Dior was the prompt for me to delve into vintage buys on eBay. Worth it for sure!!

I think I need to register on Crowdcube...

SotD yesterday was Habanita - lovely in the sun. Had one of those infuriating work e-mails that just punches you in the stomach and makes you cry when I got home... Then drove to gym and they played "You Know My Name" on the radio. Taking Chris Cornell's advice - arm yourself because no one else here will save you and dousing myself in 22 today. Bring. It. On.

mrsreynolds · 21/06/2018 06:55

Hmmm...
It's supposed to be hot today...
Maybe not Mrsgloss indoors then!
Decisions...decisions...
I think I might got for PP rive gauche

PlausibleSuit · 21/06/2018 07:57

Morning everyone

Have a clinic appt myself today. At least it's this morning so I can get it over with. I can't spritz anything until afterwards but I may treat myself with some No.19 later. Not to mention a massive muffin from Pret. We'll see.

I've ordered the Rook discovery pack, some really interesting stuff in there.

FraxinusExcelsior · 21/06/2018 07:57

MrsFloyd the perfume seller in New Street station is probably working for the supplier. It's a big concession stand with about 60 different fragrances in big decanters.

You choose a size bottle to buy and she expertly pours it in.
£30 for a 25ml bottle.
The brand is Opulence.
It it incredibly long lasting.

mrsreynolds · 21/06/2018 08:13

Sotd now next eau nude

Ollivander84 · 21/06/2018 08:17

SOTD another kiss by the fireside

TeenyFloofyKittensMakeMeCry · 21/06/2018 08:57

Do you know, I can't remember when I last actually finished a bottle of perfume? I've finished lots and lots of samples but no big FBs. The NR bottles are beautiful, I agree. 3 interesting about eBay deleting your listing, I assumed there weren't many Rouge decants as too new, but maybe that's what it is? eBay are a law unto themselves though, I find.

Hurrah for exams finishing soon - and Spoons breakfasts Grin

Bobby that sounds great

Another one up since before the crack of dawn, I have actually been cleaning my house as I'm so bored and anxious^^ (you see how desperate I am here) No SOTD yet apart from Zoflora and have also lit my last St Eval candle (god I love these) to celebrate tidy house and I want to savour it.

Have a craving for SOTD later to be Obsession for comfort, but it's against my Perfume Rules, as this is only allowed in Winter. I really annoy myself sometimes Hmm Is anyone else this stupid strict? Apparently going to be very hot next week so busy looking out Virgin Island Water etc.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 21/06/2018 09:59

Perfumistas. I am a lurker and sometime poster who loved the big sniff. My perfume habit is out of control! Except I love it.
My 4160 order arrived with note congratulating me on ‘another’ fab order. Eek!
Wearing White Queen on one arm and Mother Nature’s Naughty Daughters on other while sat in sunny garden. How wonderful is smelling divine as a quick pick-me-up!

OCSock · 21/06/2018 10:14

I've joined Crowdcube in anticipation but the pitch isn't up as far as I can see. I think it's going to be Verveine d'Eugenie today, but I can't explain that choice. Maybe later.

OCSock · 21/06/2018 10:42

Blush Confessing that I may have bought the Rook sample set. I Scent You a Day tells me that they last and one is very close to the PdE Cuir Ottoman, which I love and miss. Some of the others sound good too. < Gives quick buff to enabling badge>.

BlueKittens · 21/06/2018 11:17

Happy to be of enabling assistance and good luck to Rook in their new venture. Quite ambitious to start a niche perfume house when there are so many already in existence. I look forward to your reviews

SOTD is Phaedon Hesperys (why all the difficult to pronounce names?!) with lots of iris, nutmeg lavender and herbs. Sounds nicer than it is though. It’s good but not great

positivepineapple · 21/06/2018 11:43

SotD JM English Pear & Fresia layered with the Aldi body lotion of it (which is just as good as the JM version)

3DSpex · 21/06/2018 12:11

Welcome Pinkie.

SOTD is the hated-on-that-other-thread Bronze Goddess Grin. DH rarely comments on my perfume but told me I smelled lovely this morning.

Made the mistake of using Bodyshop English Gardenia body lotion beforehand, though (gorgeous...think its been discontinued annoyingly)...so bit of a white floral and suntan lotion clash going on. Oops.

OCSock · 21/06/2018 12:48

My enabling badge is for informing you all that Rook have an introductory half price offer on FBs, but it ends on 24 June. Fingers crossed that my samples arrive tomorrow so that I can take advantage, if I like any that much.
