Hello all

Never you know these silver sandals i bought last week?(and which I have worn twice now) . Well yesterday I cleared out my wardrobe and found the exact ones in red in a box in there! . Receipt was from 2014 I wore them for the first time today (I must have 'hidden' them) . I also found some navy linen trousers from Monsoon with the label still on (which are now too small for me!) again

I nearly bought the hush culottes and then remembered I had put a pair from next in the sack to sell and then I though ffs get a grip, pulled them out tried them on and decided against the hush ones as the next ones are really a nice fit. What on earth...

No not at all Laska. I asked for honest opinions and much prefer to hear what people really think than just platitudes.

I think you're right too, just that I get stupidly attached to something and then don't want to admit defeat

If I don't manage to bag an 8, then I'll take a call on keeping it or sending it back. The 8 may actually be too tight anyway.

Porpoise a recent buy from FatFace. Bought them last weekend when weather was super hot. They are very cool and comfortable in the sun.

Does this Venice beach dress look ok? Is it too young for me? Too short? Too much arm exposure? Plain wrong?? It's probably 35 years since I exposed my legs - I've been wearing the Ivy dress over the winder with leggings, and the long Santana skirt, but this is a new level altogether. It's a medium.

I have that dress too and I felt it was a bit too clingy round the thighs initially, but actually the way it is cut with the looser fitting top I think balances it out.

. Thank you. My R leg has a mass of surgical scars but to be honest, they don't bother me at all, if it's the cost of walking. I just feel a bit naked without wide linen trousers and a loose kaftan top with long sleeves - my usual summer attire in the past!

I had to get the red in L but as my norks are huge ill probably need it . Also tum is a bit too huge for my liking at the mo but bootcamp hopefuly will sort that .. . Ive trief the haze in M .. also ordered the orange panel maxi.
The prob you see is because I am sitting in my car wailting for DS who is in a job interview... hmm online shopping is so easy..

What size did you get? Actually if you feel a bit bare, why not wear it with tights to begin with? Then shed them when it warms up!

John Lewis is good to order from but Laska remember me saying they were sticky when I was picking up my parcel from Waitrose? Well the lady last time was REALLY bad. She wouldn't accept my work badge. She said it had to be my passport, a photo licence [ I haven't got one, only the old paper ones]. I wasn't digging out my passport for this, so did what you do and use my work ID badge. Has my name, my face on it. She wouldn't accept it!!! She said she would accept a debit card if I had paid for my order with it. I lied [ it was paypal but to hell with that] She looked at the print out to check. It clearly said nothing about payment on it as she let me have it I had my dd standing next to me and joked to her 'Who am I' She said who I was - my name etc and the lady said I could have asked her to do that???? I mean ffs. Totally puts me off. Meant to actually email them and complain. Bloody jobsworth.

I had a relaxing lunch break yesterday putting lots of things in my wishlist in the hope that a) there is a code soon and b) they come back in stock! The Portobello dress is lovely! Agree re: seeing real life pics it definitely helps!

cherries I think you've really good legs, wear that dress girl.
I've developed wrinkly knees (wtf?) on otherwise slim legs like yours and one of the reasons I returned the v neck Tara I ordered in the sale 😢 It's so annoying...if I had your knees I wouldn't hesitate.

And reflecting on the recent posts regarding our motivations. Here's mine: I have a good job, so I can afford Hush BUT I buy far too many clothes and shoes and it's because:
A) I'm losing my looks. I used to be a very pretty girl, now in my mid fifties I hardly recognise the old girl looking back at me, i miss that beautiful girl I was once, and need to learn to love the "new older me". Wearing flattering things helps with that
B) I have a good BUT at times stressful job with a lot of foreign travel which saps my energy. Clothes shopping (and meditation) are my way of rewarding myself when things get tough
C) For many years DC took priority and couldn't treat myself, not enough money after taking care of the basics and childcare. Now I can and I do

So just a reminder that we are good enough and beautiful enough

Me too. Its hard to accept age and I am 50 now - I have to be grateful that I still look pretty good and many people still think I am in my 30's [God knows why cause sometimes I feel my age and think I look it.]
