I remember being pissed off with hush about a year ago. I took out a case against them via paypal. They phoned me with their apologies!

Ellapaella · 18/05/2018 18:28

Never is that on the app? I only use the app for Mumsnet. Don't mind giving it ago as we approach the full 1000 posts but can't promise success as I couldn't figure it out with this thread!

dave my job involves giving suppliers a hard time (when they misbehave). Even if you repair the dress don’t tell them (if you’ve decided to keep 100% sure)
Take really detailed pics and write them an email detailing all the calls/interactions on the topic, expressing your huge disappointment, demand a 50% refund for the inconvenience and as a gesture of good will to keep a patient and loyal customer happy.
You may not get your 50% off but I’m pretty sure they’ll give you a refund equivalent to at least 20%...
Only do this if you’re convinced you will keep and repair (obviously)
Word your email title with “complaint” and for good measure throw in some legislation, for poor customer service if nothing else!

DavetheCat2001 · 18/05/2018 18:29

Yes I recall that too ella, maybe I'll get lucky!

If I don't get a satisfactory resolution next week I will take to social media as in my opinion that's where it hits these people hardest.

If I post something negative on their FB page though, won't they just delete the post?

Laska Oliver Bonas has lovely chunky jewellery

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 18:30

I may need your help too Soyo. Useful to know.

DavetheCat2001 · 18/05/2018 18:33

SoyYo thanks so much for the guidance. I'll definitely do that if they don't sort things out for me.

I had a horrible feeling that the dress they were sending was going to be damaged..the 10 I have is in perfect condition as I ordered it before it sold out so it is 'new' and not returned. Such a bugger that I didn't order the 8 at the same time..I've learnt my lesson for the future.

Just think it's unacceptable that they send something out as new that has clearly been damaged by the previous recipient!

I'm going to open the prosecco I think!

ilovecherries · 18/05/2018 18:35

Dave, you looked fantastic in the beach dress. If it's ok for me to wear, then you definitely don't need to feel brave to wear it - you will look fabulous.

DavetheCat2001 · 18/05/2018 18:35

Here are the pics of the damage I sent them

DavetheCat2001 · 18/05/2018 18:39

Thank you cherries.

It's just not my usual style.. i dont really wear clingy stuff.

Daft really as I bought it!

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 18:50

Where is the last pull Dave?

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 18:52

The hook is easy to sew back on. Its hard to tell how bad the pull are but why should you accept something that is substandard. I think they rely on people doing that. Wear something else so it keeps your options open. Either that of buy something from next for next day delivery if you can afford it or wear the beach dress.

DavetheCat2001 · 18/05/2018 18:58

it's on the side just above the elasticated waist bit.

In theory yes I could trim off the pulled bits and OH could have a go at sewing on the hook, and if they had said fine we'll give you x% off, I'd have taken it as I would have at least known I have the dress, but like you say, why should I accept a £79 damaged dress at full price?

Just can't believe they would rather I returned a faulty dress that they can't sell, rather than make a % of the price and get rid of it, unless they are planning to fix it themselves and resell it at full price.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 19:01

It probably costs peanuts to make the dress. They can probably put it in one of their sample sales. Its all very throw away. I think the real problem is how CS handle their customers. I haven't really had a problem with them..yet.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 19:03

Well they did hack me off when I felt they were a teensy bit sticky over returning a star jumper that developed a hole. I felt they didn't really trust me by asking me to return it so that they could send it to their garment specialists. Its a hole ffs. Honestly. It didn't take much to see it. Then, I had asked them for a refund and they sent me another one bloody out!!! That annoyed me.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 19:05

I couldn't be arsed to send it back so ended up keeping it. I wasn't convinced that it wouldn't happen again so after one wear I flogged it on ebay. It sold to someone that lives round the corner from me. How odd is that??!!!

SoyYo · 18/05/2018 19:08

I’m willing to bet their profit margin, even after indirect cost/cost of organisation is massive (100%+)
I think you got a clueless CS temp/junior and that they will refund you even if you decide to keep...the thing is to be incredibly persistent.
You’re definitely doing them a favour by not returning a less than perfect dress!

SoyYo · 18/05/2018 19:13

Re social media they ask people to follow them on Instagram so if they ignore you just post your complaint with photos as above with their hashtag, in fact lots of #hush to tag them if you search on Instagram! They can’t delete that!

DavetheCat2001 · 18/05/2018 19:17

OH is going to sew the hook back on for me and we are going to trip off the loose threads.

Looks like they are just superficial, and to be honest I'm not convinced that another return they send me out won't have threads hanging off it/something else wrong with it. The hook fastening at the back is ridiculous and a really bad design, so was likely to get loose at some point anyway as probably not attached particularly well, so at least I know that OH will do a decent job of securing it

The 10 I ordered has a white patch under the arm that I hadn't initially noticed either so sod it, going to keep the 8, sort it as best I can and wear the bloody thing tomorrow!

Tell me I'm doing the right thing....please?!

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 19:26

If its superficial keep the dress. I would still badger them for a discount still as it isn't right. I know how you feel. I saw that some of the threads were coming away at the pocket but I didn't want to return it and then I noticed that the overlocking under the arms had come undone well that was it!

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 19:27

its just under one arm.

SoyYo · 18/05/2018 19:27

Personally I’d be so annoyed (but I’m very grumpy in middle age Grin) that I’d be tempted to return and stick 👊 to them...having said that IF I really, really ❤️ It and considering above reasons...keep BUT give them hell till you receive a refund which is reasonable and commensurate with the damage AND appalling customer service you received...Hope this helps you dave
And Breathe...Flowers

neveradullmoment99 · 18/05/2018 19:27

How are you going to feel though if they send out a new 8 with nothing wrong with it?

SoyYo · 18/05/2018 19:30

Latin temper above Hmm...my poor suppliers! 🤣

DavetheCat2001 · 18/05/2018 19:33

I din't know never.. that's the risk but there is also the risk that the next dress they send me will have something wrong with it too.

It's got so many frills and ruffles it's bound to have loose threads.

SoyYo in your opinion could I still get a discount? What would be the best way to go about it?

I have a firey aries temper too!

Sorry for hijacking the thread everyone Thanks
