My Tasha dress arrived and I absolutely love it. Prefer it to my venice and taras. May have to get it in the burgundy too.
Thanks@sweatylemon for your photo. Might not have ordered it if hadn't seen it on you.

CountFosco · 10/05/2018 12:35

Yes to the long haired very young looking models. I got the MeandEm catologue yesterday and that was the same. Clothes aimed at women in their 40s worn by children. It's something Boden do better actually, their models look like they are old enough to vote. Of course, models actually in their 40s/50s/60s would be even better. If Zara can use Stella Tennant why can't the brands aimed at middle aged women use middle aged models?

My harem pants are getting an outing today. I thought I'd bought a small but actually just noticed the label says XS so they must have been on the wrong hanger in JL. I did think they were a slimmer fit than they look on the website. I've bought a couple of cropped t shirts to go with them for warmer days but paired up with my denim shirt today.
Dave looking forward to seeing your portabello dress! Hope you have a delivery today.

Dress isn't here yet, but apparently should be at some point!

I'm excited although I'm thinking I have ordered the wrong size, and now it's out of stock in most sizes.

sweatylemon · 10/05/2018 14:12

Redtulip12
So pleased you love it too!

Ellapaella · 10/05/2018 14:26

Has anyone ever bought anything from Anthropologie? I've just been looking at some beautiful tops on the website but need a bit of an idea regarding sizing.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/05/2018 14:37

I have. Just one dress. Tbh i think all yhe makes are different? Not made by anthro iykwim.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/05/2018 14:39

I may be wrong. The dress i had was true to size. I also had a PU pinafore dress. It was beaitiful but when i lost weight i sold it on. It was generous.

Ellapaella · 10/05/2018 15:01

Ah okay thanks never. Unfortunately the two tops I like are out of stock in my size. Such pretty stuff though,

Back from Spanish break feeling super chilled won't last and found new thread so marking space.

Ella love today's outfit relaxed cool vibe and I've got a couple of Anthropologie tops from 3 years ago, I'd say True To Size.

Laska really like that Next linen dress, thanks for linking.

never I also really liked the witchy shoes but I've scratched my shoe itch with a couple of new pairs whilst on hols so will resist, helped by wide feet and the fact they're ooo in my size.
Also liked all the photos everyone else posted, I totally agree that it's so helpful to see in RL as opposed to prepubescent models in catalogue. One of the reasons I always enjoy Gudrun Sjoden catalogues when they pop in the post is they use older -albeit gorgeous- models and it's so good to see silver foxes rocking the Gudrun vibe which is difficult: think mad toddler clothes with a Scandi Arty vibe and gorgeous colours, natural, eco materials. It's quite expensive but over the years I've built a capsule of Gudrun clothes which are quite lovely and different.

DavetheCat2001 · 10/05/2018 15:56

Ok so here's the Portobello dress.

Honest opinions please. I'm 50/50, it is loose fitting and wondering if a smaller size would look better. The other thing is it is cut very low under the arms, although not obscenely so.

On hols wore Monaco trousers (spice) with black v neck Hush T and found a scarf in Parfois that went with it, see happy pic beach walking (had pulled up trousers to paddle in Med).
Also lots of wear of Hush embroidered jeans, various T,s and got compliments when wearing both Love sweat and grey tie jumper (similar to this years pink jumper now ooo).
See pic the beach was all mine! 😎

Dave you've a great slim figure so dress suits you, i also like the back and underarms are cut big so you could try a smaller size to see if that makes a difference?
I'm not 100% sold on the flouncy sleeves, that's my only reservation and because I'm not heavy and don't usually suit that style I'm biased but on you it does look good

SoyYo · 10/05/2018 16:04

Meant to say im Top Heavy sorry for typo

DavetheCat2001 · 10/05/2018 16:09

Thanks SoyYo. I'm pretty small up top, in fact I'm fairly straight up and down with not much waist either!

I'm going to keep it for now I think and see if an 8 comes back into stock. I just rang them and it will be returns only.

So you don't think it looks too shapeless on me?

I quite like the fact that I can wear any number of colour/styles of shoes with it depending on the occasion, and it is nice and cool to wear.

miffy2 · 10/05/2018 16:09

Dave that is gorgeous on you! I don't think the tops of the sleeves stick out, and indeed will probably flatten more with wear. I really like it! (and now I want it......)

DavetheCat2001 · 10/05/2018 16:09

Lovely beach pic btw!

ilovecherries · 10/05/2018 16:12

It looks lovely, Dave. Maybe a tad big but not hanging off you by any means. I like it very much.

Laska5772 · 10/05/2018 16:17

Dave. I think it looks too big for you.. and again I am not treally keen on the sleeves (wouldnt do for me anyway being older and big or nork) . it is low on the underarm.. maybe a smaller size would be better .. it actually looks fine from the back but i think that because you have your arms forward and so its less baggy .

soy you look great ! and very happy! , but then who wouldn't be by the med this time of year

AFingerofFudge · 10/05/2018 16:18

It looks great Dave and in fact also considering it which is a major thing as I've never bought a dress.
Well, maybe back in my childhood years I did but it's been a while.

DavetheCat2001 · 10/05/2018 16:20

Thanks Smile

I think I do really like it, maybe just could do with being a wee less roomy.

Last pic..promise! With some slightly dressier shoes which I think work.

SoyYo · 10/05/2018 16:21

Dave keep it! I also like to wear black in summer it's so easy and classic appeals to inner rock chick I don't think it looks too big a size on you and on you the sleeves look great 👍

I'm after the Alanis black dress next, looks so easy to wear (also panel maxi looks promising)
Does anyone rate them or do they hang like a sack of potatoes if you're well endowed?
Hoping for a discount but might relent and order with the straw bag with black stars which I also love...

You lot are a bad influence!

DavetheCat2001 · 10/05/2018 16:21

Thanks Laska..wish I'd bought both sizes now when they were in stock!

Laska5772 · 10/05/2018 16:27

dave Hopefully the smaller will come back in .. Fingers crossed
